Happy Saturday everyone,

During a solemn meeting of minds (pictured) last night, Will and I decided we'd like to try a few new things in the year ahead. As we've said a few times on mic, we're delighted by how many people seem to be enjoying the show and are willing to give us their hard-earned money for these extra eps (we both tend to drench everything in irony but, really and truly, thank you all).

Anyways, we thought it might be a good idea to ask everyone here on Patreon what they would like to see (we've been thinking, for example, about the possibility of creating more reward tiers with extra content of different kinds e.g. newsletters, video live stuff). We're also for the first time seriously considering how we'd put together a live show of some kind.

So we thought we'd open up a thread on the matter: what kinds of things would Michael and Us Nation like to see as we take the podcast ahead into 2019 and 2020? The same stuff, but more? New kinds of content or ways to participate/interact with the show? More guests?

Like America itself, this podcast is less a democracy and more a constitutional republic (*spins bowtie*) so - aping its benighted Beltway establishment going to canvass the demos every election cycle - we'd like to ask what we can do to make this show better for our listeners in the hard working middle class™?

I just became a citizen of this great Nation, so my comment is late, but I echo what others have said about Bush-era music. There is a ton of good political music in that era (e.g., the Rock Against Bush albums) that I would say shaped my personal political beliefs as much as reading any history or philosophy text. Of course there's a ton of bad political music too, and some music I'm not sure of but probably wouldn't be good on a re-visit (e.g., American Idiot, which was super popular at the time). There are a lot of documentaries on bands of that era and music videos themselves too as video media to begin a conversation for the podcast. And as everyone else said, if not just keep doing what you're doing the show is great!
