No it's not Tatooine. It's another planet entirely. The planet he got his orders on is another planet as well that will be named later in the series.

It's difficult to tell in the episode, but the knife that Mando used on the Rhino creature is a vibrating blade, allowing it to cause more damage despite its small size. Also, the planet their on is called Avala-7. You'll learn more about the good samaritan's backstory (including his name) later in the season, but I figured I'd mention that Ugnaught is what his race is called.

The Ugnaught Good Samaritan (played by Nick Nolte) is the same species that worked on Cloud City. When Chewbacca was trying to retrieve all the pieces of Threepio, these were the creatures that were tossing the pieces of Threepio, playing “keepings off” to try to stop Chewie retrieving them.

The knife is a vibro blade it was what they used before the Lightsaber was invented. They vibrate at high speed and can cut into anything.

I love how every action sequence consists of Natalie saying, "Uh-oh!" repeatedly. This changes the tone in a way I rather like.
