What causes crime? The bad people. How do we deal with it?  With a big honkin' machine gun. That's the thesis behind Michael Winner's mind-bogglingly reactionary cult classic DEATH WISH 3 (1985), the most ridiculous of the Charles Bronson-led vigilante action series. Luke, Will, and their good pal Branko Marcetic kick back and have a boys' night with this disgusting but hilarious piece of trash. PLUS: chaos in the U.K., movie madness in Toronto, and listener feedback!

Great show! Quick point, once the Golan-Globus firm Cannon films took over the Death Wish franchise, like most Golan-Globus films, they became cartoon visions of the United States AS Israel at the height of right wing anti-Palestinian paranoia. The best for my money is always 10 to Midnight, directed by J. Lee Thompson whose career goes back to the 1920s England. It's a film that's finally getting seen more and more recently.

Part two takes place in Las Angeles. Michael Winner is indeed a "character." Refer to his autobiography - it's in the same league as Klaus Kinski's or Ken Russell's. Enjoy Winner, Mary Whitehouse and a bunch of greased-up Rambo look-a-likes: https://youtu.be/dSf2kfpkKMg
