E7. This episode, it's come together in my head, that I really, really like the music in this show. It's all very dramatic and atmospheric, and I feel that it lifts my watch experience, by increasing my sense of immersion in our drama world.

To be fair, I do think that if your drama palate is different than mine, or if you were to approach this with a more cynical eye, you might well roll your eyes at how Show is applying so much dramatic music, to what can sometimes look like fairly pedestrian settings.

But, as always, context is everything, and I personally find that with our story context in mind, I'm actually really happy to roll with the tone that Show dictates via its music. Sometimes, it surges with a building, pumping sense of excitement, and at other times, like at the close of this episode, it's dramatic in a vaguely choral, atmospheric sort of way.

I dunno about you guys, but I dig it. 🤩

Up to this point in our story, I'd been looking forward to seeing Do Hyun and Chun Ho work together on my screen, and last episode, we got that. Which made me think that it'd be a while, before we get any other significant boost to the level at which our characters work together.

However, this episode, besides the satisfaction of watching Do Hyun and Chun Ho working together, we also get to see Yoo Ri and Madame Jin starting to work together as well.

And while it's definitely a Drama Coincidence sort of thing, that has them all working on things that will lead them to the same source, Show has already established that all roads lead to the dirty big guns, in this drama world.

I actually like the inherent promise, that given a little time, our two pairs of investigative partners, will actually join forces to become an investigative quartet. I like the idea of that a lot.

With Madame Jin and Yoo Ri, I like how they are able to empathize with each other, since they've both lost someone dear to them. Now that the deaths looks suspiciously connected, I like the idea of them working together in solidarity, to uncover the truth.

What an interesting revelation, that Nurse Cho is actually Cho Ki Tak's younger sister. I wonder whether Nurse Cho is telling the truth, that she hasn't seen her brother in 10 years. If she's telling the truth, then perhaps Cho Ki Tak is secretly using her address, and perhaps secretly using her apartment while she's in custody.

Or.. perhaps she's lying, and has actually been hiding her brother.

When Chun Ho and Do Hyun go to Nurse Cho's apartment, I like how they each pick up on things that the other person misses at first. Like how Do Hyun discovers the folder-over photograph, which Chun Ho had missed. And then how Chun Ho notices that the apartment is way too clean to have not been purposely wiped of someone's traces.

The indications that their partnership is a symbiotic one, gives me a great deal of satisfaction.

The other thing that feels satisfying to me, is seeing how the various clues and details start to come together, by this stage of our story.

We don't have all the details yet, but the fact that the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident that had killed No Sun Hoo, had Pethidine in his system, makes me think of that other detail that Do Hyun and Chun Ho had found out, that large amounts of Pethidine had been found missing from the clinic where Ko Eun Ju had worked.

Surely there's a connection there, since so many things are interconnected in this story?

And then there's how everything points back to the Defense Security Command (DSC), as well. Not only was Cho Ki Tak part of the DCS, so was Han Jong Goo and Do Hyun's dad. And the guy whom I think of as Big Gun #1 is there too. The plot thickens more and more, doesn't it?

I'm also beginning to get the idea, that perhaps Do Hyun's dad hadn't had a choice in the matter, of becoming the fall guy for the murder. Perhaps it had been an order issued by Big Gun #1, and Do Hyun's surgery had been part of the package offered - not that Dad had had any choice to turn it down.

Also, we get that flashback this episode, where Han Jong Goo had noticed Cho Ki Tak with literal blood on his hands. It looks like Han Jong Goo could actually be a witness for the Changhyun–dong murder case. Wow.. It's turning out to be a good thing that Do Hyun decided to take on Han Jong Goo as a client after all.

And, Han Jong Goo's information is already proving to be very useful. After all, it's his tip-off that Kim Sun Hee had worked at Hwaye, that leads Do Hyun and Chun Ho to discover that her alias at work had been Seol-hwa, which is the exact name that's been floating around Madame Jin's investigations, and which Big Gun #1 seems adamant on sweeping under the carpet.

Ooh. I can't wait for our quartet to form, so that the answer to Seol-hwa's identity, which Madame Jin is searching for, becomes clear.

The fact that Do Hyun's heart reacts that way, when he nears the scene of No Sun Hoo's accident, seems to confirm that the nightmares he's been having, are basically recollections of the accident that had killed No Sun Hoo.

It's apparently A Thing, though not a common one, for heart transplant patients to experience certain memories and emotions of the heart donor. That's something that kdramas have played with more than a few times. And in this case, it seems that Do Hyun's inherited the memory of the accident, which manifests itself as a recurring nightmare.

How significant, that Madame Jin and Yoo Ri, who are there specifically to revisit the scene of the accident, are right there, when Do Hyun has that reaction to being at the location.

I'm hoping that THIS is the point where our quartet forms, and information is shared, and I'm hopeful that that will lift our story to yet another level. I'm actually already enjoying this story very much. But it's normal to be greedy when possibilities are shown, right? 😉

Two small studies have been done on cellular memory and heart/organ transplants, with 6% of recipients saying they have changed as a result of their transplant. There have also been experiments with snails and mice that show some form of cellular memory. Two organ recipients have written about their experiences. So, in the main it is still treated as pseudoscience. As for me, I like the concept of a heart transferring cellular memory as the subject of a drama - providing it is down well 😊

I really wish I had access to this drama! It's on my "Looking For" list, for sure.
