Hello Patreon Brains!

Thanks to your support, I'm looking into getting a virtual/part-time office space for How to ADHD!

AKA a place for me to go work where I can't get distracted by the TV, Edward, or bridal magazines.

Besides the fact that it'll be good for me and Edward (who works completely from home) to get a break from each other, and for me to remember that our apartment isn't just a YouTube studio, I'm super excited about working in an actual office for the first time! I feel so grown up...

I won't have my own office (someday...#lifegoals) but I will get to borrow whichever ones are available for a certain number of hours each month, and I can also hang out in the business lounge and work.

It's not the final goal, but it's another step toward making this my career, staying focused on the channel, and helping even more ADHDers. Thank you for making it possible!

Nothing to do now but pack up my laptop and fidget toys and go try it out!

...except it's 10pm.

Tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll try it out.

How to ADHD

Any tips on office etiquette? Everything I know I learned from The Office...

OMG. The working from home struggle is real!!!! I just got a gym membership because I never go to the gym at my apartment complex. Somewhere to go and not being cooped up. I used to be a teacher so I've never been an office worker. I would assume loud music or temper tantrums are probably not a good idea. No smelly food.

Cool!! Which one are you going to be at? Is it WeWork or something similar? I just went back to working in an office after months of working from home :) it's nice to be around other people.

and yeahhh I used my old gym membership WAY more than I use the gym at my apartment complex...so much for "I don't have to drive to a gym, I'll use it every day!" haha

Ironically, I'm now hyperfocusing on Regus reviews instead of editing...

The best tip is to just try and be conscious that others are working and not do anything that would be distracting to them.

How to ADHD

That's a good point. Luckily I'll be in a private office a lot of the time, but I'll try to be conscious of how much I fidget and pace when I'm in the business lounge. Thank you :)

I don't know about office workplaces. I watched a movie called "Office Space" once or twice. (OK maybe a few hundred times) But it's rerealreallyreally funny. Please dont take on too much. Im hoping my gift/support helps to get you that much needed day off. Or help to keep secure supply of meds. I dont want you to burn out because you burn so bright. Thank you for all your hard work! Thank you for the help youve given to adhd'ers like me.

You are so sweet, thank you!! Edward and I are planning a night out thanks to you. And actually, I'm hoping getting out of the house to work will give me a better work/life balance -- eventually I'd like to be able to leave most work at the "office" so I can come home and recharge :)

I've recently discovered the some (emphasis on some) coffee shops are great for working/studying. If you're interested, depending on where you live in LA, I might have some suggestions.

How to ADHD

I've been working in coffeeshops and restaurants for a long time, it does help me. I'm stepping it up a bit now so I can have some consistency, know there'll be a spot available and also not feel bad for taking up a table for 4 hours without ordering another coffee :D

Having an office is a huge, exciting step up. Glad to hear that coffee shops work well for you though.. My solution to those problems is to always go to the same coffee shop and make sure all the baristas know me and to always tip well. That way they know that I'll always order something, even if it's not for awhile.

UPDATE: you never know how fidgety you really are til you try to sit at a desk like an adult.

I was at a formal dinner last night and realized at random points that I was shaking my leg for no reason.
