The movie is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video if you're a subscriber.

Kenton Kruger

She mentions a claymation moment at the start, so I'm guessing she's watching the extended edition?

Kenton Kruger

Just checked the time of the film and I'm pretty certain that she is indeed.

I dont like watch along... i'd rather have Full Length reaction. Not bitching... just my preference.

I'm pleased with your review. Never been a fan of this film myself.

I'm watching along with the Amazon Prime version, and it gets off track big time around when Ted (Ben Stiller) goes to the private detective (Matt Dillon). Ashleigh is watching an extended version with extra scenes, so this will be a challenge to keep synced up.

anyone find a place to stream the extended version?

Edward Olson

I ordered the DVD of the special edition from Amazon with 1-day delivery. Couldn't find anywhere to watch the Extended Edition online.

Be Kind

It’s on Freeform (free w/cable), Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Hulu, Vudu, Sling TV, YouTube, iTunes — $3.99 seems to be the going rate. Unsure if it’s extended edition.

Its on Prime :)

If it doesn't specifically say "Extended Edition," then it's not the Extended Edition.

I’m not saying I would do this.... but there is a torrent for the extended cut version. 🤫

I enjoyed this when it came out - I think it was one of the first raunchy adult R rated comedies of its time, so the shock factor helped. It just doesn’t hold up (for me). Still enjoyed watching it “with you though! Since you love Schitt’s Creek (same) you need to do Best in Show. I really think you would love that one.

This movie is funny as hell.

I can't believe you didn't recognize Brett Favre. One of the most famous NFL QB's of all times. LOL!

Best In Show will definitely hold up! Ashleigh + animals = gold.

Just joined and think I have a great movie for you. It's Robin Williams, so you actually may have seen it. It's called the BIRDCAGE. Would make your best review ever.

Edward Landis

I’m guessing Clue means we are done with the lovey dovey flicktoons for a bit. As for this movie, I would think that it’s the mean undertone to the humor that turned you off.

Gio Vidrio

New plan. Let’s make March Madness be about mafia and musicals. Starting with A Bronx Tale.

I know *I* didn’t keep saying you had to watch this. I tried to warn you! 😝 This movie is awful. Been waiting and waiting for Clue, but I honestly don’t know what you’ll think because a huuuuuuuuge part of Clue is catching and understanding all the jokes. The verbal jokes fly fast and furious, while the visual ones happen so quick, if you blink you might miss them. There are also some dated ones you might not get. Like J. Edgar Hoover jokes. And if you don’t know what the phrase “red herring” means, you’re not going to understand one of the main running gags (that’s not a spoiler for what it has to do with the movie, just saying the phrase is used repeatedly for the gag). A lot of people have to watch Clue a few times to really catch everything.

I thought of Best In Show a few weeks ago, when I also thought of This Is Spinal Tap. Wasn’t sure if she would enjoy the humour of that one, but thought Best In Show would be right up her alley.

Says a guy. 😆 I couldn’t pick the Mahomes guy out of a line up of two people. Might struggle to pick out Tom Brady. I’m super impressed with myself that I even know their names. 😜

Clue is one of my favorite movies, and I swear I catch something new each time I watch it! First time I saw it I was a kid, so a lot went over my head, but I still enjoyed it a lot. I think Ashleigh is going to really enjoy it - and if she watches again with Hubbin I bet they will both catch a bunch more!

ChickensAreRacist

Yeah, watching it now gives me very different vibes than when I first saw it. I think the “shock value” was part of what made it so popular back in the day. Now, not so much.

Not liking something does not mean you “didn’t get it.” Clue is like watching a play on film, and it’s very much a farce, which uses buffoonery, absurdity and improbable situations to comedic effect. The characters and story don’t matter. There is def an aud for that; it’s just not as broad an aud as a typical comedy. But she’ll prob like it.

I have another suggestion! (trying to redeem us lol) Police Academy!

Tech notes- didn't have too much trouble following along, but as mentioned by others, might be helpful in future for us to know which version you're watching. i just had to pause my movie every once in awhile for your version to "catch up". As to the film- this is not a great one. I've never found ben stiller laugh-out-loud funny. I did like the meet the parents films, mostly because of the ensemble cast interactions. What i noticed most in this one was that there were a lot of really clever scene ideas that just weren't executed very well. It's watchable. I was never really bored.

I wish you hadn’t watched the extended edition. It screws with the pacing and lots of jokes seemed like they were cut for a good reason. The extended edition of Dumb and Dumber suffers from this too.
