Jamie’s mom is just the British working-class equivalent of a mama bear! The string vest was the cherry on top 😭 that’s how you know she’s a baddie!

This was a great episode. Great catch Natalie on the wizard of oz references. The writers are so good at sneaking little things like that in there. The big blue moon, aside from being Man City’s song, was also a reference to the episode where Coach Beard went wandering all over town just like Jamie, though that’s where the similarities end lol. But it’s a reminder of Beards struggles before his moment with Nate later. Jamie losing his motivation because he no longer cared what his dad thought and having to find it again made me immediately think of Prince Zuko losing his firebending and having to do the dragon dance with aang. I’m sure the writers weren’t thinking of that but I couldn’t help make that connection watching your Ted lasso and LoK reactions back to back lol. This episode really showed how much Ted and Jamie’s relationship has improved since season one. They completely respect and listen to each other now. Ted’s speech about forgiveness was beautiful, and I loved that Ted took Jamie’s “fuck you and thank you” speech to his mom and she brought it home with “thank you and just thank you”. Classic rule of threes right there. I also love that Jamie’s father is in rehab and this show takes the high road by showing anyone can choose to change and do better instead of just making him a villain the whole show. Honestly it’s really kind of amazing how many storylines they were able to pack into one episode without rushing anything or making it it feel like too much.
