Hey there!

Well, we're doing something different.

Different and strange.

Super Sales on Super Heroes is going on sale for the first time.

The price tag is set to... $0.99

Yep.

It'll be August 31st to September 5th. I blame labor day.

And Edwin Payne. Him especially.

That's nice. Would be even nicer if I hadn't already bought the kindle version already.

I'm guessing this is only relating to the US?

Many thanks, I'll be keeping an eye for it. How goes the writing on super sales 2?

Thanks for the update, just finished my second thorough read through of wastes 2 so eagerly awaiting any new writing from yourself. Are you aiming for a rough word count or just allowing the story to dictate, always interesting how different authors approach their stories?

WilliamDArand

I aim for it to be between 110k-120k words. I prefer to make sure I have a limit like that so I can keep the book relatively the same pace, flow, and length as other books. As a reader, I personally liked it when I knew the flow and speed of an author, and that it didn't change. Also, considering that I aim to avoid all fluff, flowery descriptions, and silly worthless plot... my books are usually "Breakneck" pace. :D

I've enjoyed all your books so I've no complaints with how you write, when I first found your patreon page I lost most of a nights sleep bing reading the available chapters for wastes 2. :-) Although I think a lot of modern day fantasy stories can avoid most of the long flowery descriptives thanks to ground work from the likes of tolken and today's fantasy tv films/shows?

Honestly? It's a problem on the rise, at least for me, mostly due to, well, Amazon. Amazon pays Kindled Unlimited by pages read. More words, more pages, more money. To the point that it would actually make you more than a regular sale. You'll find many books with plot points that are pointless. Or descriptions that go nowhere. Or history for a town that never shows up again, but you really needed to know about the ENTIRE NOBILITY FOR IT. Another example, POV changes. When you have more than one character, telling the same thing from a different view. That just adds words. Like when they flip to a villain, just to explain exactly what the plot is, rather than let you find out with the hero. Yeah, no. That entire thing just makes me crazy.

The one thing I hate about kindle unlimited is getting to 68% and seeing the words 'The End' only to find out the author padded the book with all their reviews, or chapters from past books in the story, or Facebook comments from their author page, just to increase the page count on their Amazon page. Nothing worse than paying $4.99 for a 480 page book only to learn that you really only got 325 pages of actual new story, the rest is just KU padding.

Yuuup. Another really good example of how that kind of shadey business is being done. As I said, I like to keep my writing style very direct. The flowery-ness can be everyone else :)
