For those who are new and might not know, I like to do a first draft as fast as I can and post it to patreon before doing the more minor details to see if it'll remain patreon exclusive or if I'll do the more annoying final details to make it public.

This needs to flow a bit better and the audio may need tweaking.

I think I'm going to do the same sponges with the cold activated ears and just do the crackling noises much slower and use the other mics to do the breathing stuff instead of adding the breathing as a layer to this. I personally find the audio too "busy" in this and some of the crackling too close. For the cold ears I don't think I will attempt the twin thing but have myself in behind the ears at the better condenser mics.

What do you like/dislike about this that you think could be improved upon with the cold ears?

Hot Sponge First Draft

Love it. The first time I watched it I didn't notice for quite awhile that it wasn't a mirror image and it was two of you. Also the sounds and whispers from your first ever Sponges video (10/20/13) were just the best. 'ASMR with Sponges' I've listened to 100's of times over the last 9 years.

ok it'll be a good idea for me to revisit that video and see if I can get a vibe closer to that with the audio

I was fairly enthralled even by this rough draft. Somehow I completely forgot you do that "hhholm" sound and it's an instant trigger for me. I can't really think of anything that needs improvement as of now but I'm sure I'll listen again soon in the near future.

Some highlights for me in this version, visually, was the blue/purple lighting and the heat distortion effect when you fade in/out. And i enjoyed the twin aspect of it. Sound wise, I really liked the crackling sounds that came from you squeezing the sponges in your hands, as opposed to pressing them against the ears. Specifically at 17 min. Which i think is due to the right sponge having more water or maybe because it is further away from the microphone(or maybe it sounds the same and I'm totally off). I also loved the breathy whispers/trigger words, so I'm looking forward to the breathing sounds in the next version. In terms of it being too busy, i felt it was fine. But I suppose that might get sorted if you don't end up doing a twin video for this next version.

Holy crap I turned on the video and just got startled awake by it ending, lol

This is going to be a fucking masterpiece. I am so excited.

The ear on the left is a right ear, and the ear on the right is a left ear. That's fine, just made me think about the chirality of ears. The sounds are wonderful, and the whole bit where you walked away to nuke the sponges while the other you awkwardly waited was such a pleasant sound experience, as well as being very entertaining. Reminded me of the virtual barber shop in a way, where the barber and his friend walk away to do stuff that would otherwise be far too abrasive and loud if the sounds were recorded up close to the ears.

It is just really really good.

Oh just the audio ending, nothing crazy. I just thought it was weird how it knocked me out in the first two minutes lol

First off...sorry about your cat 😥 But wow, your "first drafts" are like others' doctoral thesis or something! Which is to say this is already stupendous, hard to imagine it getting even better. I would say my favorite part if I had to pick would be about from 11:30 to about 15:30, with the close up visuals and whispering. Very lovely

this is a work of art 😭😭😭

Amaz'in. Loved the intro and the close up second half especially. When one ear has a different texture of sound than the other, that hits the ASMR spot for me. This video had that in spades. Also, One thing this made me re-realize, "distant" sounds can be nice. Walking, microwave, train, plane flying over head, car, etc. I guess make a judgement call but I find they provide for a nice ambiance and set me in a place.

The anticipatory triggers at the beginning are so satisfying!
