Awesome Nat. Been looking forward to this. Perfect for a Sunday night. I was waiting for you to say the opening music sounded like Harry Potter. Same composer and same director. A great score. I love how they use the camera in this movie.. They are from an adult's POV when looking at Kevin and reversed when Kevin's looking at an adult. It wouldn't be a holiday movie without Nattie reaching for the tissues. Hey, we all did too! Great video Nat, and already looking forward to your next holiday video. Thank you.

Cant wait to check this out, will iron man 3 be next month then? I only ask cause the movie is Christmas themed.

Jason Dolan

My favorite trivia about Home Alone is that the interior of Kevin's house is shot in an old high school basketball gym in Illinois

Love the reactions Natalie. :-) I have to download this to watch it. For some reason no videofiles will play directly from google drive. I tried just about everything. I had the same issues with other reactors as well. Does anybody here have a solution for me besides having to dowload it and try to use two media players at the same time.

Sean

"Wouldn't you just quit at this point?" SMH, Nat, this is why you aren't a criminal mastermind like Marv and Joe Pesci's character whose name I always forget.

JediLounger

Plays fine for me in Firefox. It's just a m4v file, should not be anything special about playing it.

JediLounger

Watching it now Natalie, lots of fun. I know you have not been doing sequels, you should consider watching the second movie, its even more unlikely and stupid. Same cast, director and everything though. Still has the Christmas theme.

BNJ

I would also recommend watching the sequel, it's pretty entertaining too.

A funny and cute reaction Nat haha ! Have good holidays with yours and stay golden everyone, Nat!

Randee Carreno

Another fantastic reaction video. This is one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies that I have to watch every year. The sequel is really good too if you haven't seen that one yet. Until the next video, Happy Holidays & Stay Golden! 😊💛

Definitely a holiday comedy classic I always found the scenes with the old man next door to be the most touching and emotional. Really teaches kids multiple important lessons there in that you should not judge someone until you actually meet them and that you should never give up on family. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is just as good as the original in my mind with many of the same cast and director returning, as well some other good actors in supporting roles such as Tim Curry. It's more over the top and unrealistic with the final act but when it's a family movie, those things can simply be ignored and just enjoy the movie. Definitely needs to be watched at some point here.

Justin S.

I hope she will get around to watching many of the sequels in many of the movie series she plans to watch because several of them are very entertaining, perhaps even better than the original. She did watch Aliens which I think is slightly better than Alien.

You should check out Jack Frost with Michael Keaton, you haven't seen it before.

I have very mixed feelings on this movie. Act 2 and 3 are great fun to watch but without getting into too many details, Act 1 is nearly unwatchable for me. I blame the uncle for triggering a lot of abusive relative memories, so I rarely can watch. Nat... helped, but did not cure. But worth it to see her ooo and ahhh over Macaulay Culkin. Recommend Uncle Buck and My Girl for more, but grab Kleenex especially for the latter. Happy Holidays and look forward to more heading into Christmas.

Leaf on the Wind

What they were watching in France was another classic Christmas movie called "It's a Wonderful Life." Pretty good, I'd recommend it. Plus it's in the public domain, so you can put your entire reaction on YouTube and no one can do shit.

MotoDork

I was a projectionist at a Cinemark theater in Danville, KY, when this film was released, so I've seen it numerous times.

I remember hearing that most of John Candy's dialog was improvised...what a classic! Thanks, Nalalie!

Misty Crom

Wow it's been a while since I watched that. Such a great film still, generally, and a fantastic Christmas movie. A few points there, I think you kinda forgot this was made in 1990. No-one was texting anyone back then. I remember when I saw this as a kid, I totally bought into Buzz' thing about the neighbour having killed his family. But watching it now, he's so clearly just some old guy helping out the neighbourhood. Apparently, John Candy was only available for one day for filming, and was the only actor allowed to go off-script; improvising all of his lines. Anyways, take care and Happy Holidays. And keep the change, ya filthy animal!

It seems we've hit the limit for downloading for Google Drive. I'll paste the message below: "Sorry, you can't view or download this file at this time. Too many users have viewed or downloaded this file recently. Please try accessing the file again later. If the file that you are trying to access is particularly large or is shared with many people, it may take up to 24 hours to be able to view or download the file. If you still can't access a file after 24 hours, contact your domain administrator."

Martin Firth

I found a way to download while over the limit: Use the folder icon to create a shortcut in your own Google Drive. Then visit your drive, find the shortcut, right click and make a copy. You can download the copy.

Opti_Frog

Remember to copy the reaction video to your own drive, or everyone will get the "Too many users have viewed or downloaded this file recently" message.

When you were laughing about the amount of ice cream I couldn’t help realize the meta moment and said out loud: I’m watching video of a girl watching a movie with a kid eating ice cream while watching a movie.

Justin S.

I also recommend My Girl. I saw it when I was quite young and it might have been the first movie to make me teary eyed, especially that one scene.

Justin S.

In addition to the second, Home Alone 3 is entertaining as well, although it was definitely not as well received as the first two. Different kid but similar scenario with 4 criminals. Also, there is a small appearance by someone who plays a big character in the MCU. You can always easily look it up but it's more fun to be surprised.

Thomas Malley

Yeah she’s got too many fans now. She needs some Amazon hosting, or host it on YouTube with a password for the special invited. Or release it on torrent. :)

Thomas Malley

That’s true. That’s the one movie you don’t have to worry about copyright strikes. And it’s an all time classic!

Thomas Malley

She almost have to watch Uncle Buck just to finish out the John Hughes, John Candy trilogy.

Kraps

Loved your reaction, plus it gave me an excuse to watch it again! Will you be doing Home Alone 2 soon?

Thundarr100

I always love your reactions Nat, and you did not disappoint this time. I'm looking forward to the next Christmas movie you react to. I don't know which ones you have or haven't seen yet, but I'd love to see you react to Die Hard and A Christmas Story.

Texas Anla'Shok

You've got to watch Iron Man 3 before Christmas, or at least before December is out.

Jack Mellor

What absolutely delightful movie. The older I get, the more I appreciate it’s more touching themes of family and all that, and no matter how old I get, it’s still funny as hell. Chris Columbus (who also directed first two Harry Potter movies) and John Hughes are an absolute dream team. BTW, you mentioned John Hughes’ obsession with Chicago. He was born in Michigan but he grew up in Northbrook, Illinois a suburb of Chicago, and it was his experiences there at school that gave him inspiration for many of his films (Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink etc.), indeed many are passive love-letters to the Windy City. Great reaction! Side note: You’d hate to come to my house, I keep tarantulas as exotic pets, they’re in Kritter Keepers directly in front of me as I’m typing this. Just never been arachnophobic, wasn’t as a kid, and as an adult I approach it with “I at least find them interesting animals (some species are actually quite colourful in how they look, just saying), most people hate spiders so someone’s gotta love them”. I’ve even kept the species of the one used in the film, a Costa Rican species if I’m not mistaken.

Nicholas Hentges

Well if you want to go back to MCU this month, Iron man 3 is one of the first of phase 2 (a lot of them take place at the same time in phase 2) and is a Christmas movie by Shane black, so it checks like 4 Christmas boxes lol

Jorge Lopez

This was SO much fun. I waited to watch this on Christmas Day. I did not expect to get very emotional either, but living alone and not being able to see family because of COVID, this hit me harder than I could've imagined. Thank you for sharing this reaction with us and for keeping me company for a couple of hours today, Nat. Hope you and everyone here has enjoyed their day.
