Chapter - 21: Phantom Zone breakup?!

---------

What was the phantom zone?

If someone asked me this question I would be pretty sure how to answer it easily, after all in my past "human" life I was a big comic book lover like many other people who were close to me.

Well. then it was a dimension outside the normal space/time continuum of the DC universe. A dimension where there was no concept of time, a vast expansion of almost nothingness. It is also the permeable membrane between the light side of the DC Multiverse and the Dark Multiverse.

You know the Batman Who Laughs... In a nutshell it was his world, so it wasn't exactly a great place to go on vacation if anyone was wondering for some strange reason...

People who travel in the negative zone are no longer corporeal and exist only as psychic ghosts of their true selves. Although their minds and personalities remain intact, they can no longer physically interact with any other being. This includes direct physical contact and the power of speech.

Communication within the Phantom Zone is through telepathy. Because the Phantom Zone exists outside of space/time, those within it are no longer subject to the rigors of age or disease, making them effectively immortal -- and they do not require sleep, food or air.

The Kryptonian Science Council began to exile the planet's worst criminals to the zone, the most famous of which was the military insurrectionary general from General Zod and all the other soldiers who supported his beliefs.

It is a place where consciousness could survive without a tangible body.... where prisoners would never grow old, die or escape for eternity and continue to have a miserable life.

"Another dimension. The ultimate purgatory of punishment and exile. A timeless pool of sensory deprivation that, in time ... will drive any prisoner mad."

Some might ask, why was I talking about all this for no concrete reason or something? Well, I was getting to that for a moment....

But at some point another being was sent to this dimension of the Justice League. After all, they didn't know what to do.... They were undoubtedly overwhelmed by negative emotions, confused and afraid of his possible return.

So the fear slowly consumed them with no way back. They decided to send him to a dimension where he would not hurt anyone, and hoped that his name would be forgotten forever by the entire universe.

And I could say that, because I had that memory inside my mind and could see it again whenever I felt like it, as if I was the one sent to a prison for all eternity.

To make matters worse, I could also feel his emotions as if they were really mine. It was really a strange feeling and somewhat frightening in a way.

However, the real reason for all this deep thinking was because of the news report he was watching at the moment. As I had just finished my daily training with the girls.

"Attention all residents of Washington, D.C.!" announced the announcer with obvious terror at all that was going on. "A giant fissure of some kind has formed and is getting bigger by the second! We advise you not to leave your homes while we await the intervention of Superman and the Justice League-"

But to his misfortune, it seemed that his words were just the beginning of something that would change the world in a matter of seconds, with nothing anyone could do to make this end of the world.

*Sound of glass shattering*

A gigantic hand, full of bone spikes, popped out of the dimensional fissure as I could see it trying to open an even bigger passageway so it could get out of that lifeless hell.

*CRACK* *CRACK* *CRACK*

And after a few seconds, you could see the ground shaking even harder than before, accompanied by increasingly gigantic cracks stretching throughout the huge city.

*BOOOM!

Like a falling meteor, he made his entrance like the first time he set foot on this planet and was christened with the name we all know.

His appearance had not changed much. As always, he was over six feet tall, had gray skin, white hair, red eyes, and most importantly, he had all different bones protruding from his body.

Doomsday! It was backwards....

He had broken the size of the phantom zone!

The Phantom Zone and Aethyr's domain and those who violate the dimensional walls, tearing the fabric of her mind without notice or permission, will appease her wrath and cannot go unpunished.

As well as being a projection of a living mind. A divine mind, belonging to a being called Aethyr. It seemed that Doomsday had pissed off another cosmic entity. Well, that was nothing new...

Seeing the spectacle, I couldn't help but tremble as a variety of emotions struck deep in my core, not knowing how to react to all that was happening in front of me.

Fortunately she had some moral support as I could feel Lilith and Rose put a hand on my shoulder to try to relax me somehow, and I could also see Gilotina giving me a slightly worried look.

But it seemed the surprises were not over....

After the prehistoric creature began his uncontrolled rampage on all living life nearby.

I watched in surprise as several men in different armors emerged from the cleft of the phantom zone he had created. 'Kryptonians," I could only mutter.

They were some of the exiled criminals, led by General Zod, found a way to escape the zone and eventually arrived on Earth where they fought "the last Son" of Krypton, Jor-El's son Kal-El.

But why were they still in one piece? Why had Ultimate not yet killed them?

I was watching as Ultimate looked around as if he was looking for something or rather someone. I felt like I could sense something from the being I was looking at right now.

It was not on the level of Galatea and Supergirl who could also sense physical contact from a long distance between them. But it was more of a mental connection between the two of us that seemed to be getting stronger by the second.

I couldn't help but think that up to a certain point, my emotional problems I had since I had awakened in this world were really because of him, because of my connection with him.

He was looking for me...

'Maybe he had this problem too?' I didn't know how, but we were somehow connected. And in thinking this a thought couldn't help but come to my mind and discomfort was growing inside me.

'Was it my fault that he had managed to break through the phantom zone?!' This thought kept repeating itself inside my mind, making my already unstable emotions grow.

But I could only think that this was a possibility that lay before me. It was time to "fix" or rather bring my emotional problems down to the normal Saiyan level; they had become a problem for too long already that was clearly limiting me.

I didn't think I could beat him or anything, but on my side I had Ki and an evolutionary adaptability, plus my beloved Zenkai.... It was going to be a long battle, but my defeat was not certain, and that was sincerely enough for me to take my next actions.
