Was really hoping for this one - It's gonna be a good night! <3

Randee Carreno

Happy Friday, Natalie! 😊 Downloading this right now so that I can watch it later tonight. Excited for this next installment in the "X-Men" series. Looking forward to watching this reaction this evening. Have a great day & weekend! 😊 Stay Golden! 💛

One of the better opening scenes in a movie. I remember being in the theater as a young lad thinking “holy shit did they film this in the White House” lololol

Anonymous

🙌🏼 one of my favorite X-Men movies!!

Jomero

Hooray! I feel this movie is probably the strongest of all the X-Men movies, followed closely by Days of Future Past. "It's interesting how some mutants look like humans...." Yep. You'll notice that the majority of mutants that follow Magneto are of the "...look like aliens" variety. The ones that can "pass" have/had it a lot easier, respectively. So it wasn't too hard a sell for the "aliens" ones to join Magneto and his plan for Homo-superior to be the dominant species.

Anakin Starkiller

This is my second favorite XMEN Days of Future Past is my favorite. The team gets tested pretty well in this. Humans still are very much afraid of the XMEN . The story is very good about Striker . I think this is alot of fans favorite.

Mike LL

You can tell Nat really wants to see Deadpool, She is going to power through these X-Men movies. And that is a good thing, I think.

Navjot Singh

Charles can't freeze time. He can control people's thoughts and that's how he tells them to stop moving. So while it looks like time has frozen, but in reality only the people are.

Ian

Happy Friday nat saving this for the weekend thankyou for all the great content this week have a fantastic weekend and until next week stay golden 💛

Stefan Johannsson

His hair looks like that because they're just being true to/paying respects to the comic books. That what he looked like with the hair and side chops. I kinda liked it. Also, Professor X didn't freeze time in the museum. He can control peoples minds and make them do what he wants. In this case, all the humans in the museum :)

Valar Dohaeris

It also justifies some extras stopping later... It stands to reason that it will take a while for Dr. X to stop everybody.

Anonymous

Re: Logan's smoking. I guess with a healing factor that makes you functionally immortal, there's no real reason not to indulge in every vice, other than personal preference.

Thomas Yanez

As an old school fan of the comics, it was amazing to see somebody who cared about what they were doing giving us a look at just how crazy effective Nightcrawler's powers could be. In the comics, the BAMFs never really conveyed his potential use of motion combined with the teleporting.

Danishprince

You should definitely watch Avatar the Last Airbender once you're done with Game of Thrones! It is one of the best shows ever created and I'm sure you would love it

Anonymous

Pls watch cobra kai🙏🙏

DarkJokester

I second that... Avatar :The Last Airbender is the best western animated series ever made... In my opinion anyway. I hope that Natalie gives it a thought or a look :D

DarkJokester

Been also waiting for this one to be posted cause we get more epic scenes with Magneto. Btw Magneto didn't open the door until he did something that pulled Charles out of using the machine. Also I love how you have an issue with how Jean died as well, cause til this day I have that same issue. She could have have done all that she did to save them while still being onboard the jet. Even though alot of people didn't like the third movie as a rewatch (inluding me).. I enjoyed myself watching it the first time and it has alot of epic moments which I can't wait to see you react to. ㋡

Anonymous

This is my favorite of the original trilogy. So happy to see this from you! Also yes, Avatar the Last Airbender would be a great series to get into! 🔥💧🪨💨

Dante

This movie is so good. It's tied with Days of Future Past for my favorites of the series.

Darryl Low

Nat, I did not expect your closing line to this movie to be " Come on bitch, where are you?" 😂 I love your reactions to movie series and to recurring characters. Always enjoyable to see you follow their journeys. Love John Ottman's score for this movie. He's also an editor, and he worked on this movie and a load of others as both composer and editor. Thanks for today's video Nat, and as always, thanks for all of your amazing work this week. Have a great weekend Nattie G 💛

Anonymous

Would totally be down for you doing ATLA as your next tv show after GOT!

Calo Grsf

Hi Nat! Thank you for this cosy reaction 😄! It was pretty funny with your famous comments that only you have the secret 😆 This one is my favourite X-Men film with Logan, I really can't wait for this one haha But you brightened my day when you mentioned "Avatar: The Last Airbender", I really hope you'll watch it, it's definitely worth it! 😁 I don't know if you are still in your trip, so I hope you are fine and having or have had a great time! Take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Valar Dohaeris

I remember when I watched this movie on cinemas. I did see it with a friend of mine that was a X-men comics fan. He was the one that explained to me the significance of the shadow in the water in the end. That day I learned two things: That knowledge of the mythos is at the same time good and bad. Good to understand things better, and bad to be able to enjoy without a preset mindset. That day I also learned about fan service...

Elvenwitch

If you were an X-Men comic fan when that last scene at the lake was shown, we lost our shit!

Brian Jones

I would argue that Logan is probably the strongest of all the films, but Xmen, X2, First Class, and Days of Future Past are all strong entries as well. Out of the Singer films, Days of Future Past is definitely the strongest of the bunch. All the rest, even Origins, have at least some highlights here and there, but they definitely fall flat by comparison.

MakaPeji

RIP to my girl Lady Deathstrike.

Jesse Rodriguez

Jesus… Ronnie 👏🏼 is 👏🏼 a 👏🏼 scared 👏🏼 KID!!

Anonymous

I'm one of those that voted for Deadpool movies straight away, but I'm changing my mind. For one I'm sad because it's gonna take longer to see her reaction to Deadpool. But on the other hand, she will get all the references to the actors, 4th wall breaks and such. And it will be much more rewarding :D I'm sure she's gonna be really confused with everything that happens in Origins, but it will be fun either way :D

Inverse Voltage

The reason the mutants are called X-men is because the gene that causes them to mutate is called the X Gene. Charles Xavier called his team the X-Men to basically say, "Yes, we are mutants, but we're still human, too.

Anonymous

The tranq darts aren't very effective on Logan because of his mutant healing ability. It's also why he can smoke so many cigars and not worry at all about emphysema and lung cancer. And cigars are definitely a Wolverine thing. He's constantly smoking them in the comics.

john collins

Couple things, first off you don't actually inhale cigar smoke (well maybe if your a mutant who can regenerate) it is too strong and would make you sick, instead you "puff" it into your mouth. Second it would be tough to remember but Dr. Striker is actually the same doctor that did experiments on Wanda and Pietro in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Anonymous

And then we were terribly disappointed about it in the next film.

KJ

Great reaction!. X2 is the best out of the originals. It's just a shame they botched the next movie so hard. Looking forward to Days of Future Past (Rogue Cut of course :D).

Thomas Yanez

William Stryker is not the same person as Baron Strucker from the MCU. The names are just similar. Weirdly, in the comics, neither of them was a scientist experimenting on mutants, but both are in the movies.

Anonymous

This is also my favourite X-Men movie. Nice movie reaction and commentary! Thanx Natalie!

Nicholas Hentges

Jean left the plane because there wasnt time to fix the jet before the water came. The engines were fine, it was the vertical thrusters that were the problem. She got out to lift the plane and hold the water. She probably could have stood on the plane and done that though. Great reaction though nat!

Anonymous

Ronnie's a hateful little shit who called the cops on his own brother and lied about being held against his will.

Michael Cruse

Another fun reaction, thanks :) This is one of my favorite of the X-Men movies. As always, thanks for sharing it. Couple of info tidbits: You picked up on a couple of mutants who are minor characters here, but pretty important in the comics, and they'll have bigger roles in some of the later movies (but with different actors). The girl who walks through walls is named Kitty "Shadowcat" Pryde, and the big metal dude is Piotr "Colossus" Rasputin. Kitty'll be played by Elliot Page, and Colossus mostly by CGI. Yes, Logan is efficient as stabbing folks. "He's the best there is at what he does, but what he does isn't very nice." The reason they don't go around pumping everyone up with adamantium bones and claws is that it is extremely toxic. Wolverine's healing factor is always having to work in the background to keep him alive. (Same goes for the cigar smoking.) Anyone without super healing would be killed. Just FYI, going forward the X-movies don't make a neat tidy story. They snake back and re-write history and make a jumbled mess of continuity. More like James Bond films than like the MCU. But you can just roll with it, and it'll all be okay.

Ilsuk Yang

So, the intro is actually very important to this movie. It's basically talking about people like Stryker and Magneto. Also, Professor X is not freezing time, but it's more like he's "freezing" minds at the beginning and end of the movie. Every time I watch this movie, I too feel so bad for Yuriko (also known as Lady Deathstrike, although they don't call her that in the movie) and Jason. At the end with Jean, I feel like part of the reason she decided to sacrifice herself was because she couldn't choose between Scott and Logan. Not sure if this is what the director (Bryan Singer) intended, but that's what it always seemed like to me. I know many people won't agree with my take, but it's just my opinion. Obviously, she also did for noble reasons and I always tear up when I watch that scene, but I always felt there was more to her decision. I would like to say more about the movie, but I don't want to spoil you for future movies. The only thing I'll say is that when you get to X-Men Days of Future Past, watch the longer version (also called the "Rogue Cut").

Ilsuk Yang

Yeah, I think part of the reason she made that decision is because she felt like she could concentrate on the task at hand if she was outside the plane where she couldn't see the others. If she was on the plane, she might not have been able to go through with it. At least, that's how I would think if I was her.

Endling_king

Professor X wasnt freezing time. just the people in the immediate area. which is a VERY important thing to remember about him that that is something he can do when watching the future x-men movies.

Thomas Yanez

How is that not 100% a massive spoiler for somebody (Nat) who has never seen the comics?

Inhuman Paradox

I think it's because Jean was starting to realize how dangerous she was, and she thought by sacrificing herself she could save the others from her own power. She was the one who broke the dam after all.

Ryan

Professor X is just beyond Powerful he can take away your free will, and not just your free will but everyone’s free will. He could kill us all, make us his slaves or force us all to believe as he does. It’s a power any villain would envy but thankfully Charles Xavier is one of good guys.

Connor Ellis

oof to calling Mystique and Nightcrawler (Kurt). Almost basically being racist against anyone that doesn't have "normal" appearances.

Baron

just started watching, wanted to say thank you for another great reaction I assume, and after listening to you talk about special effects during your intro I have a movie that you definitely need to watch, it is from 1985 called "The Young Sherlock Holmes" it was one of my all time favorite movies when I was a kid. It also has the very first completely CGI "character" which was created by John Lasseter, who would go on to be cheif creative officer at Pixar. It also has a lot more amazingly talented people who worked on it from being written by Chris Columbus, to Kathleen Kennedy and Steven Spielberg as executive producers. It would be fun to see what you think of this classic movie with the very first CGI ever, plus the story and acting is I.M.L.T.H.O amazing, I think it still holds up to this day.

Christopher Boscarino

AS much as I like the original trilogy, I honestly can't wait until she gets to days of future past. I think the relationship between Prof X And Erik is one of the most interesting parts of these films.

Fauxfox

I really hope you plan to watch Logan, the biggest upsides to watching all the movies is that Logan is such a great sendoff and a great movie. One of the best super hero films ever made.

Darren Penuliar

Petition for Nat to skip X-Men origins: wolverine and the last 2 x-men movies?

Danishprince

Petition to just let Nat watch things and form her own opinions instead of trying to affect what she thinks of a movie before having even watched it. People talked shit about SW Sequel trilogy and she never got around to watch it. People talked shit about Matrix sequels and she never got around to watch it. Just stop comments like this please.

Flashy Wolf

This was a pretty good rewatch, but just remember that when getting to X-Men: Days of Future Past, be sure to do the Rogue Cut. Also all movies from the 3rd movie will have one or two post credit scenes, which will be pretty important for the next movie, especially ones like The Last Stand & The Wolverine.

Anonymous

Just Remember this Nat. the director of the first two films, Bryan singer, who also directed Usual Suspects and Apt Pupil, was let go by Fox, over a disagreement on how X-men 3 would be written. Looking forward to hearing your review. Followed by Xmen Orgins Wolverine, The Wolverine, X-men First Class, X-men Days of Future Past, X-Men Apocalypse, Then Logan and X-men Dark Phoenix. Always enjoy your commentary

Ben Wheeler

If you're looking for another movie poll after all the XMen movies are out of the way, might I suggest a whodunit murder mystery theme? And Then There Were None (1945, based on an Agatha Christie novel) Murder On the Orient Express (1974 or 2017, also based on Agatha Christie) Clue (1985, based on the board game, stars Tim Curry and Christopher Lloyd) Knives Out (2019, Daniel Craig as a private detective w/ a ridiculous Southern accent)

Joseph Carriker

I got your first message. Apologies - I really thought that Nat had said she'd been told to skip X3.

Ben Violette

The X-men franchise is such a crazy mix of great and awful. Hugh Jackman really carries it. Looking forward to the reactions.

Erik Stevenson

Then New Mutants! would be terrible to get all the way through Dark Phoenix then leave off NM.

Christopher French

Wait hold on, you haven't seen Avatar: The Last Airbender?? Stop watching all other shows and watch it. NOW. It is one of the best shows ever made, in my opinion.

Anonymous

So glad we chose all of the movies, looks like nat is really enjoying them. there is a lot of heart in these films and its sad people just brush them off.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

I remember back in the day buying an older X-Men comic book simply because I saw Nightcrawler on the cover, intrigued, he looked so cool. And Logan's hairdo and preference for cigars and calling folks "bub" are all call backs to the comics. I'm sure it's been said but the only flaw in Hugh Jackman's casting as Wolverine is that he's like 6'3", and the comic version was a shorty, made him fun to imagine leaping and slashing in air, like a wild animal. Also, they alluded to it but barely, he has animal like senses of hearing and smell. Between flying, Collosus* like indestructibility, and regenerative ability as a base mutant ability, I think indestructibility would be my choice, with regeneration as a second. I'm curious what Nat would choose as a mutant power haha

Anonymous

Im loving these! just got done with this one, havent watched these in years!

Hannah Mather

I love this so much, and just the totally natural reaction without outside input is so great. Love seeing you put the pieces together across multiple movies. I almost wish you didnt have to read any comments about any movies until the full series is finished.

Anonymous

The name X-Men also comes from the name for the mutant gene, the X gene. X comes from math, in math X stands for an unknown variable and that’s basically what the X gene is, it’s an unknown variable that causes different things to happen to different people.

Kevin Bartelen

If you look carefully at that end scene looking at the water, you can see the yellow energy that had been surrounding Jean when she was holding back the water earlier. It's also in a particular shape relative to something from the comics but I won't say what because it's a bit of a spoiler for next movie.

Joe Blankenship

If I had Wolverine's healing factor, I probably wouldn't have given up smoking. His lungs heal just like the rest of him. And yet, drowning is one of his biggest threats. That adamuntium skeleton makes him heavy and he sinks.

Anonymous

Little Easter eggs when Mystique hacks the computer at the facility you’ll notice names of other marvel characters Remy LeBeau, The Maximoff twins among others.

Garrick Smalley

For some reason the only thing that bugs me about these movies is Logan's height. Wolverine is 5 feet 3 inch. A full head shorter than Cyclops. I can deal with every other change not that one. Oh well.

Lilla Kriger

The "Guy made of Steel" you'll see him again in a much bigger and better role 😁

Anonymous

This is a great Trilogy. Glad you're actually enjoying it. Also, If you haven't already watched Avatar: The Last Airbender yet then yes, you absolutely should. Even if not on Patreon. You'd probably really like it.

FatLittleButterfly

Avatar the Last airbender is a masterpiece

Steven Hok

I have a somewhat love/hate feeling for the x-men series because there's some great movies in it as well as some not so great lol but really enjoyed your reaction to this one! Also YES you should absolutely watch the Avatar: TLA series!

Obsolyeet

I always thought it was a shame Colossus wasn't given a major role in the trilogy right from the start. I think he easily garners enough fan favorite votes to make the cut. But especially here in X2 it wouldn't have worked given his talents. Once he starts using his power things like poisonous gas or drowning are no longer a threat to him since he isn't required to breath. It would have given the screenwriters too much of an easy out with the flooding of the spillway. And even lift that jet at the end of the movie possibly giving it enough of a launch to get going and making Jean's actions unnecessary.

Martin Firth

If the metal straw + glass combo could be avoided in the future that would be appreciated (i.e around 36:00). Great reaction!

Anonymous

As an almost life long fan of X-Men, originating in the comics, I have a really hard time with these movies and the animated series. (Nothing against anyone who does enjoy them, they just don't work for me, at all.) Watching your reactions to these, knowing you don't know much about any of these characters, helps me reinforce why I don't like these movies in and of themselves. As a fan, I knew Jean had to die in this story, but it always felt so forced and lame. Seeing your reaction to that whole sequence totally confirmed for me my issues with that moment. You've said you miss stuff because you're reacting, which frankly is the point of this. But between this one and the first, most of the things you seemed to not catch, had little to do with you reacting to things, and more to do with failures of the movies. That said, there are really enjoyable parts and acting in this whole franchise. Thanks for a solid reaction!

Anonymous

The fact they never really elaborate on his heightened senses, even though he clearly uses them, is one of my issues with this series. And I almost just typed out a spoiler. So I'll leave it at that.

Ortizmo2000

I'm really just waiting for you to get to "First Class" and "Days Of Future Past".......And Deadpool of course.

Jon Hoover

I've always been frustrated by people who dwell on this. Wolverine's real dimensions don't really exist in human form, so they got a really good actor who can get built and cut like he's inhuman. You've got to let it go and just enjoy the movie we have, and not dwell on the changes from the source material.

Jon Hoover

We all have to remember, the more obsuce the movie the less views she'll get. I'll be honest, I'm not going to watch a reaction to And Then There Were None, and most viewers aren't either. She can do some one offs every so often, but, for the sake of her channel, blockbuster movies are always going to be better.

Jon Hoover

Then all mutants would be X-Men. I'm not an expert on the comics, but I've always gone under the assumption that it's Charles Xavier's school and team so that's why it's the X-Men. It's definitely explained that way in First Class.

Leaf on the Wind

Heads up: In the third movie, there is an after credits scene that is important for you to see so you don't have questions later on while watching "Days of Future's Past."

sammi

If anyone needs help syncing the reaction to the movie on Disney+ or Amazon Prime you can try out this browser extension that I developed: https://www.casper.live/ You can pause and jump around in the reaction and everything is kept in sync. My recommended "offset" for this reaction is 271.3.

Kevin

Oh I can't wait for you to get to X-Men: First Class

Kevin

Also, they're all from earth, some of them just have mutations that also change their appearance while others don't. The X-Men reboot is much better at explaining stuff like this.

Kevin

Avatar the Last Airbender is a great animated series to watch! You will appreciate the story.

This_Jedi_crafts

Couldn't watch on Friday afternoon/ evening - but enjoyed your reaction tonight (Sat). Really love experiencing the movies through someone else's eyes! Brings it to life all over again. Thanks for another great reaction video. :D

Kevin

Jean is kinda like the Scarlet Witch of the X-Men, she is so powerful.

Nicholas Sulikowski

This may have already been answered by someone else, but regarding the name X-Men. It could have been named after Xavier. But my own thought was that it was a play on the term G men. Government agents. And this is not that. It's its own team doing it own thing, but they occasionally still try to be covert when possible. There's also the fact that the gene that gives mutants the potential to develop powers is called the X-gene, but that was probably invented well after the team name was thought up by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Regarding Xavier's powers, he can't freeze time, but his control over minds is strong enough to halt a whole load of people, physically and mentally. They just sort of pause all processes, allowing the mutants to move and even nudge the regular humans. IIRC the television was still working in that earlier scene when everyone was frozen.

Andrew T

Okay, so during the scene where Jean Grey suspends Nightcrawler, I immediately saw the cover art for a video game called "Control." If you google the game title, the images show a red-headed character extending her hand almost exactly like Jean Grey did in that scene. Anyone have any insight about whether there's any connection between the shot and the Control character? Note: this is my first time watching the X-Men movies, and I'm only familiar with the Control art because the game's been in my wishlist for a while now.

Barry

This is a quote from a Rolling Stones interview with Stan Lee: "He liked the idea, but I wanted to call the book The Mutants, and he said, nobody knows what a mutant is, you gotta come up with another name. So I figured, well, they’re men and women with extra powers, and their leader is Professor Xavier, why don’t I call them the X-Men? I brought that name to my publisher, he said, that’s great! And as I walked out of the office, I thought, ‘If nobody would know what a mutant is, how is anybody gonna know what an X-Men is?’ But I had my name, and I wasn’t gonna fight it. That was how it started." https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/stan-lee-dead-x-men-lost-interview-754889/

Kalle-Tapani Isomaa

When you eventually get to 2013 The Wolverine make sure to watch extended version. It is a lot better.

Valar Dohaeris

Anyone care to share the source of that affirmation? (Comic number?) Edit: from https://x-men.fandom.com/wiki/X-Men "The team's name is a reference to the "X factor", an unknown gene that causes mutant evolution. Co-creator Stan Lee recalled in his book Son of Origins of Marvel Comics that he devised the series' title after Marvel publisher Martin Goodman turned down the initial name which originally referred to "X-tra Powers", "The Mutants." In addition to this "official" explanation, the X-Men are widely regarded, within the Marvel Universe (as well as by the readers of the series), to have been named after Xavier himself. In Uncanny X-Men #309, Xavier claims that the name "X-Men" was never sought out to be a self-tribute. This lends credence to the statement Xavier made in Uncanny X-Men #1, in which Xavier stated he called the team X-Men "for ex-tra power!"" So it seems that there are some possible other sources for the name. Also from

My Toasty Toast

Would love to see you watch Avatar: The Last Airbender

Tranquil_Gnome

I'm not happy with the next X-movie but maybe you need to watch it to get the rest of the story.

Myles Away

Have not seen this in almost 15 years and was thinking it was actually pretty good for the era. Then that contrived ending with Jean happened. That was so poorly written. It felt so forced and the emotion fell flat. A portent of things to come...

Stefan Johannsson

When something makes no sense to Natalie, its not valid. Cause hollywood movies always need to make sense. Like Indiana J or James Bond. They all must suck cause they just don't make any sense. Think I'm a gluten for punishment on these watch alongs. LOL. Still enjoy them and still think ur cooler than a polarbears toenails. Just remember, movies don't have to super realistic or super logical to be enjoyable. That's why they're movies. Escape from reality. No need to question how realistic everything is. Still a big fan :)

Anonymous

Ive been looking for something like this. Came up with a few solutions of my own but Ill try your extension on my next watch.

Opti_Frog

It has to do with suspension of disbelief, and people have different tolerance level for it. For example, i can suspend my disbelief for most things that happen in parts 5, 6 and 7 of The Fast and the Furious franchise, but for almost nothing in part 9.

Jeff Clark

Yeeeeah...there were too many ways for her to save the day without having to sacrifice herself. They should have had Nightcrawler be unconscious for starters, absolutely no reason he couldn't just poof out and grab her once the jet was up...although I think they tried to insinuate Jean wanted to die, which didn't fit with the rest of the movie. Maybe if as she was losing control of her powers at the start it showed her hurting people more, a bystander dying or becoming seriously hurt because of her losing her control would make a decision to die at the end more understandable as she didn't want to hurt anyone anymore.

Logan Kerlee

Growing up, I really enjoyed the first more than the second. I still do, but I can value this movie quite a bit more than before. This movie's full of cheese, like the original. It skips character introductions because they were all made in the first film. I'm thankful that they didn't waste time going into who each character was throughout the beginning of the film. It's always a bother when that happens. Marvel knows that Marvel fans know who these characters are and that we don't need our hands held that much. ((though there were times in the first that were irritating with this, but that's just because I've always been a Marvel/comic fan)) All in all, good flick that doesn't waste 25 minutes reintroducing characters and their abilities. I'm glad that we got to watch this. :) There are other films that I'm looking forward to seeing! ((are we going to literally watch ALL of the Marvel movies in order? I'm so down if we are.))

warcrimes

God these early X-men movies are bad. They get better with First Class but X3 might be the worst and it's up next. ouch.

Cripkie

Sequels rarely live up to the original mate. They are usually parasitical directors that didn't have the chops for originality. Barring a few exceptions of course.

Richard Maurer

If you do watch a animated series you should watch the best animated series - Naruto and its continuation, Naruto Shippuden.

Jill Finlayson

Like many others, I also can't wait until you see First Class, my favorite one! Though yeah, you have to...get through the next one first. I've only seen it once so it'll be interesting to re-watch it with you at least! I can't wait :)

Point on the cigars, cause he has advance senses he uses cigars to dampen his smell so not taking everything in.

I hadn't even thought of that. Also... why not, when you know you can't get lung cancer from it? I can never decide if the effects of alcohol not lasting is a good thing for him or not... I guess it depends on whether he's in the mood to drown his sorrows and forget, or if he just wants to enjoy the fact that he can drink a ton of it without any worries, heh.

Troy B.

I'm surprised how many people think the first couple of X-Men movies were bad. I always thought the first two X-Men movies were some of the best superhero movies of their time (also the first two Raimi Spider-Man movies), especially alongside the likes of Fantastic Four, Green Lantern, Superman Returns, etc. As for the scene where the humans were tortured, I thought the same thing about plane crashes, car crashes, helicopters, buses, etc. That was way too long for collective humanity to be in pain like that. I think the only reason Professor Xavier's speech even worked on the President was because of how terrified he probably was of him, since he sorta had his own version of that Toy Story scene where all the toys come to life and tell Sid to "play nice."

Boticus

YESSSSSSS AN AVATAR SERIES IS A MUST!!!!!

Anonymous

I need the X3 watch along nowwwww lol (patiently waiting Natalie!)

VK

Avatar: The Last Airbender is definitely worth a watch along!!

Kelvin

I definitely enjoyed these X-films more than I expected. They're just such a change of pace from the current MCU product, despite being more uneven

Anonymous

Definitely make sure you don't watch Deadpool 2 until after Logan. I think watching the X-Men films in release order is probably the best option (there are a couple of confusingly bad ones in there, but it's a great series overall). Though, I would highly suggest just stopping the series at Logan (and then Deadpool 2). It is a perfect ending for nearly 20 years of films and is designed to be conclusive to it all. But they made 3 more after that, and they are unnecessary.

Hopefully she notices that D2 came out after Logan, since she's following the release order (so far at least) Just the D2 opening alone means she HAS to watch it last. Can't wait for her to get there, but so glad she's watching all of the X-Men films first.

So the whole thing of people/extras not “freezing” at the same time is on purpose. Charles is not freezing time. This was show casing that he’s able to connect to people’s minds and essentially taking them over against their own will and even block out the memory of being “frozen”. This same talent would be used at a much greater amplification with cerebro. So the people not “freezing” or stopping at the same time is showing that he

So the people not “freezing” or stopping at the same time is showing Charles linking to each mind at a fast rate but he can not reach all at the exact same moment.

Best scene: Colossus strutting into the room with his metal skin washing over him, bullets bouncing off, cut to shot of the wall, BOOOM!!! Two rag dolls fly through

Of course the thing with Wolverine is he regenerates, no problem smoking as cancer can't take a hold, likewise toxins etc. If I remember correctly he can't get drunk either, but he likes the taste.

You never (rarely) camouflage your face in one color, you need to break the shape. The brain looks for edges in recognition, the different colors makes that more difficult. Aface painted completely green is perceived as a green face shape. Introduce different colors and the shape is gone.

Introducing Nightcrawler as a villain was really an interesting decision. He is one of the most likable guys in the comics. I haven't seen this movie in years, so great to have reasons to rewatch. Professor X can freeze people by messing with their brains. He didn't freeze time itself, just put the people on pause. It's sort of weird, in the movies they just had the one thing, so, JUST the X-Men, but in the comics they were all merging from the start. The X-Men and Avengers knew each other, Magneto's kids, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were on the Avengers. Beast was too. Wolverine has been an Avenger for years. Cyclops in the movies is kind of presented as a dork, but, there are cool things about him. Mystique (The shape shifter) is actually Nightcrawler's mother. It was nice they got that little moment together. Lots of little cameos with the kids. The screaming gal was Siren, she's the daughter of Banshee, who was an early X-Men character, and was a teacher at the school. They both have sonic powers and can fly. Kitty Pryde. She just ran away. She can hide in walls, but she can't breathe while hiding in a wall, so... Kitty and Nightcrawler are really big fan favorites, or at least they were in the 80's. They were X-Men but left to join a team called Excalibur. There really are so many X-Books. There was X-Men, then they split that into Uncanny X-Men and X-Men, X-Force, X-Factor, Excalibur, New Mutants, Generation X, Wolverine, Deadpool, Cable.. there was a guy named X-Man for a while.

Ok so, redundant info, I'm always writing to the past. The gal Wolverine fought was Lady Deathstrike. She was a pretty active villain. Her story is that her father was the guy who invented the process of working with adamantium, but as is often the case, things went sour, revenge and hatred. With Jean. There was an event in X-Men where they were in outer space. And Jean died. Like, really died. Cyclops even remarried another redhead called Madeline Prior, who was a human, and was like a pilot in Alaska. One of the biggest X-Men stories, if not THE biggest one, is the Dark Phoenix saga. But first, you need the Phoenix... The Phoenix is like, a cosmic force, and can wipe out entire solar systems. This force attached itself to Jean, and then like, she died. It was a huge epic thing. But movies don't have that sort of time. So there were a lot of X-Men books. New characters, lots of stuff. Someone at Marvel had the idea to do a book with the original team. There were five original X-Men. Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Angel, and Beast. Jean Grey had a code name of Marvel Girl, but never really used it. Scott Summers was Cyclops, Bobby Drake is Iceman, Warren Worthington the Third was Angel, and Beast was Hank McCoy. Beast and Angel were off doing other things, but it wasn't too hard to get them back. Cyclops was always an X-Man, and the team leader, so he passed the torch to Storm, who lead the X-Men for a while. Beast was on the Avengers, and I guess Iceman was doing something. I don't remember. Jean was dead though, in order to do the original 5, they would have to bring her back to life, but first, they had to get rid of Cyclops wife... But yeah, when Jean Grey turned into the Phoenix, she did it by coming up out of the water. https://comicisland.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/0-675x1024.jpg So, they had to find a way for her to die underwater. They just basically wanted to have the cool moments from the comics without worrying about how to get there. Also, Jean dies, a lot. Like, that's sort of her thing. She's the phoenix, dying and coming back is sort of their thing. Here's a cool article about it. https://nerdist.com/article/x-men-jean-grey-deaths-resurrections-dark-phoenix/
