It's been a long time since the Retronauts East crew gathered together (remotely, even), and it's been even longer since we talked about Star Wars games. Well, actually, you'll need to wait a little longer for Star Wars game discussion—this is the first episode in a trilogy about the prequel Star Wars trilogy, and we're treating this entire trio of podcasts as a cohesive whole. So—rather than talking about the movie and related games this time around, we're simply talking about the film. The games will have to keep for another episode! Yes, this is a video game podcast, but we're working up to the games. I promise that this is an entertaining enough discussion to be worth your time.

And hey, who doesn't love Retronauts East? Big ol' jerks, that's who.

Edits this episode by Greg Leahy, and cover art by Shaan Khan.

I paid $3 so I could come in here and say "YOU DUMB MFs" like CGI Al Pacino in 'The Irishman' for saying that Phantom Menace and the rest of the prequels have no practical effects. Educate yourselves, this stuff is brilliant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvpMVirLsY0 . Mustafar's freaking lava was a practical miniature in several shots!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GE3s9krS-Q Love you guys anyhow!

This is a bad movie. Lol. I get it. I get why people defend it, and I am not here to say that anyone's feelings about the movie are invalid. In some way, I do get that. There is a huge nostalgia element here and I do feel that. But It's just not good. It's not entertaining, it's plot is jumbled as hell, the acting is all over the place. I am not even going to address the cg element, because to me, that's the least offensive thing about it. A lot of effort went into it. A lot of creativity went into it. I totally acknowledge that. It just did not come together for me at all. And I am appalled that it still resonates so deeply with people.
