Getting this episode downloaded to watch tonight. 😊 So far, this is a really good and interesting first season. Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Andrew Dickinson

Not watching these because tbh not enough time and don't have access to the episodes for a watch along but will be popping into see,.shall we say, important milestones..

love getting to do this watch through with you as a new viewer, its fun seeing things from a different perspective

Darryl Low

Nat, I think you and Cersei Lannister have got off on the wrong foot! 😀 I love how you always sympathize with the guy who is volunteered to do the fighting for the higher power. They should do their own dirty work. Thanks for another great week of Thrones reactions Nat 💛

Thomas Yanez

Man, the speed you are pumping these out is amazing. Please, don't burn yourself out on it. There is a lot of show to watch. Of course, I'm saying that and I've hardcore binged the entire series multiple times. It just sucks you in.

Ian

Nat is enjoying tyrion a lot as we all do he's so funny 😀 anyways on with watching 💛

Calo Grsf

A cool reaction haha, I like how you tried to anticipate things haha Fun fact about the scene with the heart: the heart is actually the same as the little gummy bears but with disgusting ingredients and Emilia Clarke was not aware of it, which added realism to the scene haha Stay Golden and be safe!

Christopher French

It's not too hard to edit the full episode. The real challenge will be squeezing them into a couple of YouTube videos

Sean

Viserys is going to... stay golden. *cue music*

Ian

Fantastic reaction as always! Nat really does snap on to things super fast, it's great to see 💛 thankyou Nat for another wonderful week of GOT you truly are golden

Luis Torrefranca

Tywin's the father of Tyrion, Cercei, and Jamie.

This show ends in the worst way possible. Sucks the first few seasons were as good as they were. Last 2 seasons literally feel like terrible fan fiction

Luis Torrefranca

A shield can give protection, but also obscures vision and adds weight. If you can move your feet below you well enough, the opponent's shield is your shield as well.

Powering through the series is great, I get to re-watch with you and I don't ever have to wait long! BTW I also have Steelseries headphones, they are great, no?

Bronn (the guy that fought on behalf of Tyrion) is a great fighter as it is, and you'll see more of his skill later on. However, he doesn't just rely on on his swordsmanship. He uses enemy's weaknesses to his advantage. He didn't use a heavy armor or shield as they reduce agility and cause fatigue, and you could see that as the fight progressed, the knight of the Vale was getting tired and sloppy. That made him much easier to defeat.

Kevin Mowery

One the showrunners ran out of books, turns out they really didn't understand the characters at all.

Kevin Mowery

Now that you've met Bronn, Tyrion's new friend, played by Jerome Flynn, look up the video "Up On The Roof" by Robson and Jerome.

Shadowcat

To add on to what Luis said, it's a very quick moment and you must have missed it, but Bronn, the guy who fought for Tyrion, was offered a shield before the fight started, and he turned it down. Some fighters prefer not to be weighed down like that. A lot of times, if they're not using a shield, they'll add a second blade in the off hand, either a short sword or a knife, but every fighter has their preference. As far as Lysa saying he doesn't fight with honor, I think she was talking about the way Bronn didn't stand still and just go toe-to-toe with her knight. Bronn moved all over the room, grabbed an onlooker and shoved him at Ser Egen, and kicked over a candelabra. Good tactics, but not "knightly."

Great reaction as always. But I have to say you need to pay more attention. Tony Stark might have the same last name as Ned, but Starks are not quipping as him all the time :) Almost everything they say (and everyone else too of course) is important as this is an information heavy show. They literally said the name Tywin Lannister several times before you asked which person he is. Tywin is the head of the house Lannister (father to Tyrion, Jamie and Cercei). Also they offered Bronn a shield too, but he refused to take it as it is not coherent with his fighting style. Anyway thank you for your reaction and I am looking forward to another episode.

WackySwacky

To be fair, most shows aren't this smart and attention demanding. The average Joe watching is used to basic shows that you can turn your brain off for, but with Game of Thrones it is based off of books that have lore 20 miles deep, most of which goes over people's head on their first time watching.

It's funny with the reactions I don't realize how some of the scenes can come off unclear. He didn't *CLEARLY* cheat, so him dodging and moving can seem like it's perfectly fine. Still love the "He did" line though.

Anonymous

It's kinda hinted at with Syrio Forel's hacking and slashing comment. I think it was a comment that A. Bronn won and B. He didn't just use force on force.

Alan Kobb

Bronn wears a leather vest and doesn't want a shield. The late Ser Vardis wore full plate armor and a big heavy shield. Bronn is light on his feet. He's fought knights before. He kept Vardis running after him and swinging his big sword swings until he could barely stay on his feet under the weight of all that armor. You're right, the fight was terribly unfair. Vardis was doomed from the start. You remember how Ned said that knights strut around? They think they're better than a guy in leather. They may have more training at fighting like a knight, but fighting to win.

Joe Blankenship

Yes. This episode has such a badass and brutal ending. And we’re relieved her shitty brother is out of the way. Ahh, I can’t wait for you to see how the season ends.

Thomas Yanez

The tree you mentioned from the credits... you have already seen it. Some old families like the Starks that still worship The Old Gods have little sanctuaries called Godswoods where they have one of those "heart" trees with a face carved in it. There is lore associated with them that you will be exposed to eventually. You saw the tree up close in a scene in the first (I think) episode where Ned was sitting in a pretty little glade next to a pretty little pond when Cat came out to tell him about the death of Jon Aryn. There was a white tree right behind him. If you look closely, you can see the face carved into the tree's trunk.

Thomas Yanez

You seem to be missing a key point about Sansa. She doesn't want a bad boy. She wants to be QUEEN. She has been raised her whole life with fantasies about marrying into royalty and has a picture perfect image of how wonderful it will be. She wants THAT and refuses to believe anything contrary to that fantasy. She is spoiled and naive, completely unprepared for the realities of life in the royal court. Sansa is actually much more of a sympathetic character in the TV show than in the books, at least through the first couple (all I read.) Vapid and deliberately obtuse in the pursuit of her dream.

Loving these reactions and how they're giving me an excuse to go back through the show. On the topic of Robert as king, the books make it a a little clearer why exactly he's not good at it but its a bit harder to show visually. The problem with Robert's style of ruling is that he's a war time king; he has a big personality, he's a man of action, and he was able to rally enough people together to overthrow the Mad King. By the time we see Robert though is as a war time king during an extended peace. I think the show said it's been 17 years. The skills he used to WIN the throne aren't needed when he's ON the throne and so he spends his time partying instead of working on the (boring) actual parts of ruling. It's like if the high school quarterback took over the school and became the Principal and then had to deal with the paperwork.

WackySwacky

Well, it was both. She wanted her prince charming AND she wanted to be queen. She wants it so much she acts like a complete moron for a long time. Her and her mother are some of the dumbest characters in the series.

Jayson Phillips

Also the Wild woman that attacked Bran? Another Harry Potter Alumni and also from The Mandalorian

Another good reaction! Three episodes a week is not enough!!! Bahaha, but actually I enjoy the variety so keep it up :) Looking forward to next week!

That "Woo hoo!" at the end was brilliant! I'm avoiding spoilers, I swear by the Old Gods and the New!! This episode is so full of information and great dialog, so it's a favorite. You asked about the tree in the Winterfell grove. They're not really discussed much in the TV series, but much in the books as background. The tree is a weirwood tree. It is sacred to the northerners. Many of these trees have faces carved into them and legend says that the ancients could see what was happening anywhere that a weirwood tree was by meditating next to a tree. You've heard references to "The Old Gods and the New". The Old Gods are the Gods of the original people who lived in Westeros over 10,000 years ago. The original people in Westeros were the so-called Children of the Forest. When the first men reached Westeros, there was war between them and the Children, but eventually peace and they took on the religion. This religion is similar to the druid nature religions that the early Scottish settlers believed. Later on the Andels came over from Essos across the narrow sea, carrying with them the religion of the Seven (The New Gods). They conquered most of the South of Westeros and worrying about the legend, destroyed most of the Wierwoods in their lands, but did not conquer the north. The Religion of the Seven looks more like a Catholic religion, but with seven aspects of God instead of a trinity. Today the old Gods are observed in most of the North and the New Gods are observed in most parts of the South. One aside, since Knighthood is linked to the New Gods, most Northerners, even experienced military men like Ned are not Knights, but some, like Jorah Mormont have been Knighted by a Southerner. Why did King Robert marry Cersei? Politics. He had just won the war and was now the King. He probably would not have won without the last-minute help of Catelyn's father Tywin Lannister. As King he was expected to produce an heir, and Tywin was arguably the most powerful lord in the Seven Kingdoms. Cersei wanted to marry a King, of course, but she also wanted to marry the young, brave, handsome Robert Baratheon in his prime. Lord Arryn felt that it was the best option available. King Robert and Cersei both had good intentions at the start, but he could not get Lyanna Stark out of his head, so the marriage was doomed. The TV show does a bad job of showing the distances. In the time of the show, a small group, traveling by horse, could go maybe 50 miles a day with good weather and plenty of food and other supplies. An army on foot, only 10 miles a day. King's Landing is over 1600 miles from Winterfell, and the Wall is over 600 miles from Winterfell. Catelyn's journey to King's Landing would have taken her about a month, and another month for the return if she hadn't diverted to the Eyrie. This puts into perspectie Bran's complaints about his mother being gone. It had been months. Catelyn's syster, Lady Lysa was Lord Jon Arryn's wife. Until the start of episode 1, she had lived for years in King's Landing with her husband and son. If you recall from earlier, she had sent a letter by rider to Winterfell telling the Starks that the Lannisters had poisoned Lord Arryn. It was this letter that convinced Ned that he needed to become the Hand in order to protect his friend, the King. She had married Lord Arryn during Robert's Rebellion 17 years earlier. They needed the support of Lord Tully of The Riverlands in the rebellion. Lord Tully had a price for his support. His younger daughter had to marry Lord Arryn. Tully's older daughter had previously been bethothed to Ned's older brother before the Mad King murdered him, so that bethothal fell to Ned. By the way, the names Stark and Lannister aren't an accident. If you remember the Wars of the Roses, the two houses vying for the throne of England were York and Lancaster. George RR Martin has put a lot of these real-world references in his books.

Wall of text is wall of text.

I'm saving up reactions to watch later because I just binged this entire series 20 months ago and it hasn't been long enough to watch it again.

You “really liked” that ending. 😂. It was pretty good. 🤣. 🔥🔥🔥🔥Respect ✊🏿

Ilsuk Yang

I enjoyed your reaction Natalie! Just to clarify, Tywin Lannister is the father to Cersei, Jaime, and Tyrion. Also, Bronn (the guy who fought for Tyrion) knew exactly what he was doing. He wasn't waiting for Lysa's permission to kill Ser Vardis. He was basically looking down on her while literally looking up at her. If she had asked for mercy for the knight, he still would've killed him. Only gold can buy his loyalty, which is why he went with Tyrion, the son of the richest man in the seven kingdoms!

Tadpoleaxe

Natalie, "AHHH What is that! What is that!". It's Tonks of Hufflepuff. LOL

Tadpoleaxe

The Lanister words are, "Hear me Roar".

Jenny Tolls

This reaction ended wayyy too abruptly lol

*TRIGGER WARNING* Justification of the physical violence on Cersei, and no comment when Robert says "You see what she does to me?" Physical violence against your partner (of any gender) is never acceptable when that person has never raised their hand to you. Ever. Especially when you consider that Joffrey seeing this behavior against his mother day after day almost certainly led to the way he treats women. Cersei deserves many things, but domestic abuse is not one of them.
