TCM played this a couple of months ago. I'm so glad I recorded it to my DVR. This will be the first time I can do the watch along, though I will have to do it later today when I can watch it uninterrupted. Saw Clue when it first came out. It will be weird watching the movie on TV and having Ashleigh on my Android tablet at the same time.

Be Kind

You once told me that you really cared about typos and things like that, so it’s the only reason for my comment. In the description, you have “... supporting THE me, beans and the channel.” Also, “... that I react TOO ...” Should be “to.”

I don't know about anyone else, but I am glad that rom-com month is over. I guess the theme for March is "mad" or "crazy" people. Ashleigh's poll had some good choices. Other recommendations that would fit that theme are The Dream Team, Shutter Island, The Shining, and Crazy People. The first Arthur would fit in too. Suggested theme for April, since it is Academy Award month maybe do Oscar winning movies like The Sting, Amadeus and Dances With Wolves. Since Memorial Day is in May, maybe consider some military themed movies like Stripes or Monuments Men. I would avoid some of the newer war movies as they are very graphic in the violence and stick with the classics like The Great Escape, The Dirty Dozen and, my favorite war movie, The Guns Of Navarone. Of course, these are just suggestions.

When Clue played in theaters, the big ambitious hook that they thought would make this movie a box office success was that there were three entirely different endings, so that people would go to the movie three different times. The screenings were labeled A, B, and C, so that people wouldn't just see the same ending seeing it twice. It notoriously backfired on them, killing plans for a Monopoly movie and a Sorry! movie, but over the years on home video, where viewers can see all three endings in one go like you did, the film built up a real cult reputation. Here's a great BuzzFeed oral history of the project with interviews from the surviving cast and crew. https://www.buzzfeed.com/adambvary/something-terrible-has-happened-here-the-crazy-story-of-how

Glad you liked it, I agree Clue is a fun movie.

Rebecca Monk

Yes!!! I have been wanting to see you react to this movie! Can't wait until I'm off work to watch. :)

Jill Peterson

The singing telegram lady was played by Jane Wiedlin. She played rhythm guitar for 80s all-female band, The Go-Gos.

I'm glad you enjoyed this movie because I usually watch it about once a year. You always lift up my Thursdays and Sundays when I watch your videos

Jill Peterson

My family saw all three endings in the theater. What a marketing ploy. It worked for some who really loved the movie, but over all didn't do as well as they'd hoped.

Jill Peterson

Funny you say "young Christopher Lloyd", because CLUE came out the same year as Back To The Future.

Anonymous

She also played Joan of Arc in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Oh yay yay yay.

Snow Goon

Oh my God, this is one of the funniest movies of all times. I love it so much, and seeing you enjoy it was truly hilarious.

Ashleigh in the thumbnail is that look on your face when you watch a movie and have to do math.

Great movie Great Review Know that you found this movie funny you have to see the movie Noises Off

Anonymous

Clue, one of my favorite movies!

Anonymous

Wait until she watches Cuckoo's Nest. I bet she doesn't recognize him and Danny DeVito.

Anonymous

in case you didn't know. this movie bombed when it came out but then got more popular when it came on tv through out the late 80s. I remember seeing it a lot on tv when I was little and loved it but not getting all the jokes. LOL it's more popular now than it was at the time.

Anonymous

guess its going to have all your usual suspect BAAAAAA hahahaha nice pun.

Richard LaMance

Thank you for all the time you take to do these reactions. Clue is so good, perhaps overwritten in parts, but still v v funny. I like the sync up thing. One suggestion: mebbe some kinda counter at the bottom of the screen with thar beans logo😀.

I have coveted Ms. Scarlet's dress for decades now. Clue is a true classic. How can you NOT have fun watching Tim Curry chew up the scenery?

Anonymous

Such a fun movie I never get tired of watching it. Tim Curry is one of my favorite actors if you didn’t know he was in Rocky Horror.

Anonymous

Yep Professor Plum is Doc Brown(Christopher Lloyd) who also will be appearing in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"

If you love Madeline Kahn, you really should watch Paper Moon

Always liked how Ms. White describes Yvette” I hated her so much , flames FLAMES from the side of my face HEAVING”

New Patreon member but long time viewer and BIG fan! Clue is one of my all time favorites! I suggest also watching Murder By Death. I watch both movies as a double feature during October. MBD is along the same lines as Clue but the characters are based on famous movie/literary detectives that are gathered to solve a mystery. VERY funny! And Eileen Brennon, who played Mrs. White, is in it as well as Maggie Smith! I really think you'd enjoy it!

Manuel Johnen

You HAVE to watch the "Psych" episode "100 Clues" now...

Eric Janssen

I loved the board game, but never really understood how to use the game slips to figure out whodunit--For the Clue-impaired like Ash, check out Hasbro's licensed app-game version of the board game, that enters all the card-clues automatically. You'll get the strategy idea. :)

So glad you enjoyed this classic!

Tim Curry made a movie with Bill Paxton and Annie Potts near my hometown. It's quite underrated and more poignant than ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AvDDj8gqB8

Omg, how have I gone through life without having seen that movie yet.

If you loved this movie, you might also like Noises Off (1992). Also, Spies Like Us is a fantastic movie, and I really loved Twins, but that should probably be part of a Schwarzenegger month or something.

Kenton Kruger

Not sure I'm big on everything being a theme month, I like the randomness, but I'm intrigued by the idea of an entire Schwarzenegger month. I guess it would be which movies to watch, but I would think whatever ones were picked they should be viewed in chronological order to see the progression, and for reasons Kindergarten Cop should be viewed after having seen some of his other work.

Eric Janssen

Would "Chronological order" mean starting with "Hercules Goes Bananas"? ;) And someone already SENT Ash a disk of Noises Off that needs playing immediately, especially after Clue.

Kenton Kruger

Lol, as I put in, it's a matter of which ones to watch. I don't want to claim to speak for everyone, but I think we might be safe to say skip that gem. Even though it lacks the movie Rebecca listed to start, my list of 8 would end up being: Conan the Barbarian The Terminator Commando Predator Total Recall Kindergarten Cop Terminator 2: Judgment Day True Lies Can't figure out how it could be cut to 4 and be representative.

So glad you loved it! One of my favourites, the jokes are so dry and fast-flying. Exactly my type of humour. You were talking a while ago about tv shows you watched as a kid, did you watch Laverne and Shirley? Mr. Green was the Lenny half of Lenny and Squiggy. Michael McKean, he has a crazy long filmography, one of those character actors that always shows up. If you watch the often recommended This Is Spinal Tap or Best In Show, he is in those, too.

Manuel Johnen

Normally I would agree, but she probably wouldn't get 80% of the jokes... :P
