This video covers how to set up a Tsugaru Shamisen that is disassembled into 3 parts.

Just as with disassembling, there are key points when you set it up. If the joint sections are not assembled properly, the Shamisen does not produce a good sound and can be damaged. Let’s understand the structure of the instrument and set it up perfectly!

Tsugigi - A wood that is put on the removed part when a Shamisen is disassembled into three pieces. Every Shamisen has its customized Tsugigi

三つ折り（みつおり） - 三味線を三つに分解すること

胴（どう）- 三味線の皮がはってある部分のこと

棹（さお）- 三味線の左手で指を押さえるネックの部分

天神（てんじん） - 三味線の棹の最上部

つぎ木 - 三味線を三つに分解した時に外した部分に差し込む木。それぞれの三味線に合うように出来ていて使いまわすことは出来ない
