Actual football is what you're watching. The game you lot play in America is basically rugby with different rules.

Happy Tuesday, Natalie! 😊 Getting this downloaded right now so that I can watch it later tonight. This is a good show so far. Looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

yeah the show doesn't really handle the relegation storyline as well as I think they should have. partially they just don't explain it well to non soccer audiences and don't use the drama of it to its full effect which was part of my issue with the first season. i went in expecting like a comedy version of "Sunderland Till I Die"

That was a really loud aeroplane flying over your house during your reaction ✈ So much fun Nat, and then the devastation of the match. But then they got you laughing in the final moment with the fizzy water 😂 I suppose they had to lose, because you then have something to aspire to in the next season. Much like Rocky, you're knocked down and you have to come back fighting, bigger and better. An octogenarian is somebody who is in their eighties, so he was just making fun of Roy's age 😊 Thanks for watching this show on your channel Nat, and introducing us to Ted. It's been a really entertaining and heart-warming series, and I'm so looking forward to watching with you next season in the Championship 💛

Hi and thank you for this reaction rich in laughter, smiles and tears 😄, please do the season 2, you reacting to this show is a perfect combo hahaha And it's always funny hearing trying to pronounce some French words/names (Zoreaux, repeat, zoreaux haha) It's weird as an European to see a league without relegation system, it's not "fair" for the littlest teams that fight to win the lower league to remain blocked, while they have shown they deserve athletically to go up. And on top of that, it adds intensity, and pushes people to go to the stadium like here in Europe, or South America, etc I can't wait to see your next content! I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Love the reactions for this show. Had heard so many good things about it prior to you starting to react to it, but didn't start watching until your first couple reactions.... Then binged both seasons. :) Looking forward to the reactions for the second season. It's easily just as good.

As an American who's pretty unfamiliar with "football" rules (sorry, I know it's called football to the rest of the world, but I still can't take it seriously:), I sort of related relegation to being sent down to the minors in Baseball, just the entire team rather than a single player. Pretty much the gist of it?

I didn't even realize until just now, watching the credits roll, that the real-life model that Keeley is loosely based on, who happens to be dating Jason Sudeikis in real life, is actually in the show playing Bex. Wild.

If anyone needs help syncing the reaction to the episode on Apple TV+ you can try out this browser extension that I developed: https://www.casper.live/ You can pause and jump around in the reaction and everything is kept in sync. My recommended "offset" for this reaction is 19 if you get a trailer at the start, 56.8 if you don't.

I like that Roy only gave Isaac the captaincy because he tossed a chair at the tv

They didn't *trade* Jamie mid-season (although it *is* a thing; there's 82 games in the NHL season and the trade deadline is something like 60 games in - it's a day so how many games a given team has played varies a tad depending on schedule. That's about how it is in the NBA too, and I think the MLB's deadline is proportional in that it's significantly after the mid-point of the season. Plus the MLB allows trades after the deadline; it's weird, I'm not a baseball fan so I don't know the nuances of it. The NFL is the only one with an early deadline in all sports that I'm aware of). What happened was that Man City *loaned* him to Richmond so that he could get playing time. They reserve the right to call him back to Man City at any time, which is what happened. It's kind of like playing a guy in the AAA rather than on the major league level so that he can play more, but for whatever reason in soccer they actually can go to *different* teams rather than remaining within the organization. They can do in within a league (as here, the premier league Man City loaning Jamie to the premier league Richmond) or down (they could've loaned him to a championship league team), or even to different leagues, like you could send a player to America. Similar to how a football player could've gone to NFL Europe to get playing time back when NFL Europe was a thing (although that wasn't common enough, IMO; the NFL really could use a minor league to develop players). Teams pay to borrow players from other teams, so the team loaning out the players gets money as well as a better situation for their player to develop. (And of course the amount of money will vary depending on how good the player is.)

ALSO, Richmond had played some games that season before Lasso took over, so it's easy to project that they could've at least avoided relegation had he coached the entire season instead of that asshole manager they had at the beginning of the season.

Actually, if you rewatch, there's a bunch of tiny scenes where Roy notices Isaac being a leader in small ways. The one that comes to mind particularly is when they're watching Iron Giant in episode 7, and Isaac elbows the guy next to him to stop looking at his phone - the camera then refocuses to show Roy very clearly noticing that in the background. Another is in episode 5, when Ted holds a speech, Isaac scoots over and pats the bench so Nate can sit down, and Roy again very clearly notices it. So it's not ONLY that, it's just the stated reason. This show has a LOT of tiny rewatch bonuses like that, because it's very well thought through in the direction of the actors and showing little moments like that, which seem inconsequential until later. (No spoilers, but I managed to predict some major season 2 plot points just by rewatching season 1 multiple times and paying attention to little moments and character reactions.)

Transfer window in Football (Soccer) is very weird to me. I've only really ever watched the world cup in the past, so had to look up how it works when my wife and I started watching this.

watch the rocky horror picture show.

"It's the hope that kills you" As an Atlanta Braves fan, I feel that in my soul, even as I'm waiting for Game 1 of the WS to start XD

This show is great. This was my first time watching it too and it was way better than I expected. Are you going to keep going with season 2 next week? I hope so.

Now that you're finished with season 1, this is probably one of the best fan tributes I've ever seen for any show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ0GRfd26S4

yes Jason actually hit his head on the door frame in that take and just kept going. he realized right after that he’d actually cut his head open. nothing serious but ouch 🤕

In the scene where they're compiling the list of trick plays, the background music is "Sweet Georgia Brown," which is the theme song of the Harlem Globetrotters.

If you need a new series between seasons of Ted Lasso, or to replace Hill House, I'd recommend Only Murders In The Building if you're not already watching it.

I subscribed to your Patreon just to listen to your comments on Ted Lasso - it;s like watching my favorite show with a friend! My husband and kids don't want to watch and I'm pretty introverted so I needed someone to watch it with! I can't wait for you to start season 2!! It's so good!

I second this. They had me at "Steve Martin and Martin Short," but I was not expecting to love Selena Gomez that much.
