Two decades ago, Sega summoned into the world the mightiest of its consoles: The Dreamcast. And then, almost as quickly, it took the poor thing into the woods out back and ran it through proverbial the wood chipper. Dreamcast died too young, but its sudden demise wasn’t the end. We pick up the story 20 years later, exploring the ways in which Dreamcast represented Sega’s spirit at its finest and how its legacy persists even today. Panelists: Jeremy Parish, Morgan Shaver, Mike Drucker.

Originally recorded September 2, 2019 at PAX West.

This is a bit in the weeds, but the Dreamcast had one of the best home arcade sticks ever, the appropriately named Dreamcast Arcade Stick from Sega itself. The old timer FGC folks call it the Green Goblin, and it's a work of art. Maybe my favorite stick to this day https://segaretro.org/Dreamcast_Arcade_Stick

A buddy of mine has one and he STILL rocks me in Garou with it. It's a really great stick.

I have one of those sticks. I found it at a GameStop for $10. Hell of a find a few years after the DC died.

Still have my Green Goblin. I had to mod it due to the old stick on it wearing out but it’s my go to whenever I’m playing DC fighters.

I know you all aren't sports games but NFL 2K on the Dreamcast was a huge evolution for the genre. I remember seeing it at the first time on display at a Fry's and for a good 10 minutes I thought it was a real NFL game being broadcast on TV.
