Having seen both the first and Christmas vacation movies, I have to say you really don't need to watch the first one in order for the Christmas one to make sense. That's what's kind of nice about it - it's a very self-contained story! And it's funny as hell, too - it's my favorite of the National Lampoon movies, tbh. Also - I just want to give you the biggest, squooshiest hug, Ashleigh. I've lived with depression since I was about 15 or 16 years old (I'm 43 now and also on Prozac) and even in the last couple of years, pandemic aside, things have been exceptionally difficult in my life, but if there's one thing I've taken deeply to heart, it's this one line from a very weird little film called Mary Reilly. It's a movie told from the perspective of Dr. Jekyll's maid in Victorian England, and at one point, Dr. Jekyll tells Mary that she helps quiet the rage in him and Mary asks where the rage comes from and he says 'it comes in like the tide'. And something about the line has always resonated with me so much - not with rage, but with my depression. Because the tide may come in, but it will always inevitably go out, and it's just a matter of sitting on a dry bit of land and waiting for it to go. Your mind is 'you' but it is also simultaneously 1.) not you and 2.) not your friend - it can and will lie to you and listening to that anxious voice only ever goes poorly. So you just have to get used to sitting and waiting it out until the tide goes back out again. It can feel unbearable, but it *does* get easier and more managable as you go. And I'll steal another quote from a tv show while I'm at it, because it fits: "Mourn the losses, because they are many, but celebrate the wins, because they are so few." Big hugs, Ash. You're killin' it!

You are enough, too. And the few people in your personal inner circle are all you need. You have all you need. The 100K of us and all the movies are just the tasty icing on the cake. Enjoy it in the moments you are able. I had to put up severe boundaries for a close relative last year. (My dad) Probably the hardest thing ever. I still struggle with it, but it was still the right thing to do. It’s just such a heavy weight to carry. It makes it hard to feel fully happy and it zaps creativity. I am so glad that we can be here to help you carry that weight and of course the help goes both ways. Thank you so much. I owe you a lot. Also, MCU rocks! I CANNOT WAIT for you to see more. CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT!!

I absolutely look forward to your reviews every week. You have such sincere reactions, it’s impossible not to love the channel! (My first viewing was the Exorcist and it was so much FUN!) We’re here whenever you want to vent so take advantage of your online fans 😀

Ashleigh I hope you're catching these comments, and at least the top comments on Youtube, because it's even better than the 100,000. It's what you're doing with those 100,000. You're making this crazy world better. I hate to borrow from of all the people, Hannibal Lecter, but the world is more interesting with you in it. It's BETTER with you in it. Praying that grace and peace permeate your life, and we can all continue this march, one step at a time. Together. Much love to you from Brent and Cathy.

You're amazing, Ashleigh. Thank you for your transparency and for keeping it real. As someone who battles PTSD from my time in service, depression, and anxiety, I know how difficult it can be to be open about those struggles. So, thank you for reminding us all who are on a journey towards improved mental health that we are not alone and that we are enough. Keep up the great work with the channel, and I hope you continue to find peace, tranquility, and joy in your mental health journey as well.

100,000 is a lot of beans! Congratulations on that milestone! BIG HUGS! ❤️

This is one of the hardest times for me in the mental health department...in my entire life. There are very few YT channels that I regularly watch and you are one that can, without a doubt, make my day turn around for the better. Thank you so much for making us laugh and being true to yourself and us.

Thank you for being so honest about the good, the bad and the in between. Your honesty lets others know it's ok to not always be ok. You matter and your content makes a difference!

I understand where you are coming from. This past 3 or 4 year have been really hard for me mentally. There were lots of dark days, but then Youtube came along and suggested a little channel for me to check out and all of you came into my life. Ashleigh, I love watching every upload and every movie reaction. You are the most real person I follow and the community you have built means the world to a lot of people. I try never to miss a ride on the Hot Mess Express, the most fun live stream there is on the Tube. To the rest of you guys. I love hanging out with you all on the streams and seeing what everyone has sent in to Ashleigh every month. Sorry if you dont like my movie picks but I like to share what I like with others. I wish you all good health and happy holidays!!!

My brain has always been pretty mean to me, too, but somewhere between when I hear you say "Hi!" and "Yes!" at the beginning of every damn video, a smile finds me. How great is that? Thank you, sincerely. And bless you.
