I just finished interviewing DR. HALLOWELL!!!!

He was so big-hearted, so warm, so open about his own struggles and generous with his tips for us brains! Edward calls him "the human hug."

In case you don't know Dr. Hallowell, he's the author of Driven to Distraction, Delivered from Distraction, and about 18 other books, including his latest one, Driven to Distraction At Work.

As you can imagine, he's a very busy man, so we only got to chat for 20 minutes, but we talked about self-esteem, sensitivity, ADHD strengths, how/if to disclose your ADHD to your boss, and the importance of finding the right job (and what to do when you get bored of it :D ).

We'll probably cut it down to one or two episodes on the channel, but we'll be posting the WHOLE INTERVIEW here on Patreon!

Nothing like meeting one of your heroes and realizing they're even better in person.*

BRAINHUGS!

Jess

* Meeting in person over the Internet. He was in New York, but ALSO INSIDE MY COMPUTER LOOK HOW CLOSE OUR FACES ARE!!!!

This is amazing!!!! I have the book on my nightstand, but I guess I have been too, um, distracted to read it all... :/

Looking forward to it, thank Jess!

How to ADHD

I haven't read the whole thing either...shhhh don't tell...I tend to do better with reading random chapters from books, articles/blog posts and research articles from scientific journals for some reason. Probably because I like to misplace books. The library hates me.

How to ADHD

We'll work on syncing it all up and posting it here as soon as the exercise episode is up! Edward was waylaid prepping for this interview, but he's back to working on it today :)

So looking forward to seeing this. Been feeling super-distracted at work recently despite my medication because I'm not enjoying my job. So hopefully this book will give me some fresh ideas. Keep up the good work, Jessica.

How to ADHD

Thanks! We didn't have a super long time to go into his book, but we *did* talk about how to find the right job for your brain and what to do when you get bored of it. If you want though you can read the introduction of his book for free, it's got some good tips even before he gets into the meat of the book :) http://www.drhallowell.com/books/driven-to-distraction-at-work/
