Just a random list of movies I'm curious about :)

I have seen Shawshank Redemption years ago, but truthfully don't remember most of it. I was like 15 when I saw it haha.

Which Planet of the Apes? It would be pretty cool to see you react to the new(-ish) trilogy with Andy Serkis!

nitind

Ah, but *which* Planet of the Apes? There are at least two films by that name.

Allan Rumberger

Planet of the Apes, the original with Charleton Heston. Even if the twist ending has been spoiled (everyone knows it, even if they don't know), it's great. Skip the rest, except the recent trilogy, which is exceptional.

Sour

Ahhhh fuck I instinctively picked shawshank bc it’s the best movie ever but I still really want to see Drive after the last poll. It’s such a good movie.

Reid Ellis

Ya, I am also confused by the version of "Planet of the Apes"

Randee Carreno

Happy Wednesday, Natalie! 😊 "Shawshank Redemption" got my vote on this poll. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Anonymous

You need to watch John wick!

Ashley Faith

I would love for ONE of the reactors I know to finally watch Parasite. One day...

Nick of Time

Shawshank or Drive. Just depends on if you’re in the mood for a prison drama or a neo-noir thriller. They’re both great.

Myles Away

You really should continue the Ryan Gosling train and watch Drive and The Nice Guys.

Anonymous

No GoT today? Did I miss something?

Anonymous

Planet of the Apes for me. The 1960s one with Charlton Heston. Great movie. When are you going to watch Predator Natalie? I saw it appear in a poll months ago (the poll that “Alien” won) but I haven’t seen it appear in a poll since then.

Anonymous

Is this the new Planet of the Apes series? Like Rise, Dawn, and War for Planet of the Apes? Because those movies are exceptional and would make a great series for your patreon!

Elisa H.

FYI Old planet of the apes and new planet of the apes trilogy are very different movies so which do you mean?

Kris Webb

Which Planet of the Apes? There's two.

K.N.

Parasite is amazing and I would love to see Natalie's reaction to it. First foreign language film to ever win Best Picture!

Brandon Ralphs

Noooooooooo you HAVE to do Parasite!

Anonymous

Voting for Charlton Heston or Andy Serkis.

Anonymous

Planet of the Apes, but only if you’re going to watch the original movie(s)

Ian

I like all four choices tbh but shawahank being my personal all time fav I had to pick that, it's just a movie everyone should see at some point just a beautiful movie but as I say all good choices as your polls often are so win win 💛

Darryl Low

I'm up for some monkey business, but if Shawshank wins I'm happy too. Not seen it, so will be excited to watch along with you Nat 💛

Anonymous

She said she was only posting 2 episodes a week for last week and this week in a GoT post last Monday.

Anonymous

"Shaw shank" and 1968 "Planet of the Apes" are great. If/when you are in the mood for a sci-fi adventure thriller, I recommend the 1989 movie "The Abyss".

Gary Poussard

Planet Of The Apes (1968)

My Toasty Toast

I love Parasite! It doesn’t look favorable in the polls but still hoping it wins as I remember the Shawshank redemption well and Natalie said she already saw it

Connor Alexander

Shawshank is great, but please do get around to Parasite at some point!

John Smith

Whens the next episode of GOT?

Anonymous

all good/great movies. can't really go wrong. Buuuut I would say Parasite or Drive, both a bit different and modern. The rest are classics

Jai Nelson

Grrrr. No Thrones? I had my dvd cued up and everything. I know you’re only doing two this week, but when you did that previously it was tues. and wed. Ah, fooey.

RebRox65

Are we talking original Planet of the Apes 🦍 or just the remakes or all of the franchise (and if we’re talking all of the movies, you’ll have respect from me) because that would be totally different from any other reactors and I like the idea of our golden team being pioneers.

Anonymous

I voted for Shawshank, but would love to see you do Green Mile as well

Anonymous

Shawshank Redemption is one of the greatest movies ever made.

Anonymous

Tough vote! Drive is such a must watch (as well as The Nice Guys!)... but Parasite won ALL the Oscars, and rightly so, and would be a refreshing change of content for you Natalie. In fact, every one of this particular director's films are worth a watch if you're open to more foreign language films. :)

Anonymous

Also, the new trilogy of Planet of the Apes films are stunning.

Anonymous

First Man with Ryan Gosling one day, please

PaulChristopher

I hope The Godfather goes back on the poll.

Gavin Kinsey

I voted for that one hoping it's the original, but the 2011 version would also be acceptable. Just not the 2001 version, that was awful.

Anonymous

All great movies. I hope you’ll do Drive at some point

Anonymous

Jaws would be a good one to do one day

Anonymous

Shawshank is one of the greatest films ever made

Ron

Planet of the Apes: 1968, 2001, or 2011 (Rise of the PotA)?

Jordan Love

I vote Planet of the Apes as long as it's the original, but i think you should consider watching Alien Resurrection at some point. I know 3 has some issues and you're not a fan of the genre, but Resurrection is a lot more action than horror and as an early Joss Whedon script it's a lot like watching the prototype for Firefly.

Anonymous

hopefully the newer movies (trilogy), concerning planet of the apes

Charles Davies

Parasite is one of those films that the less you know going in the better. As long as you dont mind subtitles its a MUST see

Obsolyeet

Which Planet of the Apes is on the poll? Original? Remakes? I love Shawshank but honestly it's on tv about every 72 hours somewhere. I vote for Drive because I've never seen it and the ones who have seem hyped about it.

Troy B.

Shawshank Redemption is the best movie of this group, but I'm voting for Planet of the Apes as I think it would make for a better reaction video. (Also, and I mean no offense, but Shawshank is one of the few movies I'd rather not hear people talking over.)

DarkJokester

Shawshank Redeption is the highest rated movie of all time, which makes it the greatest movie ever made. Also hope that you react to Green Mile one day :D

Ken

There are a shit-ton of movies with "...of the Planet of the Apes" and "...for the Planet of the Apes" in the title, but there are only two movies in the whole wide world called simply Planet of the Apes - the classic from 1968, and the one from 2001, that was liked by few and is remembered by almost no one. It is a very, very safe bet she's talking about the 1968 movie here

Jenny Tolls

These selections are so random lol

Eric Janssen

So, 10's-kids saying "You should watch the entire TRILOGY [sic]"...no, it's not those either.

Eric Janssen

Why? Even when it came out, it was billed as "It LOOKS like Shawshank, and it was the SAME GUY!", and was even groomed for Oscars before it was released based solely on that. And then, when it opened....well, just say you'll hear Oscar pundits talk about "a Green Mile nominee" every year.

Niknok Seyer

Parasite and Shawshank.

Anonymous

There’s something I love about Alien 3’s set design though. Not a perfect film but I like that it feels very distinct from the other ones.

Kevin Mowery

If it's Planet of the Apes, I'd say either the original with Charlton Heston, or the recent Rise of the Planet of the Apes with James Franco. The Tim Burton one is visually striking but a mess. I grew up with the originals, but I'd probably recommend the new trilogy, because they are a trilogy and maintain a pretty good level of quality throughout. By the end of the original movies they were making the films so quickly and on such a low budget that they were filming in a park.

Robert Reichle

If it was the original planet of the Apes, I'm all over it. Newer ones, I'd skim past the notification like a daily ad being spammed in my inbox. They don't exist in my world.

chicks dig me

95% of Shawshank is made up BS. I don't care but too many people believe it is a true story.

Anonymous

Go for original planet of the apes great movie

Michael Riley

Rise of the Planet of the Apes? Then yes

Anonymous

Voted for Shawshank, but BTH after seeing your reaction vids on HTTYD trilogy, I would love to see you react to more animal-type movies, animated or otherwise. Preferably ones you have not seen yet :)

Ken

It's 100% made up. It's based on a Stephen King story.

Andrew Clifton

Shawshank and POTA are both amazing. Drive was pretty good too. I honestly wasn't a fan of parasite.

Rime Pendragon

Parasite is the best movie in this poll. But it's non-English so it probably won't win :-(

Lemuel Daher

Rise of the planet of the apes!

Eric Janssen

Why not watch the ORIGINAL Conquest and Battle, instead of the corny remakes?

Anonymous

Shawshank Redemption is on of those dramas with great casting, great writing and leaves you thinking about morality.

Kevin Bartelen

Are we talking original Planet Of The Apes (and possibly series), or the remake, or the other remake that got sequels?

Anonymous

I am of the opinion that everything Stephen King has written is overrated including Shawshank. It's a prison Movie that is not even in my top 5 prison Movies. 1. Escape from Alcatraz, 2. The Great Escape, 3. The Longest Yard (Burt Reynolds), 4. Papillion (Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman), and 5. Cool Hand Luke. Planet of the Apes the Charlton Heston version gets my vote.

Eric Janssen

Do we honestly have fans that think "Stephen King was the author of Shawshank"? Thank goodness at least one reactor did "Christine" and "The Dead Zone".

JarHead0351

so all The Planet of the Ape and which ones, New or Old? I would like her to watch Almost Famous 0r Dogma or A Knight's Tale or 13 Hours or even This Is The End

Anonymous

Sad that Drive isn’t going to win 😥

navghtivs

I suppose you mean the 1968 Planet of the Apes, a true classic, not the 2001 mediocre remake? Anyhow, it'd be good to watch more movies that are older than you.

Myles Away

That is what I voted for but it is likely never to win. That movie is pretty underground in comparison to all the other films Natalie typically watches. So I imagine most of her audience hasn't seen it. I'd love to see her react to pretty much any Nicolas Winding Refn film. They're all brilliant.

Anonymous

I would vote Planet of the Apes if it's Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Dawn and War are outstanding too.

Mike LL

Yes I would think that the only Planet of the Apes movie worth watching would be the 1968 classic starring Charlton Heston. If you are thinking of any remakes, don't waste your time.

WackySwacky

Original Planet of the Apes please. Such a classic. Shawshank is just depressing.

Christopher French

Shawshank is required viewing. One of the best movies ever made.

Nick of Time

Just watched a react to Shawshank, but I'm ready for another one.

entendencia

Expecting GOT today, that's ok, you should post a schedule so people like me who get their recorder ready to record cause it's posted at 6am my time. Luv you anyway

Anonymous

If/when you dive into Apes watch the original 1968 film, and then the modern trilogy. Don't bother with the original sequels (the 2nd one is ok) or the Tim Burton remake.

Kelvin

Rolling the dice for parasite

R.BGames37

There were only 2 G.o.T uploads this week.. so i think 5x10 comes tomorrow

Anonymous

I think the original Planner of the Apes will make the best content for you, especially if you don't know much about it. Lots of plot and design elements for you to comment on. I can't guarantee you'll like it, but I think a good video will come out of it. It's the most iconic and influential movie on this list.

R.BGames37

For in a new poll.. "The Green Mile" and "Liar Liar"

Anonymous

Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy plz🙌🏿🙌🏿

Anonymous

Shawshank is a dud

Anonymous

Which Planet of the Apes? I would watch the original one before watching the modern ones so you get some context.

tom

Shawshank is #1 on IMDB for good reason

Anonymous

For Korean dramas, I think you should seriously consider "The Handmaiden" as well as "Parasite". It's an extremely well-directed film with a LOT of twists and turns and intense moments! (However there are some sex scenes that will need significant blurring, but we're already used to that with GoT haha)

Anonymous

I voted Planet of the Apes, but which one is it? The OG or the newer ones? You should do all of them btw!

Tiger Chu

Should of had The Nice Guys on the list. Nobody does that movie

chicks dig me

CHarlton Heston please

Nick of Time

No one does that movie because it’s not very good or even funny. 😕

It Hurt A Lot

Shawshank isn't the best movie ever imo but I don't know anyone with credibility who would say it's not good. Some people just like being contrarian I guess. Btw I saw Tomorrow War the other day and I think it would make for a killer reaction down the road

Nick of Time

Natalie, don’t watch The Green Mile without watching The Shawshank Redemption first.

Joe Blankenship

I wonder if younger people were put off on Shawshank by having it overhyped at them by older folks. Just because a movie does deserve hype, doesn't mean it can't get overhyped. I think that happens with The Godfather as well.

JayF

Shawshank is one of my two favorite movies (the other being Princess Bride) so it gets the nod. I'm curious about which Planet of the Apes you are referring to. If it's the 1968 version then it's worth your time. If it's the horrible remake from 2001 then just don't. Also the trilogy that came along in 2011, 2014, and 2017 (Rise, Dawn, and War of the Planet of the Apes) was surprisingly good. That would be a good trilogy for you to react to.

Wally Hartshorn

I was just thinking the other day that it was surprising people haven’t done reactions to the original Planet of the Apes. Shawshank is going to win this poll, but I hope you also do Planet of the Apes.

hockeywitch

I'd like to see you react to Parasite. I think it'd be a nice change to react to a Korean movie since they're becoming so popular. I'd like to see you react to the Korean hit, Train to Busan actually. It's been voted the best zombie movie ever by some hardcore zombie enthusiasts. I loved it and I don't particularly care for zombie movies.

Jordan Love

Shawshank is a great movie, I just don't think it's a great movie for reaction videos. I'd like to propose, for a future poll, a bowling double feature, Kingpin and The Big Lebowski. Who's with me?

Anonymous

Completely agreed, The Handmaiden was an absolutely wonderful film that is in my top 10 favorite movies.

Ortizmo2000

I don't agree with you about Shawshank, but I'm totally down with your bowling double feature!

Ortizmo2000

Dude if you are still depressed by the end, you need to get laid x10.

Brian Jones

This is kind of a no brainer.... Everything on the list is special for it's own reasons and whatnot, and they are all very good films, but Shawshank is a masterpiece in film making. From the writing, to the cinematography, to the acting, to the score, it's hands down one of the best films ever made. There's no question what should win this poll, and there's a reason why this film makes the top 5, if not the number one spot on most critic and viewer lists. It's simply one of the best films ever made. And no, that's not hype.

Anonymous

The original Planet of the Apes were nice and quaint for their time, but the new trilogy with Andy Serkis is fantastic. I think you would really love that series. The Shawshank Redemption is a timeless classic and probably one of the few movies one can rewatch over and over and still enjoy.

Thomas Williamson

You MUST do a reaction to the very first Planet of the Apes with Charlton Heston. It is a literal classic.

Cripkie

Shawshank definitely but drive is a good pick too. Gosling is great at that silent, almost autistic character. IS almost autistic a thing, I guess Aspergers? idk.

Anonymous

Voted. Please watch Gattaca and Constantine :)

Brandon Zepf

depends on which planet of the apes - loved the newer ones, older one are ok. heard a lot of good stuff about shawshank but have never seen it so I wouldn't mind that either.

Andrew Clifton

Yea I grew up on the original but imo the new trilogy was much better. The one with Marky Mark was okay but the old ones besides the original were pretty bad lol. Rise, Dawn then war for the planet of the apes is the order I would go in then watch the original so their in chronological order.

Benji James

Nuuuuuuuu! Shawshank is leading. Dang. Both Drive and Parasite would be fantastic films to react to.

David Holmes

As Shawshank is in my top ten, it got my vote. But being raised in the 70’s, I’d love to see a reaction to the older POTA films.

Hairy Potter

Waiting for Gran Torino or Million Dollar Baby :)

Anonymous

You know if we watch Million Dollar Baby she's not going to be okay.

Anonymous

Both movies are great suggestions, but would favour Gran Torino or "The Mule"

Anonymous

Gran Torino! :-)

Anonymous

I highly recommend Interstellar by Christopher Nolan, it's such a great movie to watch and to react to.

Dave A

I'm still hoping Tombstone makes it on one of these lists!

Jomero

Shawshank had the unfortunate luck of coming out the same time as Forrest Gump. Gump overshadowed everything in its path. TSR would have likely won Best Picture in any other year. I am glad people (including myself) discovered it through rentals and aired-for-tv movies. While I enjoyed Forrest Gump a lot I (and I would bet most people) have re-watched Shawshank far more than it.

Anonymous

It still should have won that year. This wasn’t as egregious as some other best picture wins, but it’s up there.

tezster

Shawshank and Parasite please.

Anonymous

Should be Drive, if for no other reason than to see the movie someone tried to sue the movie studio because it wasn't the Fast and the Furious.

Paul Gibbons

And the person responsible for those thumbnails really needs death by Dragonfire.

Myles Away

Ha yeah, such a funny situation. It is interesting how often trailer houses will edit a film to look nothing like the actual film hoping that will make people come see it. Nicolas Winding Refn films will likely never be big money makers but damn are they good.

Anonymous

If you ever go on to watch Planet of the Apes, I wholeheartedly suggest to also watch the new trilogy (Rise of the Planet of the Apes etc.) - they are somewhat independent of the old movies, but really, really great. And they touch on some themes you have proven to love.

WackySwacky

I don't normally play the recorder when watching one of Nat's reactions, but you do you man.

MertzRocks

IDK Parasite or Drive... The original Planet of the Apes was totally epic for its time and still stands up, imo. You've seen Shawshank so things will come back to you quickly, I'm sure. It's leading the poll as I write so I voted for Apes. You should do both. The other two, like I said, idk...

Justin S.

Shawshank Redemption is one those films that is pretty much flawless and definitely needs to be seen if you don't remember well. The Green Mile is another great film that is by the same director and also based on a Stephen King story.

Colton Scott

I voted for Shawshank, but I'm definitely hoping for Parasite in the future.

Anonymous

Which Planet of the Apes?

Ellis Hugh

Shawshank is clearly the best film on this list but I'd always defer to something not seen. Which Planet of the Apes is an important question, but it's getting my vote so long as it's not the Markie Mark one.

Anonymous

I like the two leads of Drive quite a bit but personally thought it was a pretty bleh, mostly dull film.

juan calderon

stop putting drive against these mainstream films its not gonna win! its the 2nd best movie on this list, Shawshank is a masterpiece of story telling and film. Parasite is overrated its really good and has great commentary on society but its overrated. There were a handful of movies that should've won over it but at least it was a legit contender unlike crash. Please tell me youre talking about mark Wahlberg planet of the apes cause that would be hilarious. andy serkis was amazing but the man,, the myth, the legend Heston has the best version. Please watch drive eventually its not gonna win the polls but should.

Muhammad

There is a Planet of the Apes film series cult following, smaller—but as similarly as dedicated as the Star Wars or Marvel following. The movies are numerous, thought provoking and sometimes a bit cheesy. But there are 5 originals, 1 Wahlberg version, and 3 magnificent modern ones as well. The great thing is, there’s so much to react to in these films: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls063908764/

Anonymous

I'd like to see you do Drive some day! It is so good! Another one you should add to the list is Heat - a crime drama with Robert de Niro and Al Pacino. De Niro is a bank robber and Pacino the cop after him, but they both share more in common than they'd like to admit. It's not a typical action heist and stars a great ensemble cast. The look and feel of Heat even served as an influence for Christopher Nolan on The Dark Knight. You should watch it if you haven't already!

Anonymous

Planet of the Apes only if just the original 1 (or 5). Shawshank otherwise.

Skizane

The Russo Brothers reportedly also used the heist gunfight scene in Heat as the standard for how they wanted the action in the Winter Soldier to look and feel.

Anonymous

Please add Smokin' Aces (2006) to your list if you havent seen it! Great movie with an all star cast!
