One of my favorite movies and now you all know why if you have not seen it yet. Thanks Ashleigh... and Beans.

This is the first time I'll be doing the Watch Along. Been doing Watch Full Movie. So, what is the best way y'all have figure out how to do this? Thanks! I have a MacBook and Apple TV 4k

I'm so happy you watched CLUE! Gotta love Tim Curry! He also stars as Darkness in the movie Legend, and as Frank N Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. That'd be a good one for a "musicals month".

I have some suggestions... The Watch along is kind of a hassle but since I can't afford the next tier I have to put up with it... first we had the lag issues, that's solved, thank you. Sometimes it's hard to keep it synchronized specially when I have to pause it for whatever reason. Or like what happened to me a couple of minutes ago when the window I had the Watch-along on crashed and now I have to start the movie from the beginning because I have no way to synchronize it... It's not a complain really, it's more like offering a solution... It would help if like every 10 or 15 minutes you could give us a few seconds of the movie so we can synch it with our copy... like you do at the beginning... sooo, that's it... thanks... please don't take it the wrong way, I still enjoy watching with you inmmensly... thank you!

The Full Movie is not available right now on the next tier. Not sure what happened. Probably copyright. Ashleigh will let us know when/if she figure something out.

In the original theatrical release, the movie had three different endings and you would only see one of them. The theater listing would show whether you would see ending A, B, or C. This confused the crap out of people, which probably contributed to the movie being a box office flop. I think that's one of the reasons you don't hear much about it. But the people who have discovered it love it. And yes, I saw it in theaters because I am Very Old, LOL.

I'm old enough to remember this in theaters and still have never watched it. Guess I'm gonna be doing that now.

David Patterson

Continuity error: Both Mrs. Peacock and Mrs. White are shown on their respective floors after the power is turned off. This makes the second and third endings improbable, though the third one is my favorite. It's the one I saw in the theater and it's the only one that uses the board game ending. ('Suspect' did it in the 'room' with the 'weapon') Those who saw it in theaters, which ending did you see?

Amy Silknitter

Love that you loved this. This movie is phenomenal.

This is the first time doing a watch along. Watched the movie on TV and had watched Ashleigh on my Android tablet. It worked pretty well that way. If I have the movie on my DVR or if I have the DVD I will do it again.

FYI - All the rooms in the movie are in the correct position in relation to each other as the board game. Also, the secret passages are in their correct locations and lead to the correct places. I even dare say the parque floor in the hall matches the design on the original board game (or is very close to it!).

I will surely watchalong with you. Can't wait.

Also, when it was in theaters, the theaters were given different copies that had each of one of the three endings so when word got around when people talked about how it ended and there were different answers....people had to go back and see it again...and again! LOL

Robert Ballard

This is one of those movies that we had bootlegged from HBO or whatever via VHS during my early childhood (born 1980) and that I just watched constantly. Unlike others from that same pool ("My Best Friend is a Vampire", for example) this one absolutely holds up. I would say it is top 10 desert island movies for me. Also, I appreciate so much more of the comedy now as an adult. The cast, the dialogue, the slapstick, and the timing are all top notch (Colonel Mustard was played by the actor Martin Mull, by the way; you asked). They even had a (mostly) respectful and sympathetic portrayal of a gay male character which was way ahead of the time, albeit slightly undercut by the reveal that it was a ruse. I also agree that this movie does not get as much discussion and recognition as it deserves. The concept of a movie adaptation of a board-game is rightly laughable (hello, Battleship) but Clue was by definition a narratively driven game aligned with a genre that was already cinematic (murder mystery/parlor mystery) so it worked out. One last bit of trivia; I believe the game Clue was an American adaptation of an even earlier British board-game called Cluedo. Not sure about the spelling or to what degree the American version might have deviated from the original British version.

Yay! I finished my first watch along. That was so much fun! I felt like Ashleigh and I were hanging out watching a movie together :) Now I need to go back and catch up on all of the other watch alongs I've been procrastinating on.

You got the spelling of Cluedo correct. I saw it in the movie credits. 👍

Oh wow. I loved "My Best Friend is a Vampire" when I was younger.

I only ever caught the end(s) of this when i was about 8 or 9 on HBO and all I remembered was Tim Curry's frantic scrambling about explaining everything, so it was good for me to finally have a reason to watch the whole film. It was a perfect synch this time between watch along and film. You're doing such a great job Ashleigh!!!

Thanks, Mark! I've put off watching her reactions to Ghost and Steel Magnolias because I love both of those movies and it's been a long time since I've seen them. I thought it would be fun to revisit the movies with her :) I also want to watch along to Groundhog Day (I've only seen bits of the movie) and Tombstone (which I've never seen). I need to make some time for watching movies!
