Weekly dev blog: First post of 2023 (Patreon)

I hope you guys had a good time during the holidays. As for me, I am back to working now. Last week I worked on the Magic academy entry exam! I finished the written part, which will be a set of 5 questions from a pool of 15. You'll have to read some books to expand your lore knowledge (insert evil laughter here)! 2 of the books are actually already in the game, but I had to write 2 more for this. The 2 new books aren't available at your average library, so you have an incentive to gain access to the better places available in Caliross. The books are available both as research topic (IF you ask about the exam at the academy) or as regular lore books around the libraries (if you have ever seen "Magic for Dummies" in Tarkas, you already know what to expect AND some answers to the quiz XD).

After this I'll have to add a practical exam as well. If possible, I'd like it to be a remix of puzzle ideas players might have seen already in the game, with one or two completely new elements.

I got a bit sidetracked fixing bugs, recently, and there might be a few more still coming. I got 4 or 5 already fixed, so I am considering a hotfix, even if I usually don't release them this late. All the bugs are from old content, too, which was surprising.

As for what's coming next, within the next week we should get our monthly poll + art preview, and I might focus on writing some scenes. I'll also try to add the practical exam. I don't think there is enough time to write actual content after joining the academy in the short term, but I'll probably leave the tests in with a disclaimer, so that next month I have all the time I need to write stuff for it.
