Video games were but the fevered dream of a madman when Charles Addams invented his creepy, kooky cartoon family 85 years ago, but in the futuristic year of 2021, Gomez and his clan of freaks have quite the collection of interactive adaptations under their belts—most of them designed to make children as miserable as Wednesday herself. On this episode of Retronauts, celebrate Halloween as Bob Mackey, Henry Gilbert, and Todd Ciolek dive deep into the surprisingly rich and unsurprisingly gloomy world of Addams Family video games. You'll never realize you craved a Dan Hedaya-based platformer until now!

Hey guys, just wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying the new episodes. Used to listen avidly in 2010-2011 period and was so sad when 1up shut down. Found out you were doing a new Podcast and became a patron immediately. So happy to hear all your voices again, especially Bob and Jeremy. Don't shut up ever again, and take my money.

Awesome episode. If you're looking for people for the pinball episode. I would ask, Ian Ferguson from the CUpodcast with Pat Contri, or ask John Wick (no, not that one) who has been writing table top RPG's since the 90's Both have a deep love of pinball, and carry a conversation for a podcast.

Huge fan of The Addams Family ever since the early '90's movies. The games can be fun if one is patient, and the pinball game is always a joy to play. Perfect Halloween gift for Retronauts fans! Happy Hallow's Eve!!!

After all these years, I still get excited when there's a new Retronauts to listen to. Happy Halloween! 🎃

I'm in Portland, so I really should go play The Adams Family pinball at Ground Kontrol after this episode. I'm not a huge pinball person, but the coolest pinball place that I've been to is a place called The Silver Ball Planet in Osaka, which is nothing but pinball.

Please do a Pinball machine centered episode with friend of the show Sam Claiborne! He repairs pinball machines and would probably be a great resource!

I found a VHS of Halloween with The Addams Family about a month ago. Need to give it a watch.

If they had gone with playing as Fester for the lawyer game, not only would it be a better game, but they could have billed it as The Addams Family: Fester's Quest II.

Listening to this reminded me of how much I enjoy those movies and the fond memories I have of somehow finishing the Genesis version of the game as a kid, a feat I don’t think I could replicate now because Gomez was REALLY SLIPPERY. Big Mario Sunshine energy with the movement but it was memorable! I also second a pinball episode, it’s the perfect excuse to talk about how insane Baby Pac-Man is!
