We're back with another episode of our ongoing LucasArts miniseries, and this one's all about the 1993 classic Sam & Max Hit the Road! The canine shamus and hyperkinetic rabbity thing duo has quite a fascinating history going back to the 1960s, but it wasn't until the early '90s that the two entered the mainstream consciousness with starring roles in an official LucasArts release.

Unfortunately, due to a rushed production schedule and designers completely new at crafting adventure games, Hit the Road's design hasn't really held up—but the fantastic characters and stellar art make it a worthwhile experience all these years later. On this episode, join Bob and guest Kole Ross (of the podcast network Duckfeed.tv) as they explore the swirling miasma of scintillating thoughts and turgid ideas in Sam & Max Hit the Road.

The book Surfin’ the Highway was re-edited in 2007. I have a copy because I bought the deluxe edition of Sam & Max Season 2 for PC (‘member PC games on DVD? I ‘member). It’s pretty cool! I never finished the book for some reason, I’ll give it a spin during this extended session of #SocialDistancing
