Sassy was a teen magazine for girls in the late 80s/early 90s. I used to read it all the time. It was meant to be an edgier, feminist alternative to other popular teen magazines of the time (Seventeen, YM, etc.). I feel roughly the same about this movie. I just can't with Eddie.

Kenton Kruger

Nope, this movie would not be better seeing the first movie. I enjoy the first one but never understood the fandom for this movie, in fact I think watching this one first might hinder her enjoyment of the original movie.

Jason Nunez

You didn’t have to see the original Vacation movie. Each movie is pretty much stand alone and the actors that play the kids change. I’m not a big fan of Elf but really enjoy Christmas vacation

Jason Nunez

Disagree this movie is in my opinion way better than the original.

James Falato

Good Christmas Stocking Stuff-er!!!

Sean Novack

Nice job hitting that high note at the end of the Anthem!

Brett Delbridge

You definitely don’t need to watch European or Vegas vacation

Eric Janssen

Like A Christmas Story, call it “hypnosis”, by a studio—in this case, Warner—that didn’t HAVE any other holiday titles to market at December, and were going to market the one or two they did have until people watched them. Which, in Warner’s case, also explains why a generation grew up beLieving Will Ferrell in “Elf” was an actual thing.

The movie was originally going to be “Ski Vacation”, but was downgraded.in rewrites to only one or two gags of Chevy careening downhill. And no, you don’t have to watch the other Vacations, but skipping the original Vacation is on the Essential Big-80’s level of skipping Ghostbusters.

After the holidays are over, I would recommend Funny Farm to get another glimpse of Chevy Chase 💯🤦‍♀️🤭😑👍

Eric Janssen

And the two Fletch movies--The Fletches and Funny Farm were the "forgotten" Chevy Chase comedies where he was still funny in the post-Vacation mid-80's...But no, someone HAD to send Ash that copy of Under the Rainbow.

The girl at the counter in the department store is Paulina Porizkova, an 80's "supermodel" who later married Ric Ocasek, front-man of The Cars.

Clark's duaghter was played by Juliette Lewis (not the actor from the original "Vacation" movie), who later turned in an amazing performance in "Natural Born Killers" and other films.

This movie is one of the few that gets funnier each time you watch it. I wish you’d give it another watch sometime. So many little moments that you can catch. My FIL loves it. I made him a t-shirt that said “Save the neck for me, Clark” haha Like Napoleon Dynamite - actually I hated that movie the first time I watched it. Suddenly, the second time around I “got it” and it has been more and more funny ever since with each rewatch.

Mr Marvelous

I watch it three times at the theater when I watched it at 16 in high school . Actually watched a revival showing at the theater in 2019
