The mudhorn is the signet. He got the whistling birds instead of the signet, because he believed the mudhorn wasn't a honorable kill.

It's the Dark Saber that is tied with Mandalorian and Jedi history.

Star Wars Clone Wars TV show and Rebels elaborate more on it if you want to know more about the Dark Saber.

To answer some questions... - The Whistling Birds are just a type of weapon - The signet is like a badge they wear after having been bloodied. Because he was f***ed up by a mudhorn, he chose that as his signet. - When the covert got taken out, the Armorer bestowed on Din the right to form a new clan (which, as anything with Mandalorians, has little to do with blood relation). The mudhorn will now probably serve as the symbol for that clan as well, although we do not yet know enough about how that stuff works (now that the old books are no longer canon) - "Moff" is a title. The rank was a totalitarian tool of the Emperor to get the galaxy under his direct control - they act as civil governors of anything from a system to a whole sector of the galaxy, while holding a military rank as well. You know Grand Moff Tarkin (the thin older gent who commanded the Death Star in A New Hope); the Grand Moffs were one step higher, commanding a large chunk of the galaxy. Many surviving Moffs became individual warlords with their respective territories after the collapse of the Empire a few years after Episode VI. - Cara and Greef had an entire conversation in that scene about how Greef wants to build things back up now that Gideon was (supposedly) gone and he offered Cara a job, which she accepted if he can clean her record. But you probably caught that while editing :) - The lightsaber at the end is the one and only Darksaber, a famous relic from Mandalorian history. Basically - whoever wields this weapon is looked to as a leader from all Mandalorians, or at least that was the case before the time of Episode IV. There are entire arcs in the Clone Wars and Rebels series about the Darksaber, and the last person to hold it (that we know of) is a beloved character in the latter. So, the fanbase is reasonably anxious to see how the heck Gideon got his greasy paws on it! Edit: - Oh, and Taika Waititi not only directed that episode, but played and voiced IG-11 as well. He is just a powerhouse.

Although I'm a huge firefly fan, it's not for everyone. If you find that it's not your cup of tea move on to something you enjoy more 😁 Stay Awesome Gurl, can't wait to watch mando in a bit

JediLounger

Natalie, you found the Storm troopers at the start of episode 8 funny, I would guess there is a chance you have never seen this. It is very retro, was made way back when. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HO70-Rk3jE

I was gonna answer some of your questions, but Axel beat me to it! Anyway, I've loved this whole series of reactions - glad you liked the show. Now you can settle in and wait impatiently for season 2 like all the rest of us, ha ha! Looking forward to see what you think of Firefly.

NobleSon32

A blacksmith is the word you were looking for. Also that saber Moff has at the end is the dark saber, a powerful sith light saber.

Not a sith weapon. The "darksaber" was made thousands of years prior, by Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian ever inducted into the Jedi Order. After his passing... There is a whole history of how it has changed hands. We don't know how Moff Gideon got it... Presumably after "Rebels" and during episodes 4-6 there was a "purge" of the Mandalorians, killing most of them. I'm predicting that Moff Gideon was one of the Imperials who led the "purge"

The signet is a symbol of a Mandalorian clan. There is clan Vizsla, Clan Saxon, clan Kryze, etc. Prior to this series, Some of those clans formed "Houses" with various political aspirations... Now with the Mandalorians mostly killed or driven off, I doubt they have much or a political structure any more Right now "clan Mudhorn" is a clan of 2, just Din and Baby Yoda.

They tried to tie as much of the Star Wars lore to the show as possible with nods to the Original Trilogy, Prequel Trilogy, Clone Wars animated series, and Rebels animated series. They did a pretty good job of incorporating so much in these 8 episodes it's really amazing.

Anonymous

Clone Wars and Rebels are both amazing but that's a long slow burn to get through all of them.

It's a "darksaber" :-) and it's coooooooool haha

Troy B.

The mentions of "Darksaber" above briefly confused me, as that's also the name of a 90's Star Wars novel about an interstellar superweapon of the same name. (Which I know is no longer canon, along with a ton of other pre-Disney non-movie content.)

Natalie, you are literally the best. Thanks for existing and for sharing your reactions with us. The greatest. Also, if you want to see those dark troopers in some action, Rogue One is the next Star Wars movie to watch 😎 best Star Wars movie since Episode 3 came out in 2005

Jayson Phillips

I have a feeling in Season 2 they will explain more about the Dark Saber since Ashoka will be in it.

rayman

idk why she's always so worried about Baby Yoda, it's the show's pride, they'd never do anything to that thing, it's the safest character in the show.

Good reaction again Natalie. You've probably heard some feedback about the upcoming season 2 of the Mandalorian, which will feature an important character played by Rosario Dawson. This character appears in the clone wars animated series, and is an important character in Anakin's development, and you would need to know who this is before embarking on season 2 of the Mandalorian. However, it is clearly not practical to watch 120 episodes of the Clone Wars, all of which are good, but many of which are filler material. There are a lot of guides out there for people who want to watch the Clone wars, but don't want to watch every episode, and these guides give a list of the only episodes you need to watch. For example https://imgur.com/gallery/suvAMuY and also this: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/4nrpri/so_you_want_to_watch_the_clone_wars_but_you_dont/ I think you can probably get by watching 20-25 episdoes, if you only watch the important ones. I don't think you could watch season 2 of the Mandalorian before doing this. Anyway, keep up the great reactions.

Ron

Hey Natalie, another great reaction! Firefly: Will you be watching it in broadcast order or chronological order? Btw, chronological order is: "Serenity", "The Train Job", "Bushwhacked", "Shindig", "Safe", "Our Mrs. Reynolds", "Jaynestown", "Out of Gas", "Ariel", "War Stories", "Trash", "The Message", "Heart of Gold", and "Objects in Space" Reasons vary as to why it was changed, but, supposedly, the series was supposed to begin with a two hour pilot, "Serenity." But the network decided that it was too long and demanded a new episode that was written over the course of a weekend." They wanted more action and comedy instead of world building.

What is better than rewatching my favorite shows and movies? Rewatching with Natalie's reactions. Everything has been stuff I love. Huge Star Wars fan and loved the Mandalorian. Was so excited for you to see it. I'll definitely watch anything you react to, whether I've seen it or not. Even if it's something I'm not really in to, I love your videos so much I know you'd make it fun.

The Darksaber?! How does he have that?

Anonymous

It would surprise me if Filoni hadn't named the darksaber after that superweapon. Dude has great respect for Legends.

Anonymous

Part of why it's the show's pride, though, is because we all so much want it to be well.

Colt 1983

Please watch the clone wars and rebels. You unterstand how important the dark saber is for the Mandalorians and you see the people there who apear in the next season. (Sorry for my poor english)

For a brief history of the darksaber, watch the first two minutes of S03E15 of Star Wars Rebels.

I’m unable to view the PIP video on Vimeo... it has a picture of leaves overlaid on top. Not sure why... do I need to be logged in to Vimeo to view the private video correctly?

nataliegold

Hi Paj, as explained in my tier description, it's a "watch along with me" style video. I cannot post the whole movie as that would be a copyright issue.

Endling_king

its really easy to pull up whatever movie / show Natalie is watching and use P-I-P feature and overlay it over where she has the picture setup

Could someone do a tutorial? I always have them in separate tabs, which means I have to toggle back and forth between the show and Natalie.
