Timor does not come from Thistleland. He comes from another largely unexplored continent known unimaginatively as "The Southern Continent".

Many years ago people from Thistleland sailed south to The Southern Continent with the express goal to set up farmsteads to grow crops both hard to grow in the cooler continent of Thistleland as well as native Southern crops that simply do not grow in Thistleland.

Due to the focus on crop growing, little of The Southern Continent has been explored, but the many people living in the farmsteads have over the last few generations formed a distinctive attitude and culture distinct from Thistleland. 

More laid back and casual, such folk have a habit of being unorthodox and sometimes are even known for doing things that might put them at odds with organisations such as The Adventure Guild.

They also like their hammocks and naps in the warm sun.
