To be perfectly honest, Andy needs to do the same. He didn't exactly win based upon his own talent in communication... unless you count communicating the contents of his pants. He basically sold himself for the sake of outdoing someone who actually does love him for who he is, even if that someone doesn't have any idea how to show it properly. Both of them have screwed up royally and need to figure out how to live their life in a fair and decent manner from this point forward.

Totally right there. They both need to reevaluate what's important and start acting on it like decent people. Emery might be a decent guy, but that whole relationship is built on a flawed foundation. There's not a tangible future there for either of them. That's one thing I really like about this comic. No one's perfect.

Exactly! I love stories in which the characters have real flaws. It's more realistic. Another example is Major/Minor. It's scifi/fantasy, and some people give it crap for its issues game-wise, but the characters are all written to have some major flaws. They're morally ambiguous and questionable. No one wants a Mary Sue. The more that a character struggles with a flaw, whether aware of it or not, the more interesting they are. And you're right about Emery. It's possible for real relationships to form out of odd conditions, but it's rare that they succeed. A solid foundation is important, like you said (and I really question Emery's true motives, even though I love his design, the sex scenes are hot, and I'm a "Dad" myself). While Andy and Cooper are going through a very bad patch, they do have that foundation. Years of friendship, despite the bad times, always making up in the end and being super close. They just need to pull their heads out of their asses and have the other put something else in there. ;3

I can understand and relate to it, in my own way. I try to be nice and all, but I was raised and grew up in places where any sign of weakness meant something bad would happen. Always looking over my shoulder. I never felt safe. I still don't. That really can mess up a person's head, and there are times I do put on a jerkass facade, just out of pure instinct, due to fear of what will happen if I don't. Understanding the psychology behind it only helps to some degree. We may be human, but we're still animals with instincts for survival, both physical and psychological. I think that's one reason I'm a furry. Such characters represent that truth about humanity, the truth many people refuse to acknowledge: humans are animals, too.
