Greetings, all. This week's patron-exclusive episode is another entry in the sporadic Retronauts Radio line, and once again I'm taking advantage of the nature of patron-exclusivity to treat the content with love. You'll notice this download is much larger than usual—since this episode highlights music, I've rendered it with maximum quality in stereo to prevent too much of the sound quality from being compromised by lossy compression. I'm happy with the format I've landed on for Retronauts Radio here: Heavy emphasis on the music, with enough context in my commentary (I hope) to explain what makes the music so great... or not. There's even a mailbag segment! Delightful.

This episode's artwork is by Nick Wanserski, and I think we can all agree that it, too, is delightful.

Most of the albums discussed here can still be purchased, if you're interested:

Enjoy!

I enjoy these episodes, but as someone who appreciates game soundtracks mostly within the games, I never have much to contribute myself. But I can at least say that the Cowboy Bebop OST is excellent, and I'm especially a fan of the vocal tracks "No Reply" and "Gotta Knock A Little Harder". And Jeremy, if you're a fan of Yoko Kanno's work, check out the soundtrack for Wolf's Rain. It might not be on your radar because Wolf's Rain did not deserve the love Kanno and co. gave it. Personally, I like it more than Bebop's OST, but I'm sure that's a matter of tastes. Also, I never played any of the Klonoa games, but I really enjoyed the music from that. It reminded me of that wonderful period in the '90s when games all borrowed from jazz and R&B. Makes me warm and fuzzy.

I will melt down the Cowboy Bebop vinyl and drink it. I need it within my soul.
