he he now that's a thumbnail to greet us with 😊 I can't remember what happens in this episode, but the first line of your message today has me worried 😬 Let's go. Oh boy Nat. They definitely did you dirty on this one 😭

Tijmen ter Beek

I thought there's be no Sherlock this week. Pleasant surprise!

jamie jones

Not related to this but i see the poll is 27% to 27%. Which one actually won?

Simon Bauer

you can use spot focus on your camera in manual mode so it stays right side of frame :)

Ridley

I dont understand the obsession of needing to follow other people's opinions about shows/films, always walk in open minded and enjoy for what its worth.

Jeff K

I haven't watched season four since its original run, when it left me with a really bad taste in my mouth. This episode was certainly a little meandering and yeah, I understand why you're frustrated with the way the ending unfolded, Nat.

Ben Wheeler

I was thinking the same exact thing about that therapist’s wall. What the heck!

Logan Kerlee

Your feelings at the end of this are completely valid. What happened was unexpected. When I first watched this episode I was also upset and confused. After though, I just continued on to the next episode. I didn't let the feeling sink in and bring me down with it. That's something that's hard for me remember as reactors watch these shows at a much slower pace than what I'd do. If I were doing reactions I'd film an entire season in a day. I have the time to do that. Doing that would prevent some of the impact from episodes like this - and that's taking away from the experience. I really should learn to pace myself with shows and just watch them slowly over time instead of devouring them all in one go. Mary was a beloved character. Without her the show does lose something very vital to it. In the coming weeks you'll see what I mean.

Time to start True detective season one.

Jeff K

I also forgot how the events of this episode feed into the plots of episodes two and three, which is probably part of why I forgot about some of it. I knew where the story was going but couldn't recall how we got there. And this episode, for its faults, definitely seeds it.

Antony Oscar

Your reaction to this was so relatable it brought me back to when I watched this for the first time in 2017... I was so annoyed.

Rey

Lol natalie looks kinda high in the thumbnail

Mike Hell

Sorry everyone tricked you into watching Season 4, Nat. Don't worry; there's only 2 episodes left! They're not very enjoyable, but.. well, it's almost over? LOL sorry again

Daniel McGuinness

X-MEN THE LAST STAND IS THE BAD MOVIE YOU LIKE!! AND YOU’RE VALID OKAY FAMKE JANSSEN EATS 🫡😭

Joel

In the books, Mary isn't nearly as important a character as in the show. Her death is mentioned in a throwaway line, and I'm pretty sure there's never a question of Watson's infidelity. It's one of the reasons why this season is not nearly as revered as the others, and I agree. There are some good moments to look forward to, but it sucks how much of the show is sullied by these dumb choices.

Daniel McGuinness

Oh the “buying individual vape pens instead of one reusable vape pen bc you’re quitting but not quitting” read hit a little too close to home…. When did this season air I didn’t expect contemporary reads

Rogier Oude Heuvel

Natalie, I want you to know that you don't HAVE to finish the series, we all understand if you don't feel like it. We're here to watch you enjoy series and shows and if you just don't like it anymore or can't enjoy the show, then perhaps it is time for something different. I will support you no matter what your decision is.

Shen V

You know an episode shit the bed when I feel nothing even with you having 7 emotions at once on the other screen. Holy shit I forgot how stupid this was. I can usually defend media that missteps, but I can't even find a starting point for this. BUUUUUUUUT, I'm not here for the TV show, I'm here for the YouTubist suffering through the TV show. I had never seen you be upset at S4E1 of Sherlock before, and now I have, and while the writer's choices suck, and you're not happy, and I'm not happy alongside with you, ... well, that's the point, innit? I'm happy to agree, or disagree whenever that happens. It was a very appropriate immediate reaction on your Reaction Show. The watching together is nice, considering we're not next to each other on a couch, because of the Ocean between us, and also we're strangers, but mostly the Ocean part I'm sure. The upload time simply delays us turning to you and going "Yeah, that was some BS, right?" I hope you do enjoy that part, at least when the comments aren't overly "internet comments".

Imo Sherlock baits her when she reveals the gun to draw her ire on him. But your right probably the weakest episode for me

Dallas Darnell

She lied to John about who she was for years. And you loose it because John fucked up for weeks/months?

Michael Rockenfelder

Sherlock being able to "go toe to toe" with the Assassin makes more sense when you remember his analyzing of the CIA agent in S2Ep1 where he was figuring out all vital spots he could hit to take him out.

Thomas Richter

I don't mind the last season, though I never really thought this Show was even that great to begin with. It was ok.

Bblack 118

It's a difficult season for sure. But I will wait until after the finale to try and help tie up any loose ends. (I have seen the show many, many times) But I am enjoying watching it with you. Just know, everything you are feeling, we all felt too.

llegan

If I remembered the cheating plot I definitely wouldn't have rewatched with you for my mental health (did remember the aquarium ending), but this season still doesn't deserve as much hate as it gets and I appreciate you taking it on regardless of the negativity everyone's giving it

llegan

& just to point out, Sherlock did everything he could to keep his vow and did royally fork up in the end due to ego but John very actively and decisively broke his vows

Tiger Chu

Check out the RDJ Sherlock Holmes movies after as sort of a palate cleanser

jamesthevampyr

awww. who hurt you Natalie. You know besides John and those evil writers.

Joel

i dont mind this season and the actions they took. i like shows that add twists like this because it makes them more interesting rather than have the same narrative of 'sherlock finds case - gets in danger - ends up fine at the end. their great dont get me wrong but episodes like this throws them a curveball, which is akind to life. nothing goes the way you want all the time and then they have to deal with major consequences

ti

This is the only Sherlock episode I always skip because of how cheap and forced the plot feels in terms of how obtuse and out of character Sherlock acts in the scene towards the end. Good news is that the other two episodes this season are way better.

Aloy

I suppose I'll be one of the few to openly admit that I'm a fan of the series, yes all seasons, even if they do differ from the source material AND my own expectations. The problem with a series as good as this one is that you're bound to piss people off (damned if you do, damned if you don't) and some "fans" are so obnoxiously loud that they're often the only ones you hear from. It's totally okay for people to not like the same things, obviously, but I find it upsetting that those shit-sipping Conan Doyle fanatics get into other peoples heads so they'll be disappointed long before anyone starts this show. Just let people make up their own minds.

Shannon Turner

As a person who enjoys writing, this episode was good. Not great but good. Hubris is Sherlock's biggest flaw and we've never really seen him be truly punished for it. We all love Mary but the show isn't titled with her name. Her death was important for Sherlock's character and I thought they did a wonderful job providing this harsh point of character development. The emotion from all the actors/characters is poignant and effective. My only complaint about this episode is the lack of John Watson being his adorable and hilarious self but we got more Mary out of the bargain so it was worth it. Despite it's fun vibes, Sherlock is a drama. Mycroft said it, Mary was never going to die of old age.

CheeseRepair

I try to keep an open mind about plot choices, but having every member of a spy team keep thumb drives with "everything needed to destroy each other" for the express purpose of having it not fall into enemy hands is the dumbest spy idea I've ever heard. I thought so the first time I watched this and nothing has surpassed it since.

Robert Emmett

I think it’s probably to big a series for a full watch with 7 seasons but you should definitely check out the first season of American Mondern Sherlock Elementary.

Robert Emmett

Mary isn’t really featured much in the books after her first appearance where Holmes and Watson solve her father’s disappearance but Doyle eventually got tired of writing Watson as married and Mary dies off screen no cause of death is given.

2023-12-23 03:30:39 The reason you got a lot of buzz on youtube for this series, is because not a a lot of reactor have reacted to it. I 100% sure you would get the same buzz if you did Andor, Loki of Orphan Black .

Mmh it has been a long time, but because you mentioned it so often that Sherlock shouldn't be that capable of fighting: I mean yes maybe not with some crazy extreme agent, but it was hinted a lot of times that he trained basically in all the different martial arts just to keep his head exercised :) at least that's how I understood some scenes.
