Hello Brains & Hearts!

Holy moly… two (three?) months have already gone by! We originally were going to start this newsletter by saying Happy New Year, and suddenly, it’s February -- no wait, March! 😅

Last month was-- or rather, the last couple months have been a 💩show. Thank you so much for being patient with us. In a series of unfortunate events…

  • Our Community Manager caught Covid and was wiped out for a while,
  • Our Operations Manager had an ADHD medication issue that (in her words) “melted her brain” and then wound up getting sick right after, and…
  • Jessica McCabe had to miraculously edit 6 whole chapters of her book and turn them into her editor before a January 31st due date…and is now having to finish the entire rest of the book by March 31st…

… So yeah… 💩show. This month you’ll notice that the Chronicle mostly looks the same, but at the bottom we’ve listed both the January and February videos together so that you wouldn’t miss out on anything!

Perks

Everyone

Good day, everyone!

Are you trying to find your benefits?  Not sure how to access something? Feel free to ask! We did our best to make the perks easy to find, but it doesn’t mean it succeeds all the time. However, we are happy to help! We also have a pinned FAQ post here on Patreon that may be able to answer some questions, as well.

Behind The Brains

Howdy, Behind the Brains-ians!

Been playing some Minecraft? If so, you may have noticed our latest update!

You can now level up MMO-like skills on our Minecraft Server! If you’ve been having some fun with these skills, be sure to let our Admins know. 😊

And be on the lookout for further updates! Currently, Owl & Marauder are working on a system to unlock more server perks. They also want to open up more avenues for self-expression with a plan to implement some exciting new decorative features! We do not have an ETA for these yet, so be sure to keep up to date with Minecraft Announcements via our 🔗#mc-announcements channel on Discord.

Salutations, Brain Boardians!

What We Accomplished This Month-- err, Quarter!

  • Jessica spent a week and some change at a writing retreat finishing up the first half of the book AND somehow miraculously turned it in to her editor!
  • As mentioned in the Behind the Brains’ section of Perks, we have added MMO-like skills to our Minecraft server!
  • We brought on a new video editor named Karen who is amazing! Thanks to your support, we’re able to start expanding our team so we can bring you more content and helpful resources!
  • We held a Game Night on Discord for our Behind the Brains & higher patrons! It was a lot of fun and we had a great time. We’re looking into doing another one in the future, and we will announce when it will be once we find a date. 😊
  • We’ve been able to take care of our team as they’ve gone through a lot of challenges in the last few months. Because of the support we receive from all of you, our team members have been able to take sick or personal leave without having to worry about not being able to pay their bills. It means a lot to us that we’re able to be a mental health friendly company.
  • Lots of other things that we… uh… can’t fully remember right now. 😅

I love that you called yourselves out at the top of the newsletter, because I didn't even notice! 😂 I'd love to know how many of us ADHD'ers (like myself) didn't even realize it had been that long between issues. We do play into the stereotypes sometimes, don't we? 😁

How to ADHD

Ahahah we had to make it fun somehow! Besides, we like showing that we're just as human as you all. 😊 We make mistakes and we roll with them as best we can! And if we can give you a chuckle at the same time, even beeeeetter.

Ran out of meds for 6 weeks and it was pretty discouraging.
