Happy Marvel Monday, Natalie! 😊 It's a Loki Day!!!! I'm so excited for you to get started on this new show. Tom Hiddleston is phenomenal as always as the God of Mischief. This first episode is one of my favorite episodes of the show. And I love Owen Wilson as Mobius. When I first watched this I had no idea that Tom Hiddleston & Owen Wilson were in a movie together before this show. It's called "Midnight in Paris" from 2011. I might have to check that movie out. Like with Anthony Mackie & Sebastian Stan, Tom & Owen's real life friendship really shows through throughout their scenes together. You can tell they are having fun. I really love Tom's performance during the scene where Loki is watching the events of his life from "Thor: Ragnarok" to "Infinity War". He was so happy to learn how much Thor and Odin loved him. They really were his family. The next episode is also a really good one. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Yesss Loki!!!! 🤗🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 although Wandavision still my favorite 😅

Darryl Low

Happy Marvel Monday Nat. Looking forward to watching your favourite trickster with you. Your enthusiasm for the show was infectious, and I enjoyed it more second time around. As for mixing up the GOT theme and the Marvel intro, you had the right notes, just not in the right order 😄 Thanks for today's video Nat 💛

Anonymous

Enjoy the rollercoaster ride. Loved Loki, but quite different for any other MCU stories.

Dave M.

YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kelvin

You'll be all caught up soon

Travis

Top 5 greatest TV theme song of all time. Gives me chills.

Chris H

I vote Cabin in the Woods for Natmares if you haven't seen it already! That would be a fun watch along.

Anonymous

Wooo! I loved Wandavision, but I think this managed to beat it for me? Love the atmosphere and production design, as well as the score. Pumped to see what you think!🤘🏾

Jon Hoover

Well, Nat you are ahead of me. I've yet to start Loki. I was there for opening weekend for every MCU movie, but the TV shows have been disappointing for me, even though I enjoyed FAWS a lot more than Wanda.

Jomero

Hooray! Excited to see this reaction! Loki is head and shoulders above the other Marvel D+ shows (and the others aren't bad at all). And it helps to know Nat is a huge Loki fan.

Kevin

Quite the opposite for me, in my opinion, WandaVision was a great show, FAWS was a bit underwhelming. Everyone LOVES Loki though, take my word for it. This show changes the ENTIRE MCU by the finale.

Navjot Singh

His birth father, aka the frost giant's name was Laufey. Hence, Laufeyson. Also, Google DB Cooper. :D It's a real story.

Anonymous

Yay! This is my favorite D+ series so far! Laufey is the king of the frost giants of Jotunheim, and Loki is his son. Thus Loki Laufeyson.

Derik Knutson

Totally missed that he was D.B. Cooper

Dante

So excited for this!!!

Ben

I would consider adding ginger, zinc and vitamin D to your list of supplements, Nat.

SmokeAndACoffee

The Fear Street movies on Netflix were really good!

Kevin

The Loki series finale is by far the most impactful thing that has happened in the MCU. Completely changed everything.

Ian Forbes

If you want to give yourself a breather during the scary stuff but still stay in the Halloween spirit, watch The Monster Squad. Fun 80s flick about kids battling the classic Universal monsters.

Joe Mama

I’m probably in the minority and obviously I can just not watch it, but all the marvel stuff back to back is a bit much for me. But I guess that’s how some people felt about the GoT posts who don’t like that.

WackySwacky

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the TVA video that Loki watches basically explains that there is no such thing as freewill in the MCU. If that's the case, then that sort of ruins all of the previous Marvel movies, because none of the characters in those movies had the freewill to choose anything. If the characters didn't do exactly what the TVA wanted them too, they would have been melted by a TVA agent. This is a significant change to the MCU, but I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Christopher Boscarino

The plane robbery was a real thing that happened- D.B Cooper. The Marvel writers just included the real life plane hijacking into the Loki mythos. https://www.fbi.gov/history/famous-cases/db-cooper-hijacking

Calo Grsf

Hi Nat and thanks for this great reaction! 😃 Well, your immune system likes to play with you haha (I totally understand your inconvenience, my pollen allergy came back this year and the last two weeks were horrible haha), I hope you feel better since you saw the episode 💛 Finally here you are! I'm happy to see you enjoying this first episode! 😄 Tom Hiddleston is really great in his role, I love him haha Concerning the next Natmare season (I can't wait for it haha), I hope it won't be too hard for you, and then there will always be Koda to give you cuddles and cheer you up! 😄 I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Joe Blankenship

Wow, I’m amazed that you didn’t know Owen Wilson is in this. Good job avoiding spoilers. Also, I’d like to nominate “It Follows” for Natmares.

Jomero

Which is funny, since Laufey in actual Norse myth was a woman.

Anonymous

Being a Hiddleston fan and Natmares coming up might I suggest Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak from 2015.

Edina Lewis

Thor Odinson, son of Odin. Loki Laufeyson, son of Laufey, king of the frost giants.

Essero Eson

Time travel isn't a thing in the Marvel Universe either. Thanks to the influence of several Dan Harmon alumni, they did the multiverse correctly in the MCU, so when they are "time traveling" they are actually jumping between different universes where time flows faster or slower therefore the universe they go to is ahead or behind in time. That's why you can't change the past, you are always in the present.

THE LORE!!!

For Natmares, I have to suggest The Fly with Jeff Goldblum. I think that would leave her quite a number of things to talk about. And I was surprised no reaction to Loki being D.B. Cooper, I guess I thought he was universally infamous?

Dave M.

I hope it's not the Delta Variant that you got....it can disguise itself as a cold. Speaking of Variants.... HA! I'm sorry to hear you haven't been feeling like yourself lately. Being sick suckssss! 😞 Get well soon, Natalie! ❤️

The Golgothan

It may just be the sadist in me talking because I know you hate zombies (but that's the point), this Natmare season, I'm recommending George A. Romero's Dead trilogy. That's Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead. (Of course I mean the originals, not the remakes)

Matthew Shaver

I agree with Nat. The art direction for the TVA is so great.

Stefan Johannsson

Clearly Natalie has no idea who D.B. Cooper is, lol. Real life person and an incredible story - google it and you'll get it. They were insinuating that Loki was D.B. Cooper all along hence why he was never found again.

Navjot Singh

Nope. He is not famous at all. Maybe to the Americans he is. I read about him after I saw the first trailer for Loki.

Dave M.

https://www.fbi.gov/history/famous-cases/db-cooper-hijacking "DB Cooper" is a real story.

Steve J

great reaction, you're asking all the right questions of the show about what's going on. I think you'll really enjoy the direction this goes in. I think one complaint people had about the series is that it can get pretty 'talk-y' between action scenes, but I found some of the banter to be the best part of the show. Things like Owen and Tom playing off each other are so engaging.

Tranquil_Gnome

Love it! Great cast, great sets, great idea for a story. And Tom on top of all that.! Enjoy, Nat.

Ilsuk Yang

Well, Nat, you're not exactly the first person to fan-girl over Tom Hiddleston!

john collins

Just a quick reminder for as to why the avengers didn't expect to affect the timeline, they planned to go back in time to get the infinity stones, it was in the past that Bruce spoke with the Sorcerer Supreme from Dr. Strange and she explained that if you took the stones it would make alternate timelines that could be disastrous, because of this, Bruce decides basically they will take the stones but promise to come back to the time they took them from and return them to that exact moment so that there will be no branching paths in time. The problem is that the avengers fail to get the space stone in 2012 and as such Loki ends up with the teseract, the solution Tony comes up with is to use his and Steve's Pem Particles that were meant to be for their trip home to go further into the past to a point where they could steal both the teseract and new Pem Particles so they could return to the present with the space stone. Now that works out great and they beat Thanos and save everyone who disappeared BUT when Steve goes back in time at the ending of End Game he puts all of the stones back where they found them, however, since they did not retrieve the space stone from 2012 he could not return it to that time, and he didn't think to correct the timeline by making sure Loki didn't escape. So the Loki that had escaped with the teseract was able to keep it and now we are here. Hopefully that wasn't too confusing lol

Ron K

I've heard those same complaints although I've never understood why it's an issue when you've got great actors playing interesting characters delivering great dialogue.

Connor Ellis

Thor Odinson Loki Laufeyson. Because he's Laufey's son.

Connor Ellis

There are only 6 infinity stones. They are all from different universes.

RebRox65

WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS So it has occurred to me that I must be the only person on earth not to have liked this show, which is strange for me as I’m normally the one that likes things when no one else dose. I feel this story line is just too big, I mean it’s time, life and everything we’re dealing with here it’s bigger than endgame, and Loki is the one to save out very existence, no averages available, so everyone and everything that came before is in question. No not having that, what’s the point then, and I’m not a fan of more than one Loki?? Multiverse and time travelling, DC beat you to it Marvel. I absolutely loved WONDERVISION, WINTER Soldier and WHAT IF….Always liked Loki as a character but this is very weak show and missed opportunity to do some amazing with such a great character. 👎

Philip

If a horror movie gets too bad, you should try chasing it with a Christmas movie right after. I always have Charlie Brown's Christmas ready when I'm watching a horror movie, and it normally helps

Anonymous

As much as that would be an epic watch, Natalie constantly reminds us during the Game of Thrones series how much she hates ZOMBIES in particular. I can see her slogging through maybe ONE zombie movie, but not a whole trilogy, unfortunately.

Anonymous

My suggestion for Natmares would be Francis Ford Coppola's take on Bram Stoker's Dracula. It may not be too scary and that's why everyone overlooks it, but it IS a classic Creature Feature with some stunning cinematography that I think would be right up Natalie's alley. Not to mention it stars channel-favorite GARY OLDMAN as the iconic vampire. (And it is one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time.) Other honorable mentions for spooky vampire movies would be 30 Days of Night for a unique spin on the genre, or the foreign film Let The Right One In.

MakaPeji

Here we go, everyone love's some Loki. This is really the 3rd or 4th best D+ show out so far. They really try to do the most, like that D B Cooper scene. If you don't get your hopes up, this series is enjoyable to see. Lotta talking though.

Papi Dillion

Loki Laufeyson (Son of Laufey) just like Thor Odinson (Son of Odin)

chicks dig me

This is a full reaction, right?

Kevin Bartelen

Just so you know, there is only one post credits scene for this one in the very last episode, and it's very short, you may not notice it if you're just scrolling through looking. Also if the number of movies were based on the amount of comics, none of them would ever end as the comics are very much still going. The real timer is how long does Chris Hemsworth want to keep playing Thor, his contract was up same time as Cap and Iron Man, but he wanted to sign on for another one so we probably have at least three more and then we'll see how he feels at that point.

Choof

There is one in episode 4 and kinda one in the final episode

This_Jedi_crafts

I don't think anyone has mentioned it - but when the TVA (Miss Minutes) is doing her overview thing, she mentions a "Nexus event" - the tie-in (I think) - is from WandaVision - what Wanda did (to create that world with Vision and the kids, I think) is considered a Nexus event. I think they (Marvel/ Disney) are trying to tie in (prep viewers/ fans) for the "MultiVerse of Madness." "What If" is exploring that very issues- "What if" things didn't turn out (within the MCU) as we have witnessed them (over the last 10 years/ 22 or so, films). I think Marvel/ Disney are doing a good job of trying to catapult the audience into the next phase.

Jeff E

FYI...Not a spoiler, but as of right now, Loki isn't supposed to be in the new Thor movie, which is called, "Thor: Love & Thunder." At least that's what Tom Hiddleston has said.

Shadowen

The plane scene is also just a fun throw away joke that Loki is D.B. Cooper, a man who in real life hijacked a plane, ransomed it for $200,000(1.28 million today) and was never caught after jumping out of the plane.

Thomas Yanez

"I guess it depends on how many comic books there are." LOL, most of these heroes in the MCU go back to at least the '60s, so you have 50 years of comic books for everybody ... Thor, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, the X-Men, etc. etc. etc - they all go back. Some, have ties going back even earlier, like the 30's and 40's. So... yeah... there are a lot of comics.

Event Horizon for October

Steve J

I think it's even more than that? in that Wanda is a 'Nexus being' meaning that she can't have any variants? I understood it as there will always only be one Scarlett Witch in the multiverse along with whatever the other few Nexus beings there are. But that might just be me projecting that interpretation onto the MCU, excited to find out though.

It Hurt A Lot

I am stoked for Tyler's film. Please let us know how we can see it when it's completed. I know that may be a while down the road

Steve J

I wouldn't put it past them to have done that whole sequence just to be able to throw it into the trailers. Almost like a misdirect but is actually part of the show, but out of context it's just a "WTF is going on with Loki as DB Cooper... ?" moment. lol

jamie jones

Natmares- the girl with all the gifts

Marty McGee

I think the confusion is because of the deliberate way Laufeyson is pronounced. In the movies whenever the names are used there is an emphasis on the "son" almost turning it into 2 words. In this show Laufeyson is pronounced more lazily like an actual name like "Goldman" or "Coulson." I think I even remember Thor referring to Phil as "Son of Coul." It seems like a deliberate choice to show Loki he's insignificant in the TVA.

Marty McGee

I don't think I'll be able to watch your Natmares series. Maybe some of the milder ones or the more tongue-in-cheek stuff. Being scared just isn't my thing. Silence of the Lambs is about my limit on that stuff. For light-hearted or more spoof I would suggest Fright Night from the 80's or The Burbs with Tom Hanks. If you watch some of the 90's stuff like Scream or I Know What You Did Last Summer (which are a bit milder), then you'll definitely get a kick out of Scary Movie afterwards. One that creeped me out but was well done is Signs. The tension building throughout the movie is crazy. A lot of people didn't like it, but I think it's one of the better M. Night Shyamalan movies.

Texas Anla'Shok

Loki using his powers: as Tony said, "Performance issues..."

Myles Away

The art direction, cinematography, and score are all top notch for this show. In particular, the score. I love it so much. It fits the tone of the show perfectly and sets such a mood.

Re: Loki's last name: Asgard seems to follow old Nordic surnames where the last name is a compounding of "son of this person" or "daughter of this person". Thor's last name is Odinson, because he's literally the son of Odin. Loki was raised as an Asgardian by Odin, but his birth father was the frost giant Laufey (from the first Thor movie), thus his last name is Laufeyson. (In infinity War, during his speech to Thanos before attempting to stab him, he names himself Odinson out of love for Thor.) You might wonder "what about the daughters?" The suffix in that case is "-dottir" (think Chernoybl miniseries composer Hildur Guðnadóttir)

I was impressed when you knew Eugene Cordero's name right off the bat. He's already had a good deal of good work, but much of it as they say 'genre'. Then you remember him - and his name - from a time when you auditioned him! Most intriguing and cool. I doubt anyone that auditioned me would recall my name, even if they did recall my face. I hope when the mysteries of Natalie Gold begin to be revealed, that you will be able to continue your reactions! They are some of the last shreds of greatness on the web-wilde-world! "She's not girl who misses much.....".... (C;

—thoughtstorms—Keith—

Burbs! Yes, Marty, great calls in your entire message! Signs was outstanding. I think my absolute favourite Shyamalan joint! I hope he 'finds his swing' once again because several of his have been --- decidedly inferior the Signs and Sixth Sense.

Yani Dodge

I haven't watch ed it yet, but if you're looking for scary movie recommendations, PLEASE watch A Quiet Place! I can't really do scary movies but that one was amazing :)

—thoughtstorms—Keith—

Good choices! I haven't seen LtR1I, but the rest are solid picks! I'm also recommending the recent Netflix series called - say it with me, everyone - Dracula! It truly takes the over-mined tale in new directions. Just 3 episodes (so far? not sure if there will be any more) but my usual genuine complaint of too few episodes doesn't factor in here - because each is around 90 minutes! I think our gracious Golden host will really like the show and it is manageable length.

—thoughtstorms—Keith—

I want to formally recommend the recent Netflix series called - say it with me, everyone - Dracula! It truly takes the over-mined tale in new directions. Just 3 episodes (so far? not sure if there will be any more) but my usual genuine complaint of too few episodes doesn't factor in here - because each is around 90 minutes! I think you will really like the show and it is of a manageable length.

Misty Crom

As you can possibly tell already, you're not likely to be disappointed with this series. I... really don't want to say anything so as not to give anything away; but I'm very impressed you were surprised by Owen Wilson. I try to avoid spoilers, but I think I knew that one before-hand. All I will say is that many people consider this the best Marvel series yet. I think I agree. I really liked WandaVision... Actually, maybe I'd say they're even for me. Was curious at your recognising so instantly the actor playing the desk clerk. ... But then I did the same thing with Ashely Johnson (Beth - the waitress form the first Avengers that Mobius shows Loki) and Tara Strong as Miss Minutes (orange clock of exposition). As a slight aside, I've seen the first What If... Episode also and personally loved it. Nothing more than that being said, As for Natmares (great name btw. simple, catchy, punny)... I'd say that if you can, try Dark Shadows - it's very halloweeny, but not to... scary. Also perhaps Van Helsing, staring Hugh Jackman... and maybe 1999 classic, The Mummy, starring Brendan Fraser. I'd say it counts. If you're on your own though, don't watch Blair With Project. Or not if you want to sleep for the next week.

—thoughtstorms—Keith—

I only know a handful from this list (i can't abide most horror...). Cabin in the Woods is a masterpiece's masterpiece! Slither is a delightful exception to most horror missteps and misdeeds. Nightmare Before Christmas is magnificent, maybe for December instead? Corpse Bride is way less traumatising and horrific than most suggestions i've been seeing so far - and has a metric tonne of charm. I would also add: Coraline - from a classic book by Intergalactic Treasure Neil Gaiman Haunting of Hill House is excruciatingly great. Best scary series in a LONG damned time. Might seem too long for Octoberween, but i say to anyone -- it is infinitely more than mere terror. A few steps better than Nflix's next season in that (hopefully on-going!) anthology series, the still quite outstanding: The Haunting of Bly Manor Penny Dreadful is decidedly worth a viewing, too. 3 seasons, very engaging.

Myles Away

For Natmares: - The Witch (2015) - Mandy (2018) - Bram Stokers Dracula (1992) - The Lost Boys (1987) - The Return of the Living Dead (1985) - Halloween (1978) - Color out of Space (2019) - Grindhouse Double Feature: Planet Terror/Death Proof (2007) - Scream (1996)

Jordan Freemyer

Well, with Natmares coming and Game of Thrones wrapping up, might I suggest Ted Lasso as a series to watch, seeing as it's kind of the opposite of all that and would be a nice break.

Holly R

The scene in Infinity War when Loki names himself "Odinson" always gets me. It's a tiny little moment, but it means so much. On Natmares, I've seen some people suggest some things, I'm just going to repeat: -Cabin in the Woods (now that you've seen a number of the other classic horror movies, this is perfect) -Haunting of Hill House (short series on Netflix, and amazingly done..such great character work, and the horror aspect is beautifully balanced)

Jim

End Credit Scenes are episode 4 and 6, the one on episode 4 is kinda important so you wont be confused by the next episode so don't miss it

Anonymous

since you love tom hiddleston, for natmers, you should watch crimson peak!!!

So much Marvel... :/

Mike Api

Hah! I said the same thing when I saw Eugene Cordero pop up. I used to watch him perform weekly at UCB back in the day.

Edward Of DOOM

I watched Kevin Feige's interview when he said that Loki is dead and they aren't changing that. This just takes place before he dies. The good news is he also said there's a lot of Loki story they want to explore before retiring the character.

WalkingTaako

I'm pretty sure we just forgot how often we got "minor" illnesses before 2020, since most of us have gone a whole year or so since getting, like, a cold.

AnnaChicky

Since with this pace you'll be caught up in a few weeks, and you mentioned enjoying Tom Hiddleston narrating things, how about watching Assembled, the behind-the-scenes documentaries of the MCU shows? Tom narrates the one for Loki. If you enjoy watching behind-the-scenes videos at least.

Anonymous

Tom Hiddleston was pretty good in The Night Manager. It's fairly short, it could be a fun watch! :)

Kelvin

In terms of Natmares: Coherence (2013) In the Mouth of Madness Dog Soldiers

A Vicarious View

For Natmares: Since you already saw The Shining last year, you absolutely should see the sequel Doctor Sleep - Director's Cut. Emphasis on the Director's Cut! It's a whole half hour longer and So Worth It! Doctor Sleep is my favorite horror sequel/adaptation and one my Top 3 Favorite horror movies of all time.

Adrian Currier

My health has really been wonky the last 3 or 4 months, too. Headache, gut issues. It's not COVID-19, I've been getting tested for that. But it's been better the last 2 or 3 weeks :)

Ashley Faith

I love how country you sound when you say "Natmares" :'D
