For weeks, Jane spent endless hours tied up in all manner of compromising positions, Elroy using her as his practice dummy while he perfected his knot-tying skills. Sure -it- was fun, bound to every piece of furniture in the house or precariously suspended from the odd light fixture ... , but it was beginning to be kind of a pain. She'd lost count of how many times she'd narrowly avoided being seen by visiting tradesmen or unannounced visitors, the woman dashing into her bedroom trailing meters of half-tied cord behind her...the young man untying her just in the nick of time.

Fortunately for Jane, after achieving his merit badge, knot tying seems to have been a passing fad for the ever-impulsive Elroy. Months pass, and the young man goes on to add some of the more mundane badges to his collection. Extraterrestrial hunting, atomic fission, or interplanetary space travel...none of which need to involve Jane ... tied spread-eagle across the dining room table.
