Hey folks, I'm traveling at the moment, hence the lack of new artwork for this upload. But the important thing is that I managed to get this episode up with clockwork efficiency. Hooray!

This episode is another one of our periodic media-focused episodes. We talk about Star Wars games this episode, but mostly we talk about the history and impact of Star Wars the movie. Just the first one. It was kind of a big deal, maybe you've heard? We're not sure how Solo is gonna turn out… but even if it's garbage, we'll always have our memories of this fun flick. And uhhh also the games.

A thoroughly entertaining discussion, very much enjoyed it. Would very much like to hear you three do Empire and Return of the Jedi as well. Also, did you sneak in a bit of the FF12 soundtrack there at the 59 min mark Jeremy, or is the Star Wars influence on that game just eerily apparent in the instrumentation there?

All the music is from Star Wars games — the 59 minute mark is Dark Forces, so it's something doing their best John Williams. Much like FFXII!

I have a GOOD feeling about this! Please do a Prequel games episode next.

If anybody wants to check out Super Star Wars, Disney released it on the PS4 and Vita back in 2015 to coincide with the release of Battlefront. Save states makes the game a lot more bearable and it's a fun time. Definitely worth checking out.

Count me in as one of the people who liked JVC Star Wars. It's kusoge and absolutely needs a strategy guide with maps to get through both Tatooine and the Death Star, but it has some fun power progression going on. Famicom Star Wars is more pick and play friendly, though I think it's ultimately about as difficult.

I was really into the Super Star Wars games back in the day. Sound and graphics really brought you to the movie galaxy. But man were they ever near broken as action platformers. Hard to kill enemies flying at you every second, hard platform jumping, impossible difficulty. Just one frustrating level after another. They were actually kind of terrible games just wrapped in amazing SW coating. Super Empire Strikes Back is probably the most memorable, but all three are near identical experiences. Thanks for a good episode!

Thought this was a good episode. It is clear there is some anti-Star Wars bias in places--I think we can all agree we are weary of Prequel Hate. I had forgotten some of these things about the games and kinda want to replay a few of them now.
