Alright y'all!

I'm taking no breaks this month and not going easy on myself...what movie should I torture myself with next? (Don't worry, I'm being mostly sarcastic...mostly)

Comments

Anonymous

Cabin in the Woods or Tucker and Dale Versus Evil or Shaun of the Dead!

Bambi

I love horror classics but the quiet place was a masterpiece and inclusive of the deaf community. Would love to see you watch it

Anonymous

Good reasons to watch classics like Halloween and new stuff like A Quiet Place.

Anonymous

This was a thought choice, all of these would be great to watch next.

Heidi Liedtke

They're not TERRIBLY scary (aka, me who doesn't watch horror can watch them) but I highly recommend Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz. Hot Fuzz is more of a thriller, but it's great. Also What We Do In The Shadows is a good spooky month movie to watch!

Andy Jordan

The Exorcist is an absolute classic, holds up remarkably well, and none of the others would exist without it (although all of these are terrific). I hope you'll be able to get to it, even if it doesn't win this poll.

Anonymous

I catching up on ur recent stream. Consider The Village M. Night Shymalan and Dreamcatcher Stephen King. Both are non-traditional thrillers.

Ronny Boss

Bubba Ho-Tep would be really fun to watch. It's a great horror comedy starring Bruce Campbell

Anonymous

Jump scare movies are fun, but I think The Thing (1982) is a wonderfully scary movie that holds up even after almost 40 years. It's psychological as well as jump scare. On this list, only The Exorcist at the Quiet Place have some psychological terror. Thank you!

Andy Jordan

She added Shaun of the Dead to her list on one of the last Twitch streams she did, if I remember correctly.

Darryl Low

They are all good choices. I think we should save Hallowe'en until the end of the month, that's if your nerves aren't shattered by then.

Robert

Try “Lady in White”. Not top-of-the-line special effects, but worth your time...

Anonymous

Shaun of the Dead should be on this list!

Jack the Narrator

While "A Quiet Place" is well directed and has a palpable atmosphere about it, the movie has such ginormous and inescapable plot-holes throughout it that I couldn't enjoy it to recommend to others. I'm voting for "The Exorcist".

Matthew Jaszyn

Be sure to watch The Evil Dead trilogy at some point.

Anonymous

I have a suggestion to watch on your own time or for reaction, "Fright Night." 1985 original.

Oouga

Salem's Lot. This terrified me when it first came out!

Getoff Mylawn

Ooh "fright night"s a good one! I'm still pushing "the Lost boys" though!

Andy Jordan

Agreed. Horror is a perfect medium for slow burn stories, since they thrive on tension and release, so the longer you draw out the tension and draw in the audience, the better, but relatively few these days take advantage of that, although Ari Aster and Robert Eggers are doing exactly that brilliantly in their own ways lately. I can see an in-his-prime Hitchcock making a movie like A Quiet Place or Hereditary if he were alive today.

David Martin

Plz try to get to Scream, Sleepy Hollow, and The Skeleton Key

Anonymous

If you haven’t seen the exorcist I definitely want to watch it with you. It’s been years for me and the time is right. Fingers crossed.

JediLounger

I think we should consider saving Halloween for the end of the month.

Robert Reichle

Yeah. Last week of the month. Two or three reactions. That's plenty. Halloween isn't that big a deal.

Max du Coudray

Given Nat isn't a huge horror fan, asking for all three may be a stretch. The second is basically a remake so I'd probably recommend she start there.

Anonymous

A Quiet Place having more votes than The Exorcist has some serious 2020 energy behind it.

Anonymous

Is there a place to suggest a film? I am thinking the original "Blade Runner".

Anonymous

The exorcist!

Gregory Coburn

Scream is a good one, for someone not super into horror movies

Anonymous

If you're into classic gothic-style ghost stories, "The Changeling" with George C. Scott and Trish Van Devere is brilliant! Absolutely the best ghost story on film.

Anonymous

I think the Exorcist would make for an amazing reaction!

Anonymous

Still got to say Cabin In The Woods is my all time favorite scary(ish) movie and have to suggest it.

Anonymous

I'd love to see a Scream reaction!

Anonymous

I hope Monster Squad makes a poll for this month!

Anonymous

Any of these would make fun reaction watchalongs! Some movies I hope make one of your horror movie polls this month: Poltergeist, Scream, Creepshow, and Jeepers Creepers.

Brandon Scott

I just wanted to, once again, add 13 Ghosts to the list. If anyone else out there knows that movie and wants to see it on the next poll type it in or give this comment a heart.

RationallySassy

Scream and Cabin in the Woods - amazing films!

Anonymous

Getting ready to watch The Thing reaction, should be good! Some movies I'd love to see end up on a horror movie poll this month: Scream, Poltergeist, The Monster Squad, Arachnophobia, Paranormal Activity, Jeepers Creepers,

Eric

Let Me In and Trick-or-Treat are what I consider classic Halloween movies you should consider watching Two amazing films.

John

Not so scary, but another great Halloween movie is The Lost Boys.

Brandon Scott

I can't believe I didn't think of this one! Joss Wheadon is key. It would be a nice parallel to Firefly!

Troy B.

I would watch Scream, Cabin in Woods, or Quiet Place. The others traumatized me as a kid and took me years to forget the nightmares, lol.

Aaron Taft

I'm Telling ya, 1408 Samuel Jackson and John Cusack

Anonymous

I think another fun one would be the 2006 animated Monster House.

Spooky Dooky

I'm not voting for any of these. I'm voting for FireFly ep5 :D

Holly R

Cabin in the Woods doesn't really work until she's seen a number of the classics first

Armchair Wizard

well she's doing that regardless, this poll has no effect on that so thats a ridiculous reason lol.

Dave Hampton

Favorites to see reactions to would be Cabin in the Woods and Scream but I agree with another comment I saw here that they would be better after she has seen some classics, so maybe next year. For this year I would say some of those classics like Nightmare on Elm Street, Evil Dead 2 (skip Evil dead 1 IMO, not that it is bad just 2 is better), Friday the 13th part (take your pick), Halloween, and I would say the Conjuring as well.

PickettsChargingPort

Wow. The exorcist is winning. I haven't seen a quiet place yet, but the rest a good picks.

Anonymous

A Quiet Place is a must!! ;)

Anonymous

Wow. This is so close. Maybe you have your next two. A Quiet Place was up 25, now The Exorcist is up 12. Surprisingly close race.

JediLounger

If you end up watching The Exorcist, just be aware that there is an extended cut that was released in 2000. I saw it in theaters during the release, it was quite an experience. You could go either way on which one to watch, both are very scary. But I think the new cut has a slight edge. The director was personally involved in the making of the cut, and he used footage that he filmed but was unusable for various reasons until technology improved enough to fix it. Both are on Amazon for the same amount of money.

Anonymous

I voted for Nightmare on Elm Street, but any of these movies would be fun for Natalie to react to. I'd love to see Scream on one of the next polls!

Anonymous

If Exorcist holds out, that is going to be an intense reaction video!! Some movies I'd love to see get voted on this month: Monster Squad, Demon Knight, Paranormal Activity, The Lost Boys, Creepshow.

Anonymous

Please react to Scream! One of my favorite movies ever!

Anonymous

Man I was really hoping for a Nightmare on Elm Street reaction. Maybe in a future poll. I hope to see Poltergeist on one of the horror movie polls this month.

Anonymous

Oh boy, if the Exorcist wins, that movie is going to be quite the experience for Natalie. I suggest maybe a Horror/comedy next, or something not as intense. Shaun of the Dead, Gremlins, Twilight Zone: The Movie, Arachnophobia, Monster Squad.

Anonymous

Nightmare on Elm Street and A Quiet Place are probably the only films on this poll I like, but I'm sure whatever wins will be a fun reaction from Natalie. Some horror movie recommendations: Lost Boys, Jeepers Creepers, Scream, Event Horizon, Fallen, The Devil's Advocate.

Anonymous

I'm really glad you're doing this horror month theme! I'm a big fan of the horror movies from the 80's, so I'd love to see Nightmare of Elm Street win this poll(most likely won't), and hope to see films like Poltergeist, Creepshow, The Howling, Fright Night, Monster Squad, They Live, Evil Dead and American Werewolf in London.

Anonymous

Aw, not much love for Halloween.

Anonymous

Here are some scary movie picks: Paranormal Activity, Seven, Ghost House, Jack Frost(not the Michael Keaton version), Trick r Treat, Dawn of the Dead (2003 remake), The Ring (2002), and since you just watched the 1982 classic, I think it would be fun to watch the 2011 prequel, The Thing.

Anonymous

If Exorcist holds out, I suggest not watching it too late!

Anonymous

I would love to see Jeepers Creepers on here. It's a great, "creepy" little film. Justin Long is really good in it.

Anonymous

Continuing to catch up on your Twitch stream. You can set moderators who can monitor and kick bad actors like this Plank (I didn’t see what he posted).

Anonymous

I love your channel Natalie! So glad you're doing Horror movie reactions for October.

Anonymous

Idk but. Nat kicked him

Anonymous

A lot of fun scary movies to choose from this month! I see a lot of people recommending Scream, which would be a lot of fun! That movie is iconic for reinvigorating the horror movie genre back in the mid to late 90's. And it's a great film!

Anonymous

Ohhh, it looks Exorcist is going to win. Welp, R.I.P. to Natalie's nerves.

Anonymous

Oh, another film I'd like to recommend which has elements of horror, suspense, and comedy... one of my all-time favorite Tom Hanks films, The Burbs!

Anonymous

There are far scarier movies, but you've got to watch Monster Squad! It's the perfect Halloween film.

John Burns Burnsey

Remember the Horror comedy 'House'? Another good one. William Katt, George Wendt, Richard Moll.

Anonymous

It's nice to see Nightmare on Elm Street getting some love. I'd like to see Wes Craven's other big horror movie Scream on one of these polls. I'll also recommend a more recent horror film, 2018's Hereditary.

Anonymous

I think you should also watch some funny spooky movies - Beetlejuice, Young Frankenstein. You can watch Nightmare Before Christmas as either a Halloween or a Christmas movie (or both).

Anonymous

BTW Natalie, was that a Newt reference? ... mostly. :-)

Anonymous

I’m not really interested in any of these titles. I don’t watch horror myself, so I’ll just look forward to your regular content and some Mandalorian in November.

Anonymous

I enjoyed The Exorcist, plus Linda Blair was a lot of fun to meet.

Anonymous

How about Conjuring 2 ? <3

Nathan Fares

A Nightmare On Elm Street is a Classic. Have to go with that one

Anonymous

Paranormal Activity, The Conjuring, Van Helsing (Action movie, but still qualifies for Halloween), hell, even Underworld technically counts.

Anonymous

ooo close contention between The Exorcist and A Quiet Place. I prefer the type of horror in A Quiet Place more, but I can totally understand why people would want you to watch The Exorcist too. A new classic horror or an old. If you need another suggestion, I'd recommend Don't Breathe.

Thomas Malley

You can call your Halloween series ‘HelloScream with Natalie Gold’ because you start with a friendly hello and you end with screaming.

Anonymous

The Omen might also be a good contender for the next poll. But I want Natalie to watch The Exorcist next. ^^

RebRox65

Hi Natalie, I just finished watching your reaction to The Thing, You didn’t disappoint, I love it your face on so many times 🤣 This is why I like you so much. Can I just tell you a quick story about the Thing, I was on vacation in universal studio and they were filming The Thing way off in the distance, all this sand and hills and was this big patch of ice in a square and this is what our tour guide told us they were filming this big monster picture.

RebRox65

Did you know that the behind the scenes story of The Exorcist is far more scary than the movie it’s self, lot of illnesses and death, and things going wrong in the filming, check it out

RebRox65

One last consideration for a movie, I noticed you said at the beginning of The Thing that you wished it was a sci-fi movie, well why not watch the final movie in Friday the 13th franchise “JASON X” it set on board a spaceship in the future and Jason wake up from being frozen, it’s a really fun movie, I couldn’t stop laughing in the cinema.

Armchair Wizard

respectfully, i disagree. Skipping all the Friday the Thirteenth movies and skipping straight to the most B movie one of them is not a good idea. Maybe one day.

Anonymous

I like "NATMARE MOVIE MONTH!"

Anonymous

Looking forward to the Exorcist reaction, assuming it holds on to the lead. There so many great scary films to request, here's a few- Poltergeist, Signs, Scream, The Evil Dead, Demon Knight(Tales From The Crypt film), Tales of Halloween.

cosmic wave

Please watch some non Horror movies as well, as I don't enjoy these. Like at all.

Anonymous

Have you considered The Haunting of Hill House? It is on Netflix. There are 10 episodes in the first season, and the second season starts this week. The show follows a family that moved into Hill House back in the 90s: two parents and 5 children. The story is told in two timelines, when the family moves in and 26 years later when the children are adults. The series is very well received, with a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Anonymous

'John Dies At The End', is a fun spooky weird movie.

Anonymous

Has she seen “The Abyss”? Great movie. Not that scary though

Peter Heine

One of greatest Horror movies of all time, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)

Ron K

Idea for non-scary movie for in between the scary ones if you've never seen it is Ready Player One. Lots of great 80's nostalgia. Humor, action and a love story.

Anonymous

General feedback...some of my favorite reaction videos spend a few minutes after the movie picking apart the plot and exploring character motivations. I would love to hear more about what you felt was happening in the movie and what you thought of the story. I'm just used to having that kind of conversation after watching a movie with someone. I love your videos though, stay golden!

john collins

i would love to see these horror films spaced out with marvel movies or something? also maybe consider adding on a patreon only live stream of some sort that us and if your bf wants to join can all watch the same movie at once and chat with eachother.

nataliegold

Thanks! I do try to do this in my brain...but honestly...it takes me hours or sometimes days to process a movie. I did talk today on Twitch about some thoughts on The Thing. But I'm usually fried right after I watch a film and have a hard time thinking of what to talk about. Hopefully I can get better at this though because I think adding some more commentary would be cool!

swoop_13-37

Frankly I'm super disappointed the original Friday the 13th didn't get more votes..... It hast to be watched.... It's one of the greatest.... The suspense alone. Truly terrorized me when I was 13.

Ronny Boss

Looking at the poll I find myself wondering, what movie does Natalie wanna watch? Or maybe it would cool for you to react to a film that you haven't seen since you were little. #Nat'sNostalgia

Justin S.

After watching The Exorcist, I definitely recommend watching the Exorcist III. It is one of the best written horror films out there and a much better sequel than The Exorcist 2, which was a dud. Anyway, just decided to become a patron here and I'll always have good suggestions here, for just about every movie category. I like to choose films that were good but not quite as popular as a lot of the classics are. Here are my scary movie suggestions: Tourist Trap (1979)- This PG rated movie is one of the creepiest you'll ever see. Christine (1983)- A Stephen King Novel adaptation, Directed by John Carpenter, who did The Thing and Halloween. Fright Night (1985)- A cool vampire movie with a soundtrack that is fun to listen to. The Fly (1986)- Maybe the best combination of science fiction and horror. Child's Play (1988)- The original Chucky movie and still the best. Bram Stroker's Dracula (1992)- My personal favorite version of this story. The Relic (1997)- A cool monster flick from the 90s. The Ninth Gate (1999)- A creepy mystery starring Johnny Depp. The Descent (2005)- A creepy cave thriller that is underrated. Slither (2006)- An outrageous horror comedy starring Nathan Fillion from Firefly.

Justin S.

Yes, The original is a classic and has a good, creepy atmosphere through most of it. Part 2, 3, and the Final Chapter were good as well and then they started getting more dumb and less memorable, although I did like Part 6.

Justin S.

She should react to The Shining (1980) first so she will get the references.

Anonymous

Great movie but it’s not on Blu. The only digital/ streaming copy I find is a pan and scan version. If she can find the widescreen version on dvd that may be the best bet.

Taff Lewis

Love Evil Dead II (all time favorite), but it's not at light as some of the others on the list. Tucker and Dale is also a favorite. Check out Little Evil (Netfilx)

Baron

Thank you for the great content found your stuff on YouTube and just joined here today so I could watch more of your videos. One of my all time favorite movies was From Dusk Till Dawn because I didn’t know anything about it before I watched it, so if you haven’t seen it and don’t know anything about it I highly recommend From Dusk Till Dawn as a movie you should watch.

ShadowVessel π

I'll say this. If you're looking for a light-hearted Halloween movie to watch, Beetlejuice is the way to go 😊

Patrick Curtis

Hi Natalie, I really like your YouTube channel! I surfed across it a few weeks ago and it has brought a simile to my face ever since. And congratulations on your engagement!

2021-09-29 22:48:22 While not for the Halloween season, would you consider watching older films, such as Bringing Up Baby (1938) with Katharine Hepburn & Cary Grant, The Great Escape (1963) with Steve McQueen, James Garner, & Richard Attenborough, and Cool Hand Luke (1967) with Paul Newman.
