Several years behind as I am fairly new and still watching through your Marvel reactions, but if you love Scarlett Johansson, you should react to the movie ‘Lucy’.

Erik Stevenson

Oh man, great surprise and pretty excited for the schedule this week!

djKENTO

And here I was wondering how I was going to spend my evening… morning… I got out of bed at 5pm so you get it…

Anakin Starkiller

Oh my IT your butt is going to be sore if your going to watch at once. I'm sure you'll want to split it up.

codenamewitch xx

Wow a fun fun surprise!!!! Making my Monday

Randee Carreno

Happy Marvel Monday, Natalie! 😊 I'm so excited that you're watching "Black Widow"!!! I was honestly holding off on watching it so soon after it came on Disney+ for all subscribers, hoping that you would watch it soon after. Glad that I waited. 😊 I'm downloading this right now so that I can watch it later tonight. So excited to watch the reaction this evening. This week's schedule looks great! Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Sam Kimpton

Hi Nat, FYI, the above Google Drive link is actually the video for A Quiet Place, not Black Widow. :)

JediLounger

If you want to watch a deeper, more complex version of a story like this, you should watch The Americans. It’s excellent.

codenamewitch xx

The young actress that plays young Yelena is also the girl who plays Nellie in Haunting of Hill House - I think she is just great!!!

George Baxter

Yayyy! I may need to deal with my Marvel addiction but for now keep them coming!!!

Curaitis

This will be Torture to watch again but i wanna see Natalies reaction and what she thinks about it.

Joe Blankenship

I knew it! Natalie Romanoff tried to slip one by us.

Anonymous

The actress that plays Young Nat is Milla Jovovich's daughter

Anonymous

You've just made my day :D

Anonymous

Love the reactions and all but does anyone else wish there was early access to the YouTube cuts?

Anonymous

Only MCU Film I can actually call out and out CRAP....sigh; poor Scarlet...

Ben Gilshenan

you should watch Bo Burnhams: inside

Calo Grsf

Hi Nat and Happy Marvel Monday! It's been a long time and a really unexpected time for it, you know how to surprise us haha, I loved your reaction and see how distracted you were while doing this one 😆(the part at the end is worthy of you hahaha) More seriously, I have mixed feelings about this film, but it was a really good time at your side, there was a lot of laughs and yours are truly communicative 😄, but I agree with you, I expected a darker, more serious film for this one, I was disappointed when I saw it the first time, however it's still enjoyable haha About a honeymoon in a country like Norway or Iceland would be just great, these countries are just beautiful and if Tyler and you love nature, don't hesitate, go for it! Finally, I can't wait to watch your next reaction and to hear more about your new "surprise" 😄 On that note, I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Dooly

Oh. 😒

Ian

Happy marvel Monday Nat total surprise this ofcourse I don't have the time to watch it as Mondays is darts night for me so Ted lasso I would of had time but a movie no chance but I will enjoy watching along probably on the weekend but hey love a surprise 🎉 so it's good you keep us on our toes 💛

Tay Schumaker

About that last vial she uses on Taskmaster, they literally show her picking up two vials like 5 minutes before that.

Navjot Singh

Scarjo picked up one vial that was left unbroken from the Red room after Yelena freed the others.

Navjot Singh

I second that. The Americans is a brilliant show about the Cold War and the spy programs run by the respective governments. Also, much more grounded with no superhero stuff. :P

Navjot Singh

If you notice, Scarjo was wearing the same vest in the Infinity War movie.

Anonymous

OMG been waiting for this soooooo long!!!

DapperKnight

You definitely need to watch the Marvel's What If series

chicks dig me

Why is this a surprise?

Anonymous

Because it's Natmare season, so a Marvel movie is a surprise post

Hey Nat! Loved the reaction, and thanks for waiting out until it hit Disney+! To my benefit I didn't really go into Black Widow with any expectations, so I got to really enjoy the comedy from it. I also love how it builds the character of Yelena for us and I'm really excited to see more of her. I don't know whether you've seen the trailer for the Hawkeye series yet, but I'm looking forward to getting to watch your reactions there. To answer a couple of questions, part of Melina and Natasha's plan was activating a tracker to alert Colonel Ross, intending for him to arrive when they landed The Red Room. Obviously landing doesn't quite go to plan, but that is why Ross arrives at the end. You also see Natasha pick up an unexploded vial as she leaves the control office, after Yelena blows a bunch up to free the Widows who were beating Nat. Thankfully that vial survives the freefall and crash landing long enough for Natasha to punch it open into Antonia's face. Excited to see what you have planned for merch! Stay Golden

Brian Jones

This movie just felt like meaningless noise. Easily one of the worst films in the Marvel universe. The action was ridiculously over the top, even for a Marvel movie, and it really wasn't even a Black Widow movie. More a disservice to the character in an attempt to set up a replacement. Why the writers decided to go with insanely over the top action for "stakes", rather than making the stakes more personal and emotional for the character is baffling. We all know Natasha isn't going out in this film, so the action is meaningless. Not to mention completely ruining the Taskmaster character. Red Sparrow was a better Black Widow movie than Black Widow was. And that type of story would have been a FAR more meaningful sendoff for a character that should have had her own film ten years ago.....smh

Anonymous

That's funny, I totally thought she reminded me of someone and it was 100% Milla Jovovich.

Anonymous

Fun as always, Nat! I really do hope you watch the Marvel Netflix shows at some point.

Alex

Yelena is going to be in the Hawkeye show.

ButtyOh

In general i actually quite enjoyed this film, just as much now with a second viewing as the first time But the Taskmaster reveal peed me off. The real taskmaster is called Tony Masters, a mercenary who can perfectly mimic any fighting style he sees. In his time he's gone toe to toe with most of Marvel's top tier heroes

Anthony Campbell

i had Ted Lasso queued up. but this is even better. Plus two Teds tommorrow

Darryl Low

Hope you had a great weekend Nat, and thanks for a great Marvel Monday surprise today. I really enjoyed your reaction to this movie. It certainly has a different tone to the previous MCU movies, a lot more humour, and yes, Florence Pugh is the highlight for me, especially her scene in the car with Natasha talking about her multiple-pocketed vest, and it was a nice touch to see Nat wearing it at the end as part of her outfit for Infinity War. A Florence Pugh movie to check out is Fighting With My Family. It's a great movie and I think you would enjoy it. The lighting at the start of your outro today was pure 40's Film Noir. It looked amazing 😊 I'm loving your new fashions and I can't wait to hear more about them. Thanks for an awesome video today Nat 💛

Fun fact, young Nat is Milla Jovovish's daughter

Ryan

I’ve been eagerly waiting for this but I’ve gotten so into Ted Lasso that I’m almost disappointed, that’s a special show.

Ahadi Gitau

I sooo look forward to this! Can't wait to watch it later today :)

Myles Away

I love the family drama stuff in this movie. I wish this movie leaned more into the dramatic side. I agree with you the action is mostly absurd. I wish they had made it way more grounded.

Dannyb

Enjoyed the majority of the Marvel movies, but this one is absolute garbage, which is such a diservice to ScarJo, who really deserved better. The new Black Widow has definite potential and the only almost saving grace for this film...

Hairy Potter

IMO, they should have released this instead of captain marvel. I get that captain marvel needs a quick intro, but no one really gives a crap after black widow died. The new black widow definitely has a kick to it, but she's way too new to have any real significance. And to think that they have the fvking audacity to use ScarJo like this and to crown this as her solo film, that's rough.

Lisa Tosti

Wow! So much that I'm excited for! I will be buying so much merch once you put it up for everyone! THAT MUG! I NEED IT! Also, I agree with what some said above about What If? Its really good. Also, the Hawkeye show will be coming out in December so you may be able to see that before Shang Chi is available on Disney +. Then the Eternals will be next. So many good things coming up for Marvel! But I'm also excited for double Ted Lasso tomorrow! I'm also wondering if you are going to do some of the movies that have been on your list for a while like Interstellar and Knives Out. I was also thinking the other day that I would love (if you haven't already seen it) if you did Groundhogs Day for Groundhogs day in 2022. Thank you for all the amazing content! I love it so much and its been getting me through some really rough times this year.

Robert Reichle

I was a bit disappointed by this one with the first viewing, but I've seen it twice now (and will make a third time with this reaction video), and it's growing on me for sure. I have to say though, David Harbor steals the show for me. The main two characters aren't nearly as entertaining to me.

Joe Blankenship

I didn't even think about it the first time I watched this, but there are actually 2 Captain America's on the planet at the same time during this movie. There's the one hiding out after Civil War, and there's the one that returned the Infinity Stones and stayed back in time with Peggy. So, Alexei may have actually faced Captain America at some point.

Wu Sha Ling

"gonna die, gonna die..." watched too much GoT methinks

Shen V

My gods, the entire opening of you worrying about everyone dying every other shot was comedy Gold. I hope most of that makes the youtube edit :D

Kevin Bartelen

As far as what's next... Shang-Chi is next in cannon, although not publicly out yet..., but there's also What If... if you want to cover everything even though, as the title implies, it's not actually cannon. And that's everything MCU that's out that you haven't covered yet. Although I heard they plan to make Deadpool MCU as if it always was so I guess you still have some Fox X-Men movies as well maybe...?

Anonymous

What If is canon. It covers other timelines and events in a post Loki MCU. Part of the multiverse

Al Baughman

I'm sure people have already mentioned it but, Florence Pugh will be in the Hawkeye series on Disney+ starting Nov. 24th. Also Shang-Chi will be available on Nov. 12th for Disney+ Day (1 year anniversary) I enjoyed most of Black Widow up until the action sequence at the end which was way too over the top. Nat is not super powered but the director had her doing Ironman/Cap stuff at the end. Overall I'd say 7.5-8/10, bottom quarter of the MCU but I'd have no problem watching it again when it's on TV.

Anonymous

My goodness! Finally saw a Marvel movie I haven’t seen yet! 😜

Matthew Periolat

Great treat and fun watching with you. Glad you got your movie with your favorite character, although I dispute you liking Loki as the top slot. You’re a pretty big fan of Captain Rogers after all. I was really most looking forward to your reaction to the opening credits, something that is honestly both horrifying and arresting - the making of child soldiers, all girls. Something they come back to later. All to the tune of the most wicked Nirvana cover ever. As to the future, there IS What If…?, but I dunno if you are game for that. I personally enjoy it. Shang Chi will be on blu ray November 30th, but on Disney+ starting November 12. Hawkeye will also start November 24th on Disney+ for I believe 8 weeks. More to be announced on Disney+ Day on November 12. We have Eternals in theaters in November, so with the reduced time window, that should be on Disney+ by January/February 2022. Spider-Man in theaters in December, but I dunno it’s release schedule beyond that since it’s Sony. Bottom line: yes, Marvel. But you should have plenty of time in between to watch other stuff to make yourself and fans of other things happy. As for me, “this was fun.” Still Golden… and in the market for merch. Want my plush Koda.

After Xmen, i suggest blade 1 & 2. Get some gritty Marvel vampire action.

Kristine Friling

I am originally from Norway, and no you are not weird. I have no desire to go lay on a beach, I want to go back to Europe and Norway and spend time in the mountains and fjords.

Chris Lane- Venturi 3D

I don't know why some are hating this movie. I quite enjoyed it for the most part. I think some of the action scenes were over the top, but it is Marvel and that's just to be expected at this point. I LOVE YELENA!!! Also, the Draykov's daughter is actually something Loki mentioned in the Avengers movie when he's in the holding cell, regarding Nat's "red on her ledger"....fun callback. Also as someone mentioned the vest Nat wears in Infinity War and End Game.

Rondo

where did you get the gluten free potstickers??? im gluten free and have been craving potstickers for like 6 yrs lol

Anonymous

I really enjoyed this movie. I also thought it would dive more into their backstory. The things they survive in this is very over the top. And the age discrepancies from Nat and Antonia really bother me. But I do like this movie! I’m sure someone already answered this, but if not: the vials she has at the end to free Antonia and give another to Yelena for replicating, came from a quick shot of her picking them off the floor after the widows leave. And Ross shows up because Nat signaled him with a tracker. She mentions this when they cut to one of the moments revealing she and Melina worked together for the abduction/infiltration. And Pugh is fantastic. Midsommar is intense. She’s great in Outlaw/King on Netflix. Was the first time I saw her. Then Fighting With My Family where she plays a WWF wrestler, and then Midsommar and Little Women. She certainly goes for Variety!

Misty Crom

So glad to re-watch this, and with your reacting too... Love Florence in this too. And of course Rachel Weiss and David Harbour... Great fun movie, gives some backstory on Natasha and sets things up well for going forward. Also, Nat' grabbed the 2 vials as she ran out of the room, which also is when she let Ross know where she was. She was transferring the data... sending it all to him most likely. Also, there is a Hawkeye series coming in November. Due to start on the 24th according to Wikipedia. Also-also, not related to this film, but that is kinda awesome that I just saw... They're giving Agatha from WandaVision her own series too!

Yani Dodge

I have mixed feelings about this one, I love the deep emotional vulnerable scenes like you were saying, but the action a bit over the top and Black Widow definitely should have died multiple times throughout. Natasha Romanoff deserved a trilogy, or at least a solo movie before she was cannonically dead, but I'm thankful for what we got. The widows really reminded me of victims of sex trafficking and that also hit me hard which made the ending where Natasha refused to leave until she had every single name, mean a lot. I wish the end credit was just Yelena crying/mourning over Natasha so we could all cry too XD You should watch What If... too! I'd love to see you react to them :) Thanks for always bringing a smile to my day, stay golden!

Zach Strand

Next MCU entry is the series, “What If?” I hope you watch that. It’s a ton of fun for those who have followed the MCU up to this point.

Rick Runge

Florence Pugh might have an appearance in Hawkeye starting in November

Rick Runge

I thought I read somewhere she did such a great job in Black Widow they wrote her into the show late. That's good news if I was wrong.

Julia

I'm practically throwing my money at you for that mug rn... I have a collection and it would be a perfect addition :') Can't wait to hear more about it!! I'm 90% only watching this movie for Florence Pugh, David Harbour, and you, but excited nevertheless!

Connor Ellis

Please remember 'What if?' That's MCU.

Travis

Natasha grabbed two vials off the ground after she fought all the girls. That’s why she had one at the end with Taskmaster.

Marcus Carter

yes don't forget about the what if series because it is canon to the mcu, I'm sure the series is going to have some effect on the movies on down the line, I just don't know to what capacity. It is worth checking out because definitely give you a little insight on what the next phase of the mcu is going to be about, THANKS LOKI AND SILVIE!!!

Ethan yeoman

This is a world with aliens, gods, and magic, and you found it hard to believe the part about the pheromones.

Kate Herzig

I have issues with this movie for sure, but none of them are the situations Nat finds herself in because if the world can accept John Wick, we can accept Black Widow. Which kinda just leaves small details that I couldn't help but notice. Like how when they're all "captured" Yelena's hair was in those braids and then she's on the table with a half up do. When did that happen?!

Matthew

Pretty early on, the film tips its hand what kind it's going to be when Nat is watching -- and quoting -- "Moonraker."

warcrimes

Extremely mediocre movie.

Shawn E Mercado

I don't know how welcome suggestions are but I have one: Cobra Kai. It's like, aggressively stupid, but still a lot of fun.

Anonymous

I think the idea behind the weird singing scene was that Alexi never once says the right thing when trying to comfort Yelana. He's so self obsessed and she thinks he never cared about her as a daughter. The song was her favorite song as a kid so showing her that he remembered it is his way of showing that he cared the barest minimum amount possible.

Garrick Smalley

In answer to the question "...did not anyone think this was a little ridiculous?" Yes, yes we did. That for me was the saving grace of this movie.

Ellis Hugh

I can't believe they absolutely ruined an incredible villain that everyone was so excited about just to make a #MeToo movie. There are only three males of significance in the film - a cartoonish bad guy who actually says 'the world has too many little girls', a beta who just whines and does whatever he's told in a desperate bid for recognition and a deadbeat dad who's only redeeming value is that he's also a punchline. There were so many opportunities to make this a really great movie - they even set up the perfect opportunity for Red Guardian to sacrifice himself against Taskmaster to save his daughters and redeem himself with the whole 'This'll be the day that I die' line, but instead he just bails on his daughters (again) because even a slightly positive male character would be a problem. Meanwhile literally every woman in the film is simultaneously a victim and a hero who only ever does bad things because a MAN actually makes them do it. The film also has a ton of unnecessary plot holes - why did Natasha choose to surrender to Ross and how was she magically free a week or two later to help break the other Avengers out of the Raft? Black Widow deserved better, Red Guardian deserved better, Taskmaster deserved better and we deserved better. As an aside, a great little tidbit, the scene where Yelena is messing with Natasha about the 'fighting pose' was added after an off-set conversation between the two actresses on the very subject was overheard, and it was included almost verbatim.

Anonymous

I want to start off by saying that I completely understand the disappointment that Taskmaster as a character wasn't true to the comics. It's happened with many different movies/shows and it always sucks for people that are actually fans of the character from the comics. That being said, how many dozens of movies have you seen that have a cast of men with only three (or even less) women of significance? And they're whole contribution to the plot, as characters, is being "earned" by the men? That's one of the most common tropes in film but I'm guessing you have less of a problem with that. And yeah, how dare they make a movie highlighting that women are constantly mistreated by men in horrific ways? It's not like movies ever have parallels or reflections of our reality. I also really love your honest and un-ironic use of the word "beta". Really makes it clear the kinds of subreddits you frequent. Again, I get that it sucks that a character you love was portrayed in a very different way to what you wanted/expected, but most of your post just makes it sound like you've got some prejudice towards women shaping your thinking. In conclusion, Touch grass.

Edward Of DOOM

I still don't know what happened in Budapest.

Christopher

She picked up the last of the vials in Dreykov's office before leaving, you see her grab them off the floor.

Kevin

Valentina is assembling the Dark Avengers.

dieselbeast

I enjoyed this movie alot, I'm so glad I don't have any knowledge of what happens in the comics it seems people who do are always disappointed on some level, my only knowledge of marvel history are the video games I played as kid and the 90s animations lol Florence Pugh is my new crush 🥰 loved her in this, Rachel weiz will always be Evie to me 🌹and Scarlett jo is always a pleasure to watch on screen 🌹

Troy B.

I had tried to watch this movie before, but didn't make it past the girls getting separated and then the depressing/traumatic footage of the girls beind rounded up during the Nirvana cover, but it was the one MCU movie I still needed to see, so I figured I'll try it with this commentary, and I'm glad I did! I didn't realize that once I got past that portion, it would be relatively easygoing (with a few exceptions here and there). I assume this means you'll be watching Hawkeye at some point? Also, considering how much Natasha survived in this movie, I'm surprised falling for the Soul Gem was so permanent. =T

YodatheHobbit

The last vial came from when she picked it up off the floor after freeing all the widows who were attacking her, weren't you paying attention?

The Dingo

You're right - the movie started off as a great potential drama/spy movie, and quickly became absurd. To me this was two movies - the sad reunion of two sisters (the good), but as soon as the whole "break Alexei out" part started, it just got worse and worse. This is one of the worst Marvel movies, to me any way.
