Red Plantas, much like other Aniplantae, have three sources of energy. The first is photosynthasis, common to most plants (plantae). The second is meat and/or plant matter, common to most animals (ani). However, there is a third source, one that is poorely understood by most species within galaxies, but one that forms the basis of all Springhare technology. Aniplantae can feed upon the mind, usually upon the awakened state of the mind. Technically harmless, this method renders the victim mostly helpless during, and to Aniplantae is akin to highly processed food: Energy dense, but usually low in nutrients.
