Help me pick a movie to watch next week!

Matt Wyatt

Braveheart!

Anonymous

Saving Private Ryan for sure . Bring tissues

Flick Freaks

Prepare yourself emotionally...

Anonymous

My vote is Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse

Ian

Picked braveheart but all are good so win win 🙂

Anonymous

Damn all of those are good choices

Anonymous

The Last Samurai is in my top 10 favorite movies. But is has zero chance to be selected next to Saving Private Ryan and Braveheart

Christopher French

Everyone else has reacted to Saving Private Ryan. Mix it up with the Last Samurai!

Fraser

Guys do me this one solid and pick Braveheart, for the love of Scotland please

Daniel Drew

One of these days Th Last Samurai will win a poll here XD On that day, I shall say huzzah!

It Hurt A Lot

I figured it out, I'm voting for one I don't want to win so that I don't jinx the one I do. But in reality, all 4 of these are some of the best films I've ever seen. So it's a win win win win

Wally Hartshorn

The only one of these that I have not seen is “The Last Samurai”. The other three are all extremely good. I picked “The Last of the Mohicans” simply because I’ve seen so many reactions already to “Saving Private Ryan”. It looks like “Saving Private Ryan” is probably going to win, but I am fine with that. It’s a wonderful movie and I’m sure you will love it. I just recommend going back and watching the others later.

Anonymous

In terms of which one you’d have the most “fun” with I’d go with “Last Samurai”, but in terms of which is the best film it would have to be “Ryan”. Just be prepared for it to be brutal.

Anonymous

Saving private Ryan plus 30

Eric Janssen

WHAT is the freakin' deal with Last Samurai showing up on every single reactor’s polls? Did an entire generation of fangirls grow up with Tom Cruise as their first exposure to feudal Japanese culture, and thinks Akira Kurosawa is an anime character on a motorcycle? (Over on another reactor's polls, we’re still trying to convince voters why it won’t hurt to watch The Seven Samurai, one of the most badass films ever made.)

Anonymous

Last samurai is a very close second for me

Anonymous

Of these 4 Saving Private Ryan is my favorite, but these are all excellent films so please do all of them at some point.

Justin S.

The Last of The Mohicans is my favorite out of this poll and would be a good choice for the reason that it has not been as reacted to as much as the others. Michael Mann is one of the most talented directors and Manhunter, Heat, The Insider, and Collateral should be watched at some point. Saving Private Ryan is great as well but seen it many more times.

Anonymous

Wow these are all top tier films. I hope we eventually get all of them.

Anonymous

This patroen thing is awseome

Alan Kobb

There are actually 7 movies called Last of the Mohicans. The 1920 version is in the National Film Registry. I assume you are talking about the 1992 version with Daniel Day Lewis. I think they're all good choices, but I'll always go for something historical.

Robert Carroll

Last Samurai is beautiful. I had to.

Anonymous

These are all great movies. Braveheart is my all time fave though. All worth watching. And you’ll prob need tissues for all of them.

Anonymous

Urgh, the last of these you should watch is winning :(

Darryl Low

4 great movies again. Loving all this variety on your channel Nat 💛

Elisa H.

Holy crap that is one heavy list 😮

Anonymous

I would agree (though nothing against the Cruiser), I’ve also been trying to recommend classics to react to. Like Bong Joon Ho said about subtitles, if people could get over the fear of black and white there’s a whole treasure trove of five star stories waiting to be enjoyed. “Seven Samurai”, “Paths of Glory”, “12 Angry Men”, the Hitchcocks, etc Perhaps someone should make a reaction channel exclusively for older films.

Anonymous

SPR makes me cry everytime I see it...I'm a full-grown ass man who often laughs during horror movies...good luck. If you haven't seen it though, then your shit out of luck cos I'd say it's a bucket list film.

Arki Kali

Write-in vote for Rob Roy. 🙂

JediLounger

All of these movies are fantastic, must we choose just one? lol.

swoop_13-37

One of my go to movies. Getting the the point where I can remember what they are saying in Japanese.

Nathaniel Wolf

If we are writing stuff in, then I am throwing in Mr. Right. Sam Rockwell, Timothy Roth, and Anna Kendrick are very funny in this one.

Andy Crawley

I think Saving Private Ryan will probably win, and it is a brilliant film, but I voted for Last Of The Mohicans. Feel like it’s an absolute forgotten classic, the score for the film is one of the most beautiful music scores ever made, not to mention it’s just an all out great movie, DDL is awesome. If not then The Last Samurai, also an amazing film, one of Cruise’s best, Ken Watanabe is also incredible in it. Plus it has an amazing soundtrack as well! Maybe just watch them all, one a week for the next month?!

Alan Kobb

The losers aren't dropped forever. Once a vote was so close that Natalie ended up doing the top 2 movies, so vote for your lucky loser and maybe Natalie will buy extra tissues and do two of them. 🙂

john collins

no ant man this week? I love all of the films on this list but I really feel like you're going to LOVE ant man lol

John

You can't go wrong with any of these. You should definitely watch them all eventually. The only reason I didn't vote for Saving Private Ryan is I would recommend watching that in June since it takes place starting on D-Day, June 6th 1944. But it's an superior movie regardless when you watch it.

Vincent Valentin

Personally I like The Last Samurai more than SPR but SPR is almost certainly gonna win. Its good, but ive never really been compelled to re-watch it after i saw it a second time. Where as TLS was on repeat for a good part of my teen years.

Anonymous

Looks like “Saving Private Ryan” is winning and while it is the best film on this list (and one of the greatest war films of all time)... you guys are going to traumatize poor Natalie... lol

Anonymous

I just hope that Braveheart wins someday.. I love that movie!! :-)

tezster

Last of the Mohicans is severely underrated, or at the very least, overlooked. It's one of my all-time favourite films. I voted for it even though I know it's losing.

Steve J

I think SPR is definitely the highest quality movie on this list (maybe Spielberg's best?) but I voted for Braveheart because I think it has more reaction worthy moments for someone who hasn't seen it before. Much more humor between the parts of deadly seriousness. SPR you might just sit there for 3 hours in silence because the story is so intensely gripping.

Cole Jennett

I will take the Academy Award Winner, but Saving Private Ryan arguably should also hold that title. Good with either. The others, while quite good in my opinion, are a solid step below the other two.

Tiger Chu

Oh these movies are really heavy especially while watching it along with Game of Thrones as well. You're going to need a good comedy after this. 😬

Eric Janssen

As for Last Samurai, I'd put Tom Cruise up against THIS guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GF5U83UIX1o

JediLounger

Ant-Man should be on Monday. Game of Thrones in the middle of the week, and whatever wins this poll on Friday.

Anonymous

All great movies. Last of the Mohicans while a good movie would probably be the worst for a reaction, the pacing is a little slow at times. On par with Dances with Wolves (Which I own the extended director's cut of)

Michael G. Munz

There will be tissues. Oh, yes. There will be tissues.

Joe Blankenship

Ryan is great. I watched a reaction to it a few weeks back and even that 20 minute video had me in tears. Also be prepared for war, bloody, gruesome war.

Anonymous

Wow, this was a tough one...I like 'em all...

Joe Blankenship

Yeah, I mean it's pretty damn raw, makes you appreciate the people brave enough to step into that.

Anonymous

Four excellent choices. Well, three, anyway.

Anonymous

Shame.. I think The Last Samurai is a more interesting watch. There is certainly a greater depth of emotion and philosophy in it.

Gary Poussard

Braveheart should be next after SPR.

Edward Olson

EVERY reactor on YouTube is watching Saving Private Ryan. There's nothing new to be reacted to there. How many reactions do people want to watch of the same movie, over and over? There's no point in even voting as people seemed determined to see yet another reaction of that movie.

Ken

In case anyone doesn't know, you can vote for more than one.

Anonymous

Looks like Saving Private Ryan will win... Great movie... But please keep Braveheart in rotation... You will love it.

Cole Jennett

Genius to put up this list right before month end in case some Patreon’s were considering dropping off. Worth the monthly cost alone to see her react to SPR or Braveheart.

Anonymous

These are OK. Saving Private Ryan is good. Braveheart was intertaining. The Last Samurai too. No strong will to see one over the other. Here is one that would beat these out in my book (as far as interest in watching a reaction, not, per se, the movie itself. The Postman.

Christian Rennie

I would go with Last of the Mohicans.

Eric Janssen

This isn't just entertainment for us, it's therapy for them-- For every single YouTube reaction to Airplane, Star Wars:ANH, Jaws, Holy Grail, Blazing Saddles or Schindler's List, there's someone who HASN'T SEEN THEM YET. And that could be a gateway to Casablanca, Sound of Music...who knows? We are hope for a movie-deprived generation, now that the TV Late Show is dead.

Christian Rennie

Last of the Mohicans doesn’t get enough love and the rest are all great movies. Saving Private Ryan is a must see but Maybe a change of pace from the modern warfare movies. Brave Heart would be a good choice but it’s been played to death. Last of the Mohicans, when it doesn’t get the vote might be a spare time movie. Just remember to bring the tissues.

Starromania72

Plugged for Last Samurai as it's a good tourist brochure for my home town & province in New Zealand where a good portion of it was filmed (Mt Taranaki subs in for Mt Fuji). It also showcases the talents of Ken Watanabe, Billy Connolly and Timothy Spall (father of Rafe Spall, Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz). Personally, I prefer Ed Zwick's earlier film Glory - some powerful performances there, but it shares some very similar elements with Last Samurai, which kinda spoiled the latter for me.

David Brown

Ant-Man, please.

Anonymous

Last Samurai then Saving Private Ryan

Randee Carreno

I had a difficult time deciding between "Braveheart" and "Saving Private Ryan". Both excellent movies! 😊

JayWantsACat

All of these are worth a watch. I voted The Last of the Mohicans because it's great, a personal fave, and the other films have been reacted to ubiquitously

Anonymous

BRAVEHEART is all sorts of wildly inaccurate and ahistorical. SAVING PRIVATE RYAN is all sorts of accurate. And doesn't star an antisemite. No contest.

Josh B

So few people know Last of the Mohicans, top 5 movies for me all time. doesn't get much better than Daniel Day Lewis. Braveheart is great aswell

Zach Greenleaf

All four eventually, but Saving Private Ryan first!

Eric Janssen

For those complaining about "One more Saving Private Ryan", think Last of the Mohicans is new unexplored reactor territory broken. Good to see that one get out into the ether.

Anonymous

Everyone and their dog has done a Saving Private Ryan reaction, how about American Sniper or Black Hawk Down, which don't have any reaction videos?

Anonymous

I did vote Saving private Ryan also but Last of the Mohicans is also a great movie. Please keep those other movies in your last polls in mind as well.

Kevin Mowery

Last of the Mohicans is the only one that's on a streaming service I have (Hulu), so I vote for it.

Dooly

If I had to pick an order for these to watch ( I don't have to, but I'm gonNA DO IT ANYWAY! MWAAAHAHAHAHAHA! ) it would be Ryan, Mohicans, Braveheart, Samurai. It's not really about which is the better movie, just about the the way I liked them.

Matthew Periolat

Braveheart, without question. It’s in my personal top five despite being historically inaccurate to say the least and Mel Gibson being Mel Gibson. Also absolutely love Last of the Mohicans. Last Samurai is a pretty solid movie.

Jonathan Vickers

I would suggest saving Braveheart until August. I watch it every August 23. The Last Samurai would be big right now as there is a Samurai Netflix doc just released. But all 4 are shiny choices. I would definitely sit on Saving Private Ryan because it's an American heavy and we could all use something lighter right now. Plus there is a cameo that might be more exciting after a good wait. 😉

David Crabtree

My vote I'd for Saving Private Ryan. Although Braveheart would be a close second, and I just love everything Mel Gibson.

AC5555

I see Saving Private Ryan is good! Braveheart is okay but Last Samurai is far better in my opinion. I would also include Kingdom of heaven at some point.

Dan

If you haven't seen GATTACA, that's one you should check out for sure!

Vincent Valentin

Kingdom of Heaven (directors cut) is amazing. If that was on this list that would be my pick.

Anonymous

Voted Mohicans because it's the the best one listed and you'll like it more. Everyone voting for Private Ryan...... jeez, people.

Anonymous

Sadness the Last Samurai isn't winning. Hopefully you give it a shot though some other time!

Anonymous

Literally all of them are pretty dang realistic movies of their times showing bloody and emotional conflict. Hope she's ready for these. All are pretty much must watch though imho

warcrimes

How is The Last Samurai beating Last of the Mohicans? They're not even close in quality. C'mon people!

Chris Gronau

Nat's reaction to Ant-Man will probably be released on Monday. (At least, that's the pattern she's been following lately....) This poll should be for the movie reaction released this Friday (again, assuming she follows her recent release pattern holds true....)

Chris Gronau

All of these are great choices. On a scale of 1-10, all of them would rate 10 except "Last of the Mohicans", which would rate a good, solid 11. It looks like "Saving Private Ryan" is going to win, though. Not that I'm complaining. "Saving Private Ryan" is still a good, solid movie....

DaMarkiM

good selection. have to vote last samurai even tho deep down in my heart i know its probably not quite up there.

Anonymous

The Last of the Mohicans is absolutely the best film here. Hope more people vote for it!

Anonymous

If you want some different films you should check out Pan's Labyrinth (directed by Guillermo del Toro). It's his best film. Absolute masterpiece.

Anonymous

The Nice Guys is also fantastic. Hilarious 70s era crime comedy/drama Directed by the guy who did Iron Man 3.

Jaybird922

this is a great poll. i hope you watch all of these eventually

Michael Labs

Hard choices here this week, I do hope Last Samurai and Braveheart get their chance as well eventually...

Anonymous

I like that you are trying a few more serious films to balance out the entertainments.

Jay Beiler

Yeahhh All of them would be good....

Patrick Toscano

Love me some Last of the Mohicans

Andrew Dickinson

Braveheart...yep, going to be tears, Saving Private Ryan...yep, sobs gonna happen, The Last Samurai...the waterworks going to be in action...Last of the Mohicans..all of the above.

Ronny Boss

I love all these movies, a really hard thing to vote on. Was wondering. How do you choose what films and shows to put up in your polls?

Ortizmo2000

Saw SPR the night it opened. Haven't watched it again since. Not because it was a bad film. I just can't ever watch it again. It affected me that deeply. Sorry to say, I shant be watching this with you.

Anonymous

Saving Private Ryan, for sure, followed by Last of the Mohicans. You absolutely can skip the other two, they're both rather infuriating (Not to mention so hilariously historically inaccurate they may as well be in middle earth.)

Michael Frotton

I worked at a movie theater when SPR came out. A co-worker told me that immediately after watching it he went to his grandfather’s house and gave him a hug and thanked him. His grandfather participated in the D-Day landings but never really spoke about his experiences to his family.

Dan Careaga

Saving Private Ryan is incredible. If it wins this poll I am buying stock in Kleenex before you watch it. Brace yourself.

WackySwacky

Never seen Last of the Mohicans so that's my pick.

Anonymous

i like all the options actually, but save private ryan is a must. after that ill say the last mohican. on third place ill put last samurai. That one is a personal preference because i love japanese culture and history but braveheart its a better movie.

Anonymous

I feel that your talents would be wasted on any of these films. "Braveheart" is frequently mentioned as the most historically inaccurate film ever made; "Samurai" and "Mohicans" are fake down to their bones; "Ryan" is mostly disingenuous. The latter three are well directed and acted, though, and the cinematography is first-class.

Ulrich Unterbrunner

Anything but Braveheart. While the latter 3 all have at least tried to be to historically accurate while portraying fiction. The first one claims to be portraying actual history, while being so inaccurate it almost hurts - also it has way to many errors regarding its actual production (cutting, continuity). I would love to see you reacting to Master and Commander: The far side of the world, which is one of the best historical dramas (based on a real figure in a made up story, depicted with extreme accuracy and would have gotten a shitload of academy awards, but had the bad luck of a movie nominated in almost all categories together with Return of the King - it won the two it was not nominated alongside) made in the last 20 years.

Cripkie

all tear jerking action dramas but ive gotta go Braveheart. My Scottish nan wouldn't let me forget my history.

Anonymous

If you thought Braveheart was a documentary, you've been misinformed. It is not historically accurate. Now that you've had that disclaimer, please go ahead and enjoy this award-winning film.

Eric

Saving Private Ryan is Such a timeless classic One of my personal favorites I love how it doesn’t shy away from the reality’s of war of that time. I still can’t believe this classic lost Best picture to Shakespeare in love still haven’t got over it lol.

Anonymous

Last samurai and saving private Ryan both great movies but still want u to watch swtor cinematic. Set during war between jedi and sith and looks down right amazing. Please give it a try, its 20mins long, so think of it in same way u think of the mandalorian.

Cole Jennett

Lol. “The latter three are well directed and acted”. So Braveheart the best picture and Best Director Oscar winner “wasn’t” well directed? Ok then.

Anonymous

Another would be the imitation game. About the code breakers in ww2, and pretty much the father of computing.

Anonymous

Suggestion. You should do hidden polls somehow where a person cant see the status of all the votes until after they choose. I wonder if movies that have clear winners would be closer if they didn't know who was already winning? Idk just an idea. The effect could be negligible

Edward Olson

I just looked at the poll settings options and that isn't there. Can choose an end date or decide if people can vote on more than one option. No option to hide number of votes. She'd have to do the poll off-site to do that.

David W Richards

Saving Private Ryan is the most intense opening fifteen minutes of a movie I have ever seen.

Anonymous

I cant remember if I saw The last of the Mohicans, but I definitely saw the others. I would say Private Ryan may be the best on that list, but Mel Gibson is also tainted in my mind, so that may be affecting my vote. The last samurai was good, but not very memorable to me. I would probably rather see a reaction to Black Rain

Anonymous

I recommended this on another of her Videos. Maybe she can do a list of subtle Sci-fi. Have this and the Time traveler's wife. Maybe finish it off with Timer starring Emma Caulfield.

Anonymous

YO! Last of the Mohicans is my Favorite movie... and no one ever watches it. So even if it loses... keep it in your back pocket for the future... and for people like me. Please and Thank You.

Justin S.

I understand losing interest in Mel Gibson movies but I still find the Lethal Weapon movies entertaining and Ransom is a strong, emotional film. I found Braveheart to be somewhat overrated since I first saw it.

Cripkie

I think the anti-Semitism came from Hollywood. Im Australian, there are barely any Jewish people here. Shit if i was recorded in times of blackout id look like a piece of shit too.

Anonymous

I voted The Last Samurai, but it looks like Saving Private Ryan is gonna win. Prepare yourself for this movie if it wins.

Anonymous

Can I recommend you put Tombstone in the running at some point?

Anonymous

As they say, a drunk tongue speaks a sober mind. He had anti semitic statements, statements against black people, statements against women, on more than one recording. He's going to need an amazing "comeback tour", to get this fan back again.

Anonymous

If you liked the Firefly series you will like the Expanse series on Amz Prime. Amazing characters, great writing, and the physics....the PHYSICS!!! Scifi series' have never been sooo compelling.

Anonymous

Saving private Ryan is such a amazing film maybe she could follow up with band of brothers

Jennifer

This isn’t one of the options, but I want to put it out there because it is my absolute favorite animated movie ever. The Prince of Egypt is fantastic and you definitely don’t have to be religious to enjoy it!

Anonymous

Can I see Requiem for a Dream on one of these lists in the future.

Anonymous

Oof. Heavy movie. But I still pull up Lux Aeterna on YouTube once in a while because it's such a beautiful score. Probably my favorite movie score.

Anonymous

Yea, you right. It’s an intense film. Love the score as well.

Darryl Low

It's funny because when I first joined Nat's Patreon way back when, the polls were hidden until you placed your vote. You got 1 vote and you couldn't change it once placed. There's been several version updates since then.

acidnova

I'm also a sucker for the orchestrated version they used in the Two Towers trailer. I'll never forget being in the theater (forget which movie) and that trailer came on and the realization that I was hearing Lux Aeterna knocked me for a loop.
