Hello to all backers, both old and new! Here is our final early access episode of the year, wherein Ray returns to the fold to help us sort through the complexities of the Bubble Bobble franchise.

Starting next week, early access episodes will return to being exclusive to backers at the new $3 tier and above. And sometime next month, we'll be changing our schedule, replacing biweekly Micro episodes with full Retronauts casts, including the new Retronauts East venture, thanks to everyone who helped us reach the weekly/East funding goal as of last night. Of course, if we reach our next goal at $6K/mo., we'll continue pumping out biweekly Micros in addition to the full weekly episodes. As I've said before, the more funding targets we hit, the more content you get for your monthly pledge.

Enjoy the show, and thanks again to everyone who contributed to the "weekly Retronauts" Christmas miracle!

The original Power Trio — Bob, Ray, and Jeremy — follow up their recent look at Wonder Boy to take on the next needlessly convoluted franchise: Taito's Bubble Bobble (et al.). Confusion guaranteed for all!

I sure hope I didn't drive everyone away with my blatant abuse of the BB theme...

I'm upping my donation. It's the least you guys deserve for ten years of quality content!

Now I know where camel toes come from. Thanks Jeremy!

I backed on Kickstarter long ago. Happy to say I'm now a Patreon supporter too. Long live Retronauts!

The original arcade bubble bubble was one of my favorite games as a mid-aged teenager. I remember being able to last 45 minutes on a quarter playing two-player co-op. So it's probably the closest I ever got to mastering an arcade game.... The yellow bubble gum power up was probably my favorite power up of all time (rapid fire bubbles). Thanks for the trip down memory lane
