Glad to be part of the Golden (self) Chosen of the Natalie! There have been three adaptions of the book "planet of the ape", that I know of. The original movie series starting 1968, the Mark W. stand alone version, and this series. While they are all distinctly separate, this series did go a long way to pay homage to the original movie series. If they follow the original book concept, which they have so far, humanity never dies out, just reverts to caveman lifestyle/mentality while the apes continue their evolution.

Maurice and Caesar had really been through it all since the start 😮‍💨 THE BOYSS!!!! It’s a fantastic conclusion to this “trilogy” (since a 4th is coming) and to be able to see and recognise the evolution of certain apes throughout these movies… that’s cinema baby. The 2nd act has always dragged a little for me for some reason. A lot of great stuff happens during it, but it’s never been able to capture my attention like the first and third act did 😅 I think the idea is that humans will continue to devolve due to the mutated strain of the simian flu, becoming less independent and able to function properly, another nod to these being a potential canon prequel to the OG planet of the apes since the humans from that movie were also more primitive (doesn’t really matter tho) Monkey movies has been a blast, until next time 🐵

Hellooo so glad you listened to your community and checked them out, and enjoyed them, they are such great movies ! :D Petition for my 2 favorite Dreamworks one day : Spirit Stallion Of The Cimarron and Prince Of Egypt. They are both such deep movies with incredible scores by Hans Zimmer and amazing graphics for their age, they are among the first movies released by Dreamworks 💜

Lucky Dragon ‘She.They’

If you want to see another fantastic mocap performance from Andy Serkis, watch King Kong (2005)

lmao, happy that you're pleasantly surprised! This is a very quality movie. I'll be watching Saltburn once this ends. Koba really did fuck all of this up. They have captured apes working with them. It really is awe inspiring watching all of the apes offer themselves in supplication toward Caesar. I've watched this movie a good few times already. Each time I watch I'm always emotional as hell! The way this film was shot and directed is so impressive. It's an ape spread illness, yeah, similar to Simian flu. It makes me feel very happy that you're enjoying this movie Natalie! That's the reason why I enjoy reactions in general so much, and yours in particular. Bad Ape's innocence feels so pure. Yet as an audience we know what will wind up happening with him. We know that he'll betray Caesar and the group. The humanity that the apes show the girl is perfect! I love seeing it. It really makes me feel so happy. What wound up happening to that gorilla is so tragic! lol, it would've been great to have met Woody Harrelson. I love Maurice! Humanity at this point is so disappointing. xD I feel that Matt Reeves did a fantastic job with this film! He helped us, the audience feel as though we were a part of the scene, the story. As for the soldier's actions at the end - I honestly don't care if he felt guilt for his actions. I wasn't considering that at all while I was watching and wouldn't have thought about it if Natalie didn't mention it. The dude deserved far worse than what he got. In the end he's gone and everything that he stood for is dead alongside him. That's what matters. Maurice was totally Caesar's angel on his shoulder. He reminded him that humanity when it comes to kindness isn't a terrible thing. Maurice stuck with him throughout everything. A true friend! Caesar's end was totally heartbreaking! While his end may not make a whole lot of sense - it's one that I'm alright with. I'm glad that the movie let him die and not survive the gunshot wound. It just wouldn't have made any sense for him to. I'm not upset about him not surviving or about him lasting so long and allowing him to travel the desert. His end while not making complete sense is one I can accept. I'm VERY happy that you watched this with us Natalie! They did such an amazing job with this entire series. Everyone in the series played their roles so well, yeah! Andy Serkis and Woody Harrelson, especially so! Thank you for watching this with us! <3

I will continue championing you watching bad movies: Watch the Burton/Wahlberg Planet of the Apes sometime. You need to sit through some dumb garbage. Come on. We can't be the only ones to suffer. Apes watching shit movies together also strong! And you made me happy by mostly correcting yourself to "ape" in this one. I'd even have been ok with calling the traitor-apes monkeys. What monkey-business are we up to next?

I wanted to wait to rewatch these movie via your watch-alongs, so that's what I did! Although, I realized a couple minutes into this movie that I wasn't sure if I'd actually seen it. The other two I remember seeing in the theater and I assumed I had watched this one too. Even now at the end, I'm not 100% sure if I had, haha. But it was great to watch them all and end right now since I'm seeing Kingdom the say after tomorrow. It's so great that you were invited to the red carpet! ^___^ Till next time!
