Jeremy: I recently put together a video about the Master System version of OutRun (or as Sega called it on Master System, Out Run) that led me down the rabbit hole of one of the greatest racing series of all time. Or rather, driving series. I don't care for racing games, but OutRun is something else altogether—fast and often intense, yes, but also curiously chill.

For this week's patron bonus episode, I gathered together two retrogaming titans of sufficient stature to weigh in on such a legendary franchise: Shane Bettenhausen and Jaz Rignall. Did we do justice to the game and its history? Or did we stall out before reaching the checkpoint? You'll have to listen to find out for yourself. At the very least, the musical selections are guaranteed to be bangers this time around....

They Create worlds just had an episode last week about Will Wright, with a tidbit of how The Cannonball Run also influenced his life. Was not expecting that on the Venn diagram of Yu Suzuki / Will Wright shared influences.

I'm glad retronauts is getting into classic racing games. How about a Daytona USA, Sega Rally double feature?
