I really can't describe how happy I am that you're doing full-length episode reactions here on Patreon! Having something like this to look forward to (almost) every day is such a big help both in dealing with my depression and making each day of lock-down exciting, new and not just a blur of days <3

I second the D Prince. We all appreciate the time you set aside to watch these shows and its a real treat to watch them along with you. Thanks Nat 💛 I was good on the gore too 😵 An eyrie is another name for an eagle's nest, usually up high and hard to get to.

Love of animals. Yeah, about that...

Littlefinger is the guy in charge of the Treasury. He also runs the cities brothels.

i know i repeat a lot but i cant help it your reactions are just wonderful nat im loving watching again with you , ned is a great swordsman and was a worthy opponent for jamie , the cat arya was chasing was adorable :) already half way through season one wow nat youre powering through thankyou so much as the guys said above we appreciate you very much youre incredible

Well... one thing, if you are not good with gore, you picked the wrong series. The three things this series is known for is blood, boobs and death. Sorry.

Natalie be like: Who is that? What happened? What news? Also Natalie: That shaving asymmetry tho :D Also that guy who talked about Benjen. That was not a fake out. He pointed out that he considers Benjen his brother (by oath from the Night's watch) so by extension Ned is his brother too and that is why he should trust him basically.

Paul C

Ah... the ongoing Game of Syncs trying to match up Nat's video with my streaming service....

Let's just say "He doesn't care about his brother" is very very wrong

The opening.... It changes, yes. And eventually it gets to the point where it tells you where you will be going for the episode.

Also, Mord is the jailer that throws Tyrion into his cell at the Eyrie.

Finally a new stock of tissues at hand 😂 Your reactions are getting better and better, seeing you so excited about what's next is just great! I'm really looking forward to the next part of the series! Stay Golden as you are! 😄

Not exactly. The map does change to show different locations as the show progresses, but it always displays King's Landing, Winterfell, the Wall, and Daenerys' current location, regardless of whether we visit there that episode or not. I was interested some time back so I googled and found an interesting article. This article came out around the same time as season 7, so it's got spoilers. If you've seen the show already, the article is here: https://www.gamesradar.com/the-evolution-of-game-of-thrones-title-sequence-from-basic-map-to-a-deceptively-deep-part-of-the-shows-journey/ If you want a snippet without the spoilers: "The intro would always last 90 seconds, so as to not mess with the show's theme music. A soft-cap of six locations per episode was put in place to facilitate this, with capital cities used to stand in for key regions if a more obscure area was being visited in any particular episode. Certain locations have remained mandatory inclusions. King's Landing, Winterfell, the Wall, and Daenerys' current location were locked in early as a constant, background reminder of the show's most important locations, characters, and happenings. The visual journey between them became a tracing of the show's storytelling spine, a weekly compass reference not just for Thrones' geography, but also the location of its narrative. Individual animations and camera movements could be sped up to facilitate these rules, but the rules must always be obeyed."

Haven't watched the reaction yet, but just wanted to say that you may want to consider not watching the recap at some point, as while it doesn't really matter now when it is so early in the series and there are few episodes/events to recap, later on it can give away what is coming up in the episode in ways that may diminish your enjoyment of surprises, e.g. if they have a character who has not appeared for a while in the recap then you can pretty much be guaranteed they will be making an appearance in the episode. You may not care about this, but just thought I would say something in case you do.

G. T. Blackwell

Not sure anyone else has mentioned it: the actor who plays The Hound, Rory McCann, also played the "Yarp" guy (Michael Armstrong) in Hot Fuzz.

The reactions are great, but you'll know by season 2 if you want to keep going, it is a pretty intense show. There were a few episodes that started as I was heading to my couch and I didn't make it, ended up sitting on the floor in front the TV, clutching my fists like a little kid. I was lost during season 1, "what..... whoooo..... WHHHYYY?" By season 2 I was hooked and got acclimated to the world, "oh so lord dipity doo, holds this land and is sworn to lord dude the second...got it!"

Sean

Really? *looks it up* Ha! That's going to stick with me.

Great reaction! You asked what Arya was seeing when chasing the cat. If you recall the previous episode, Daenerys' brother Viserys told the slave that he had seen the dragon skulls in the throne room as a little boy. King Robert had them moved to the basement of the Red Keep, and that's where Arya stumbled across them. On the Small Council, Littlefinger is the Master of Coin, like the treasurer. On the side he runs a few brothels. When he was growing up, Littlefinger was sent by his father to squire for Lord Tully, Catelyn's father. There he fell in love with Catelyn, who never loved him back. Varys is the Master of Whispers, the King's head spy. He refers to the spys in his employ as his "little birds".

I think you'll need more and more tissues each season. This show just hurts so good.

My big 3 allergies are Mold, Indian Grass, and cats. I have 3 cats.

Can you react to Blade Runner 2049?

Lilla Kriger

I like how as you were saying in the map intro that it changes to different locations as it was showing the Eyrie, a new location lol.

Cripkie

the original is much better and necessary to follow the storyline. You should watch it brother if you havnt. Its a gem.

Cripkie

brotherhood is a bond that cant be broken. My brother is a selfish shit but i still look after him :)

WackySwacky

I feel like Nat talks over a lot of the dialogue and misses a bunch of stuff, but I guess that is just part of the nature of this sort of content.

Danishprince

That is also why she uses subtitles so she can keep up even when talking :)

With a show like GoT with so many episodes, that can be a pain. Fortunately, my copies sync with hers just fine, but there are European reactors that I've had to deal with the sync issue on shows like this. Fortunately, with VLC I can usually just set the playback speed of my copy to 1.04x and that greatly reduces the amount of manual syncing I have to do.

I just noticed that you were asking about the Dothraki. They were modeled after the Mongolians of the 11th Century. Under the Leadership of Ghengis Khan they invaded almost all of asia and even ventured into Eastern Europe. Their empire at it's peak was the largest in Earth history. They were mounted warriors from the steppes just like the Dothraki, relying on speed rather than the armor of the European knights. Each Mongolian warrior would have a bunch of horses to ride so they could ride for a long time without stopping as often to rest. When a horse got injured, it became dinner. They even drank horse milk. Their speed and clever tactics surprised their foes, who often just gave in without a fight. They were also fair. One of their leading commanders was one of their former slaves.

I'm a little late to this but you weren't entirely correct when you said the Mongol Empire was the largest in history. That accolade would go to The British Empire that encompassed a quarter of the worlds surface at its territorial extent and roughly a third of the worlds population at the same time. However you would be correct if you had said the Mongol Empire was the largest contiguous land empire in history. Otherwise the things you said were indeed correct.

I love that you're only five episodes in at this point and you're already at the "humming along with the opening credits music" stage :P
