Hey guys!

Here is my reaction to The Fifth Element! I hope you enjoy it. Let me just say...I DID NOT expect this movie to be so silly and comedic. I truly thought it would be a suspense film or drama based on the title. So that was a fun surprise! I'll be getting into Firefly and back into Marvel soon and can't wait to share those videos with you as well. Until then, let me know your thoughts in the comments below and  ✨ stay golden!✨

i love the Fifth Element. i plan on 3d printing out the stones element stones soon! also, when i first saw this movie as a kid i originally thought the artist at the beginning of the movie was for some reason blind...... i have no idea why.

Neil Silverman

Love this movie. I can't wait to watch along with you later today. :-)

By your powers combined, i AM CAPTAIN PLANET!

Darryl Low

You're facial expression throughout this video is most definitely "This is not what I signed up to!" :)

YAY. Love this movie!!

To answer your question about "why does everything look so weird", that's what happens when you let the French make a sci-fi film. Some of the choices in this film are utterly baffling. It's definitely entertaining, in its way, but there's a reason it's a cult classic and not mainstream.

Can't say I was ever a fan of this movie. I love goofy movies but this one I could never vibe with, however I'm interested in your opinion.

Chris (darkwater)

It's Luc Besson.... that's why it's a bit weird :)

Vincent Valentin

i love this movie but its really the strangest thing.

I myself had the same reaction to THE FIFTH ELEMENT the first time I watched it. I didn't expect it to be so zany and have such a breakneck pace. But I instantly became hooked on this movie and have watched it so many times now I know it by heart. The mixture of music and editing in the film is such a rush. And the production design is overflowing with endless little details that I continue to pick up on after countless viewings. As a huge Bruce Willis fan myself, might I recommend a couple movies starring him that you may not have seen: The action comedy caper HUDSON HAWK has a very similar goofy tone and is an absolute hoot to watch. There is also the action drama TEARS OF THE SUN, which is one of his most underrated performances. As is the time traveling sci-fi drama 12 MONKEYS directed by Terry Gilliam. Gilliam also directed the dystopic dark comedy BRAZIL featuring Ian Holm in another very humorous role much like in this film.

Back then i felt it was a great Movie, still kinda is Its still cool but way more cringy then i remembered. Guess my Movietaste change a little.

My favorite movie of all time, and the only movie ever that I actually saw twice in the movie theater when it came out. Bruce Willis was awesome, Chris Tucker his annoying self, so that's perfect, Ian Holm and Gary Oldman fantastic as well. The action was great. It's funny, zany, visually striking, and hugely entertaining. Oh, and Milla Jovovich... gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.

Krylo

this is one of my favorite movies; and I gotta say.. I've shown it to many many people; and they have almost an identical reaction... its one of those savory movies that will for sure be on your mind for a while!

The Fifth Element is a favorite of mine just because it didn't take itself to seriously, kind of like they just went down a checklist of sci-fi plot elements. At least it did get me into Luc Besson movies. Fun fact, The Diva was Lucs other at the start of filming but Milla was his other at the end.

Does anyone else, when they watch Lord of the Rings, conflate "Aziz, light!" with "Frodo, the door!"?

Anonymous

I know it's a different actor but it's said with the same cadence.

Krylo

also; your eye rolls when something creepy/gross happens are the best

Ken

Hadn't seen this in a looong time. Some things about it haven't aged so well but overall it's still fun and offbeat. How about a non-scifi poll sometime? Some suggestions: Heat, Tombstone, Nightcrawler, Silence of the Lambs, Skyfall. Maybe some classics like North by Northwest, Key Largo, Rear Window, The Apartment. Or something cheesy like Road House.

Natalie, if you liked The Fifth Element, you would like Big Trouble In Little China, with Kurt Russell.

Elisa H.

Oh yay, awesome. Love Chris tucker in this. My mom and I still say things "you green?" "yeah super green" or when asking about something like an ID or park ticket "you got your ticket? Leeloo muti-pass?"

Ron

Natalie, if you're looking for some more Ian Holm, have you seen Brazil? I think you might light this movie.

The Hedge Knight

To answer a couple of your questions, Ray, the deaf guy, rolled two pool balls to Korben instead of tossing him the gun and modern pool tables have a slab of 1/2 inch thick slate stone under the felt for superior bullet stopping action. For something similar in tone that's fun to watch, I recommend Demolition Man.

Robert Avila

Another great reaction video to a movie I love. You're really making it easy to figure out what I should rewatch next. Your reactions are so great, I catch myself answering you when you ask questions during the movie. 🤣

Chaz Mannington

You are too smart by half. You guessed so many things before they happened that I was surprised by. I loved watching one of my favorite movies with you. Thanks.

OMG I jumped on my couch when the message dropped saying you reacted to this movie! One of my favorite feel-good family time movies :-D Well, let's start watching then!!!! <3

The Fifth Element? Let’s recommend Natalie some science fiction like Blade Runner, District 9, or Snowpiercer. Come on.

Thomas Malley

How about some old classics like Karate Kid and Rocky?

Anonymous

The Cobra Kai series is good too ... for after Karate Kid.

So excited to watch this and the finale of mando this weekend!

Just thinking WAAY ahead. Please consider watching "Love Actually" sometime during December. Really, really good movie.

Misty Crom

Well, that was my first time watching it too... got it on youtube since I don't have it and it isn't on Netflix. Yeah, not hat I expected quite either. I'd seen a bit of Chris Tucker, so knew it had some comedy in it, but... Was very funny.

Troy B.

"I feel like I'm on drugs watching this." <-- should have been on the movie's poster.

Neil Silverman

This is one of my favorite movies, and it was really fun watching it with you. Glad you enjoyed it! I would love to suggest another of Luc Besson's movies which you may enjoy - "Leon: The Professional". It also stars Gary Oldman, along with Jean Reno and Natalie Portman in her first major role (she was 14, I think). It's more violent and much darker in tone than "The Fifth Element", but is a wonderful film with some truly outstanding performances. So I definitely recommend you add it to your list for the next time you are in the mood for a character-driven action flick. Thanks!

Hudson Hawk is definitely the weirdest Bruce Willis movie. Funny, but weird.

Haim Sazan

If you want to see more silly Bruce Willis movie you should watch Hudson Hawk. Great movie but huge box office failure (:
