Calo Grsf

It's San Pellegrino, an Italian company drink, they're really good

Jedi training AND Dragon training going on in GOT now. All roads lead to the Nattie G Channel 😊 That shot of Drogon appearing out of the darkness was so cool. Thanks for a great video today Nat 💛

Can't help but agree with Hizdar on this one when he said that Dany should have just executed the traitor in the great pyramid and been done with it. Instead she had to prove her little point and do it in public. And there's just something so much worse about being hissed at instead of being booed. 😆

Woo, got to watch on the first day. xD That's rare for me. :P I enjoyed the episode and am looking forward to more. :)

As easy as it is to minimize her actions from our armchairs, the challenge of these choices were laid out clearly for contemplation. The "point" isn't that the she made a "wrong" choice, it's that all choices carried destructive implications in this society with a new (and foreign) government. The man that was executed was her advisor, so she felt she would not -could not- favor his fate. I'm sure it's not such a strange idea to any of us if we suggest that 'the people don't always make the best choices'... Something that I'm sure any of us can easily apply to the politics of our homelands, right? We all have peers that we feel make terrible choices or have terrible beliefs/views - But in this story, the precedent for denying a trial while trying to establish new laws is effectively as dangerous going forward as the precedent for *having a trial* in the first place, when the society has been historically oriented for violence loooong before she established leadership. As her society called for mercy, what is that mercy motivated by? Is it merely because he was a former slave? Because he was not only a former slave, but a 'rags to riches' character they looked up for ascending to her circle of power? Would the former slaves have asked for mercy if the man "on trial" (irony intended) were a former Master? Or were they calling for mercy because they had all truly and honestly cogitated on the implications for and against the sentence, given his crime and treason? When all choices lead to potential mistrust and lawlessness, the path forward (and thus, the path of wisdom) is not as clear as some audience members may declare it to be. Let us remind ourselves that Danaerys is actively, and fundamentally trying to *force* change to their entire culture - hell, that implication alone has historically divided fans about Danaerys as a person, a character, and the events leading up to and through her rise. Any of us can imagine the challenges associated with that concept, even if we argue for or against their society being "better" if their culture was changed. After all, we need only look as far as our own histories. This has been a theme the entire time, and will continue to be a theme for basically all of the people we care about in this series. There is a reason why they refer to it as "the hero's journey" - the path of virtue is *always* more difficult than the path of villainy, and it always requires our heroes to have more difficult choices to make in order to achieve the virtuous end. Even good deeds carry with them unseen negatives in a chaotic world. The implications and morals of what is good now versus what is good in a future one may not be a part of is *always* an aspect of rule and leadership. You can observe the implications of this notion in your own politics, wherever you live.

i know the situation is pretty bad in castle black Nat but it isn't quite "we only have 2 shapes of tokens" bad just yet!

Anonymous

I don't know how it would be possible, but Nat do your best not to look at the thumbnails before the episode they are notoriously spoilery. Can't believe they still haven't updated them ugh.

Rune

Hehe I know. sometimes Nat gets stuck on the strangest details. :)

Aaron

No, Jon wasn't in the running the whole time. They just carved some extra tokens. It's wood, not that hard. On a related note: Does anyone else look at Ser Alliser with his curly hair, big forehead, and unyielding hatred for a protagonist named John and see Dr. Cox from Scrubs? LOL

Paul Gibbons

The joy of DVD's is no thumbnails cause i imagine season 8 ones would be really spoilery.

BNJ

“The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword. If you would take a man's life, you owe it to him to look into his eyes and hear his final words. And if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the man does not deserve to die.”

My_Cousin_Mose

It's not sexist to call Cersei the "queen mother", that is literally her title.

TimTakDoh

Yes, but the intent behind his words was obvious(you're just the queen mother, not someone I respect)

Cripkie

Cersei Lannister reminds me of my mother. Incredibly maternal but very cold. She really could only love animals. All she felt for other people was paranoia or disgust. Borderline personality was the label the doctors diagnosed.

Ellis Hugh

"Do you know this wretched girl, Lyana Mormont? The Lady of Bear Island, and a child of ten... I asked her to commit her house to my cause and this is her response." **Bear Island knows no king but the King in the North, who's name is Stark.** Always remember when you first heard Lyana Mormont's name.

Nettles

At the 20 minute mark when Bronn is talking to his betrothed, he is basically insinuated that he will kill the sister so they can inherit her family's castle and lands 🤣🤣

Nettles

I love Sam's speech soooo much!!

Nettles

I love how Daenerys walks in a circle around the table and listens to everyone's council. Everyone at the table is equal and free to speak their minds. We haven't seen this with any other ruler. I love her, and her ruling style.

Thoko

I think King's Landing has a better ruling style. King Robert (and even the kings after him) did not attend the council, but everyone at the table was free to speak their minds. The main difference is that in King's Landing, those people were given actual roles where they could get things done independently. On the other hand, Daenerys has control over every detail.

Guns

second time we have seen that executing allies that killed the king's/queen's prisoner backfiring. the other being robert stark killing the head of house that killed the lanister boys

Linus Marjeta

Was it that hard to grasp that they had more tokens at disposal? Hahah
