For some reason, I'd expected this show to be a remake of the literary classic "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott, but.. from the trailer, it looks like it isn't?

I shouldn't be surprised by this, since there've been many dramas with well-known titles that have nothing to do with the works originally associated with said titles, like "Pinocchio."

And yet, somehow, as promotional materials have come out for this show, it seemed like the general understanding was, that this would somehow be a modern retelling of the classic tale. In fact, Show is still listed as an adaptation of the novel, on MyDramaList.

I'm.. not so sure about that anymore, after seeing this trailer.

Because, even though it's been yeaarrrrs since I last read Little Women, I'm preeeetty sure there was no windfall for the sisters in it? Refresh my memory, if I'm wrong! 😅

Or maybe that's just artistic license? I dunno.

ANYWAY. This story features 3 sisters, played by Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun and Park Ji Hoo, and there will be a main male character played by Wi Ha Joon.

As a matter of interest, the cast came to Singapore to film, so you do get a glimpse of Singapore in the trailer!

Show is 12 episodes, and will air from 3 Sept to 9 Oct 2022, on Saturdays and Sundays, on TvN and Netflix.

KFG ❤️

No, it’s not. The only similarity is the different paths that have unfolded for the three sisters (instead of four), underpinned by their humble origins and how, as a result, they stack up against the demands of the upper echelons of society.

More like "thematically inspired" by LMA's timeless classic...

I’ve noted other titles that borrow from other media with little similarity to the source (or even intention of similarity). For example, “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” - great title, right? Actually pretty darned good show. But nothing to do with the classic song or even the saying. Secret Garden? While You Were Sleeping? (Don’t know about that last one as I haven’t seen it.) I think it happens in shows from everywhere.

Yes, why was Secret Garden named as such?? coz they drink that body-swapping potion in a secret restaurant?
