Happy Wednesday Nat. I'm going to save your reaction today and watch it on Friday Nat as I can't watch the movie because it's not available here in the UK. It's not long hit theatres here, so it will be a few weeks before it becomes available at home. It will give me something to look forward to at the end of the week anyway 💛

Anonymous

yay!! i’m glad you posted again and no worries if you don’t wanna watch the second season when it comes out, because the second season is draining

Meg B

Happy to hear (read in this case) you're pushing through, Nat. I know it will hurt but afterwards it will feel good. Like an awesome tattoo. But in your heart. love you very much you fantastic gal! Let's do this!

Ben Wheeler

If you ever lose your mind and decide to watch Fear the Walking Dead, they’re currently filming in the historic fort I work at 😄

Byron

It’s not that the outside temperature needs to be warm anymore. It just needed the temperature to get warm enough before in order to adapt to the temperature of our bodies/blood. Once that happened, we became incubators. So long as the fungus keeps our bodies going and warm, it would stay active??? Something like that?

Slick447

Hang in there Natalie, we believe in you! If it's any consolation, I'd be perfectly fine with you skipping the video game if it'll mean possibly watching season 2 😁

Anonymous

I have seen the northern light here in michigan at times.

Ryan

I thought that last one might have broken you Nat, really glad to see you back on the pain train this week.

Keith Jacobsen

In all kinds of apocalypse films and tv shows, and they point out that girls still have to deal with their "lady times", as a guy I'm always thinking "For what it's worth...I'm sorry, girls. Not fair." 🤣

Ryan

Next stop, irreparable emotional damage!

John

Nat, you mentioned going shooting. Sorry if this is obvious, but a great way to work on not flinching is to load a snap cap (dummy round) in with the real rounds. Have someone else load the weapon so you won't know when the dummy round will come up. It'll let you know for sure how much you flinch.

Foggy

"can you see the northern lights in north america? i thought you had to go to canada." nat, canada is a part of north america lol i know what you meant but just in case lol

Anonymous

Really felt that Joel monologue and Ellies confrontation </3

John

I hope when you get to the end of the season you feel like the story was worth it, even with the painful moments. It's such a good story. Season 2 is also a great story and has arguably some of the most heartwrenching moments, but also some of the most heartwarming ones as well.

Mike Hell

Glad you made it this far! This episode is where Pedro and Bella's performances really started to gel for me. I've played the game so many times and have always considered it to be a master class in game acting, didn't think it could be topped. But these 2, man. They're making a strong case for a boat load of Emmys, that's for sure.

Interesting tidbit mentioned in the after-show podcast, the Depeche Mode cover song at the end of this episode was performed by Craig Mazin's daughter.

Mastervodo

Good episode. Joel honest with himself and his emotional and physical state. Awesome that his brother was still willing to help him AND did not betray his secret. Also - has anyone else noticed Nat is responding to/liking comments more the last 2 months? Good New Years Resolution Nat! Interacting more with us makes us feel important and happy.

The cold weather does help with the infection. According to the game, civilizations up in Canada are still thriving.

Anonymous

Concept of infection was to fungi evolve to live in temperature of human body and most of times it's 36.6 degrees celsius even in cold we are warm-blooded animals. Sorry if i mede grammar mistakes, english is my second language.

Jayson Phillips

Good episode great reaction! Side not: Maizen's daughter sang the song at the end. Great Singer!

Julia

I feel a little better with this information LOL

Rey

Still watching the reaction but gelt compelled to say yes you can see the northern lights in spots like upper michigan etc away from city lights lol

Anonymous

Cordyceps evolving to be able to live in warmer temperatures doesn't keep them from still surviving in colder climes.

Anonymous

I love Pedro and Bella's performance here, but there is just something about the original performance of the ranch house argument by Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker that still gives me chills.

Emilie Mish

I’ve seen northern lights where I live in southeast Minnesota so there are definitely places in the US you can see them. You just have to get away from the light pollution. :)

Richard Maurer

I saw them in n.e, Ohio once, but they were nowhere near as good as they are in Alaska

Boomcity

They mentioned town Wind River in this episode. You should add that to a poll someday. Fantastic film.

alejandro valles

i'm so happy you decided to finish the season! it's just an amazing show all around, and of course if it's too much i don't blame you at all if you don't watch season 2

Baron

Hello Nat, Thank you for sharing, maybe for this month we can be your "Golden Peeps" You seemed to be close to that idea at the start of your stream, I do not think that they make them but could you imagine a peep covered in edible gold foil..... Oh wait they do have yellow Peeps!!! Totally works!

Thomas Richter

The guy in the beginning said that the fungus cannot survive in our bodies because they cannot survive temperatures over 35°C, but if the world were to get a couple of degrees hotter, than they would have to evolve to be able to live a couple of degrees hotter. So they should prefer the cold. And places like deserts should be infected free as well.

jamie jones

Lol i like how you take your phone out right as we see tommy

Baron

Good answer to Nat's Question I just watched and was gonna comment again but, adding on. I thought this difference from the game and reality is just a way to shoe horn Climate stuff into entertainment. It is kinda illogical. The game never really tries to explain how the fungus is able to survive in humans, because it is kinda a waste of time, the why is less important than the end result which is the chaos.

Chris H

We should add The Karate Kid to a future movie poll so we can get to Cobra Kai! I think it has one season left. Also Sherlock from the BBC

Shawn E Mercado

Ohhhh. A menstrual cup. Dude i thought it was like a girl condom it whatever. I was like damn she's a little young, Maria, but better safe than sorry I guess lmao.

Summer

on the wide shot of joel and ellie crossing the bridge look to the far left of the screen. I spy a crew member or five lol.

noe

Just a note, Season 2 will likely be more gut-wrenching than this one. While they said they'll likely split the second game into multiple seasons, it's very much a trudge through the depths of hell that leaves you just emotionally exhausted at the end.

2023-06-01 02:10:57 I hope you commit to watching future seasons because Part II of the games is so much more expansive (more characters and more storylines that last throughout the ENTIRE story, not just one episode) and blows the world of TLOU wide open in a way the first game just couldn't. I'm so excited for future seasonS (Craig Mazin & Neil Druckmann have already said Part II will be told over MULTIPLE seasons, whereas S1 covers the entirety of Part I).

Loved your reaction for this episode Nat. It's certainly less intense than last week's but it still kept you on edge towards the end. Pedro did an amazing job with his monologue. They subjected you to the Henry scene again so that they could transition to the next scene in the same way the game does it. It's a moment that still hits hard no matter how many times you see it, in the game or show. The scene with the dog was pretty tense, and I loved your optimism. "Maybe the dog's bad at his job" 😄 Thanks for another great video Nat 💛

Finally catching up, but want to add a suggestion when this season is done as a good pallet cleanser, is Sandman on Netflix.

John

I'll completely understand if you don't play the video game. It does add a LOT of fighting infected and people, but some of the story moments are, IMO, even better than the show. The end of this episode when Joel is injured is much longer in the game and Ellie is an amazing badass in it.

Duncan Schelin

Ah, that's good to know that they're gonna slow the pace down for Part 2 a little. I've kind of wondered since the beginning if they would be splitting it into at least 2 seasons, given how much shit happens throughout, lol.

Mastervodo

+1 on Sandman. Very good series! Also - Dredd, Scott Pilgrim.

Alexander Dashiell

Lol Functionally there's no point in really commenting anymore since these reactions are old now and you finished the season a while back, but it's just taken me a while to be able to get to watching these and despite that, I still feel the need to say what I've been feeling every time while watching these. To your point that you're spooking yourself out...that is so very much true. I wish I could have told you early on that this show never really leaned into ju-mps scares and was more about a slow approaching fear. But that's also not to say that you were wrong to feel the way you did, because had this been the game, your instincts would have been on point. Almost every time you expected to see infected, had it been the game...you would have lol. Considering how much you had to power through these episodes in the first place, I wish I could have just told you that it really was going to be okay as far as infected infected jump out were concerned. Doesn't change all of the other soul crushing moments, but it could have at least lightened the load. Beyond that, might as well also add that I'm really enjoying the reactions cause you get as invested as me and it's nice to see haha.

Cory Silver

The use of the same song from before, the 80's song that meant "X" at the end was very clever.

I know this is old. I watched your reactions as they were coming out but just got around to joining your patreon so I’m rewatching your TLOU reactions because it’s my favorite game/show. Trust me, i KNOW it’s hard to watch and even harder to get through when you’re playing the game, however I really hope you give season 2 a chance when it comes out. It’s not easier to watch by any means but god the story is amazing. Without spoilers, Ellie’s character progression is so so SO good and it’s by far the best game I’ve ever played in my life and it means a lot to me. I’m actually getting her tattoo (slight spoiler!) for my 23rd birthday this month and I’m super excited! Anyways, rant over, just wanted to offer some perspective :)

oh and you get to see joel sing if you make it to season 2!!!
