Happy Westeros Wednesday, Natalie! 😊 I'm downloading this right now to watch later tonight. Looking forward to watching this new GoT reaction this evening. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Happy westeros Wednesday Nat looking forward to seeing if you as I suspect needed tissues for this one, another of our favs departs sadly, some characters meet for the first time I'm pretty excited to see your reaction ngl, and to see if you're fingers crossed feeling much better 💛

john collins

All the people of Kings Landing have only been told what the Lanisters tell them so they believe that these people are evil because of the propaganda against them. Also Theon's character progression doesn't mean he doesn't have PTSD or isn't still a broken character. He was never comfortable with the greyjoys even up to the end he was serving ale for his sister and the vipress still acting like Reek

TrackHoodie

Regarding theons character progression at this point, I interpreted it as "the talk" he had with yara was not really productive. Her advice was "suck it up or kill yourself". Not really the best way to heal a broken person like theon. It goes to show how mental problems are not simply solved by a flip of a switch, an ever complicated issue and treatment.

Hello Nat, and thank you for your nice reaction! I love your reaction with Littlefinger, you hate him so much 😆, little mention for the emotional moment where you you empathize with Cersei because she lost her children (your heart is so 💛) and the moment in Winterfell the scene where Sansa goes to see Bran again, and you were excited like a booklice thinking it was Arya, just perfect 😄 I can't wait for your next great reactions haha I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Brandon

Regardless of how I feel about these last few seasons, I probably wouldn't have rewatched them any time soon without these reactions to see them in a new way. 😄 "We were never fighters." And at around 9:57 PM every book reader groaned in unison. Because I try to be an optimist, the production is absolutely beautiful. I just wish we got to see more scenes set in Casterly Rock and High Garden before this episode because those locations are amazing.

Great reaction great thoughts after. thanks for what you do, such a fun way to relive the show.

Peter Yocum

Yeah, considering one of my biggest issues with the show's development (final 2 seasons especially) is it leaned way too heavily on cheap fan service (like letting favorite characters survive events where clearly some of them should have died), in contrast to when realistically depressing horrible things were THE hallmark of what made the show and books special initially; after that, I thought it was a welcome return to realism that Theon wasn't completely cured, noble, and heroic, in spite of good intentions and wanting/trying to be, but was still very damaged and limited in how much he could live up to what he wanted to be.

Darryl Low

Another fantastic Westeros Wednesday. A lot going on in this episode. I loved the scene between Sam and Jorah, the handshake, and then Jorah looking to the light. What a great shot. "Impenetrable, whatever" We got the gist of it Nat 😄 and I enjoyed your Aria for Arya, even though it was Bran showing up he he. Thanks for another great video today 💛

MertzRocks

"Give me ten good men (and some climbing gear) and I'll impregnate the bitch" is what Bronn said after seeing the Eyrie from a distance and being told it was impregnable. Tyrion was quoting Ser Bronn of the Blackwater.

Anonymous

Tyrion was quoting Braun "give me 10 good men...." for once he was NOT quoting himself... lol

Anonymous

Also, not really stated in the show very obviously... but Euron is the greatest sea captain in the world.

WackySwacky

I know right. It's like saying the French were never great fighters. Completely ridiculous, child-like logic. Of course we know that it was written this way because they just wanted to quickly wrap up this storyline.

Ilsuk Yang

So, when Tyrion was talking about the sewers and "impregnating the *****," he was actually quoting Bron, not himself. I love the queen of thorns death scene. She's like, I know I'm gonna die, but I'm gonna throw a haymaker before I go!

Tranquil_Gnome

Yes, one of the flaws of this season. People and armies seem to move in the blink of the eye from North to South, East to West. The show does not have the time to play things in realistic times. And in two episodes, the Dragon Army loses 3 allies. It would have been nice if all of this played out over the whole season. And I'm sorry. I disagree with Jamie's reaction to hearing the confession of the Queen of Thorns. If I were him I would have stabbed her somewhere painful. Maybe not kill her as she was already going to die. More likely I would have stabbed her thru her heart. RIP Dianna Rigg. Thank you for all the wonderful roles over the years. If you ever get the chance, watch Evil Under the Sun with her and so many more good people.

sheriffjt

It bothers me how Theon's PTSD is characterized as cowardice. Also, humans tend not to follow defined rules of character development, only cookie-cutter roles from TV...

Mike Api

Anytime you find yourself saying, "this doesn't make sense," you're completely right. The creators of the show really phoned it in a bunnnnnnch of times throughout the latter half of the series. There's good stuff, okay stuff, and then a bunch of absolute nonsense.

Anonymous

Is sad to see what the show end up being. And don't give me that "there was no more source material left because D&D decided to ignore more than 1700 pages of content to speed up and simplify everything so they can go to do the Star Wars shit that they never did, instead of passin the torch so other could make the thirteen season that HBO and George R. R. Martin wanted.

Derik Knutson

Well I mean that's not true, there has been plenty of times that she's said "this doesn't make sense" that she's been wrong. So I'm not exactly sure why you're speaking in absolutes.

Derik Knutson

It's almost like trauma isn't something that can be cured with one strong talking to from your sister. That is what wouldn't make sense. Since you're so obsessed with finding things that don't make sense.

Alan Kobb

When Bran's vision of the baby became Jon, that was the producer's way of saying that Jon is Rhaegar and Lyanna's son, so Daenarys is Jon's aunt, although neither of them realize this. this is a big deal because it is truly the first really big bombshell that the books have not yet revealed. This is the answer to a long-term fan theory that was commonly called "R+L=J". It all dates back to the scandal at the Touranment in Harrenhall where Rhaegar passed his wife, Elia Martell and gave a bouquet of winter roses to Lyanna. This ended up with Rhaegar supposedly kidnapping Lyanna, impregnating her and leaving her in the Tower of Joy when he went to defend his father's crown in Robert's Rebellion. After he died, Ned Stark went to the Tower of Joy, but Lyanna had been badly injured in childbirth and was dying. Lyanna made her brother make her a promise, but Ned would never tell anyone what that promise was. Assuming that Jon was born out of wedlock, his name would not be Jon Snow, but Jon Sand, since he is a bastard born in Dorne. The producers told a story that when they first pitched the idea for the show to George R.R. Martin, he wanted to measure if they were truly fans of his work as they claimed, so he asked them who they thought was Jon's mother. They guessed that it was Lyanna with Rhaegar. There are plenty of hints in the books that this may be the case, but Martin has also left plenty of evidence that Jon might be someone eles's child, such as Ashara Dayne of Starfall. "Give me ten good men and some climbing spikes and I'll impregnate the bitch." - Sir Bronn of the Blackwater, Season 1 - In reference to the Eyrie

Paul Gibbons

Of course Martin and HBO wanted 13 seasons, Martin getting a fat paycheck each year while doing nothing and Hbo staying with the only thing people had Hbo for back in the day fact of the matter was they didn't want to stump up more cash for these seasons and we got a quicker ending than most wanted. You must be the 10th person on here that's been corrected that the end of the show was announced nearly 2 1/2 years before the Star Wars thing. And I would have ignored most of book 4/5 too Martin added way to many new characters and perspectives while sidelining OG characters and making things so complicated we have had no follow up in 10 years and no ending likely. Just as it's content it didn't make it good content.

Dante

Kinda scary that Nat considers PTSD cowardice

Guy-on-Couch

I really hope Nat doesn't read these comments until after she finishes the series...some of these comments are either toxic like or almost give things away....let her figure stuff out on her own...remember there was no one telling you these things when the episodes first aired...just let her enjoy the rest without the stigmatism of it being terrible because it wasn't all bad...there are some amazing moments still to come....

Christopher

PTSD is cowardice, learned something new today

Leaf on the Wind

Theon's backpedal was an intentional move by the show writers. They wanted to show that trauma like what he faced doesn't just go away, and at this point in his life, he's not ready to be a prisoner again.

The reason I always assumed that the she told Jamie the truth after drinking the poison was the knowledge, that the death would be swift regardless... As in there was no way that they could get her from High Garden back to King's Landing for more extreme torturous scenarios as Jamie mentioned previously... She calculated that the worst case scenario at that point was pain for a short period of time. Regardless of Jamie's actions nothing would stop her dying fairly quickly from the poison.

Ellis Hugh

It's been established in a previous episode through Bran's visions that Jon is the son of a Stark (Lyana) and a Targaryen (Rhaegar)... so he's both. Ice AND Fire. Dany's little speech of self-confidence in the throne room reveals how much of her mania, her almost fanatical belief in herself as some sort of divine-right conqueror, is beginning to creep in... not every birthright of Targaryen blood is benign. Theon's flight from Euron made perfect sense. There was absolutely nothing he could do to help his sister... NOTHING... except to survive long enough to rescue her. Something to keep in mind about Bran's powers... it's kind of like having access to Wikipedia. You have access to all the knowledge of the world, but you only know what you've looked up. If you haven't looked it up, you might not even know it's there to seek out. Every theater friend I have has a tendency to break out in song when they're excited about something... or nervous about something. It's delightful to see that isn't isolated to my experience. The next episode is widely considered one of the best of the entire series, by most critics and fans alike.

MisturSmith

Nothing has been confirmed my guy, only that she was pregnant and died in childbirth. Please don't spoil things like this and maybe edit/delete that section and repost your comment

Myles Away

Theon's storyline is realistic. Him being changed by a single conversation would be 90s sitcom fake. The people of King's Landing still believe the propaganda they are more than likely fed. Even if they don't love Cersei they are still nationalistic.

WackySwacky

Sansa this episode: "Hey dumbass armorsmith, yeah you the dumb asshole who has been making armor his whole life and outfitting armies. I've instantly spotted a flaw in your method and improved the quality of your work with 5 seconds of observation." Bran this episode: "Hey Sansa, remember that night when that horribly abusive psychopath beat and raped you? Ya remember that night? You looked beautiful that night."

DarkJokester

@No Spoiler...... There were alot weird unexplained things happening in season 7 and 8. Smart characters are now morons, everyone has fast travel hack which didn't exist in the earlier 6 seasons and Daenerys not going for Kings Landing as the first place to set foot on Westeros. There are more instances that I can mention but that would be spoiler.

Trepanation21

We've seen, and can see as we speak, how dictatorships tend to mysteriously have a lot of people acting like they love the regime. I have no doubt that the lowborn and highborn of King's Landing and its banners are... mainly interested in not being the next group to be incinerated, or... any number of cruel fates they've witnessed under the golden fist of the Red Keep over the last few years.

Tom Fehr

saying the guy with the world's most intense PTSD "pussied out" is pretty cringe inducing

Anonymous

Man Nat's nitpicking is getting tiring

StarryEyes

can we kill the "cringe" phase we entered..everybody and their brother thinks using the word makes them seem edgy or hip..or something even dumber..makes me cringe

Anonymous

Nitpicking? I think you mean fair critism against an awfull script

My_Cousin_Mose

First off- great reaction! I often agree with your assessment of this show and often disagree, and so the wheel turns. Here- I disagree with your assessment of Theon's regression. Agreed it was character regression but that does happen. I don't think he was quite as far along with "becoming Theon" again as you suggest, he still is extremely meek and frightened. Yara's talk did seem to work on him but the kind of changes that would bring on would be slow burning. Nothing but time can heal Theon's wounds. I will agree- for Theon to have tried to save Yara and died in the process would have been a great way to end his story...but then again I'm a Reek fan! So this was great too.

My_Cousin_Mose

Why are the people applauding for Cersi? The common rabble has a memory that stretches as far back as their last meal. These people know nothing about the politics of the country (and theres no way they would be able to know) and cheered for Ned Stark one day and cheered for his head a fortnight later. Tell them you killed a foreign invader (who was really just some wanderer the guards found) and they'll cheer you on as their savior. They have no news source at all besides word of mouth, as 90% or more of the general population was extremely poor and illiterate. I imagine they spread propaganda as well, and the people would have no way to fact check anything, these were seriously different times.

AC5555

Yes, she seems to forget PTSD really is difficult. It's all about progression and regression.

LightsCameraJake

Theon regressing is because of a little known thing called "PTSD" its not really a hard concept to understand why in that situation after all he went though that he acted as he did. Not "Pussy out" as you call it. This is a very expected reaction from theon.
