As to Lebowski being the more familiar pick, no argument there. Though the appeal of L&W weighing in on Lebowski would be their less than familiar read, rescuing it from the cult

big fan of both those flicks, or most any fatalistic sunshine noirs really. Weird how JB was king of that genre for a spell, what with Against All Odds and Morning After too, I’m sure there’s more. Almost always downbeat riffs on the “the bums always lose” theme but in each one Bridges gets to play a different sort of fuckup, uniquely un-Dude
