Hey gearheads! I was wanting to start the year off with a big elaborate update post like the ones from the first half of last year, but ended up spending that time working on VRA like crazy instead.  That being said, there is a LOT of new developments.  As I'm a more visual person, I think it'll be better to reveal the new developments in teaser posts that display the new stuff, so keep an eye out for those to start coming out as well.

'Til the Wheels fall off...

I mentioned some health issues before causing the shift to by-monthly postings.  Well, late Nov to mid-Jan has been an unending wave of physical punishment.  I spent every day of December from the time I got up until the time I went to sleep coughing.  Finally saw the doc about it and got confirmation that it's nothing too serious which is great.  While it hasn't stopped me from working it has slowed me down considerably.  However I want to keep things moving consistently for you guys, so I've been working as hard as I can and for as long as I can (seriously, sometimes like 15 hour days easily) to keep making progress.  Hopefully I'll be getting some relief in the coming weeks, but at worse the condition could last another month to hit its typical max of 3 months.

RWBY Trainer

We've had some great breakthroughs with the trainer.  I ran into KonekoSalem through my reddit drops for vrporn.com and he volunteered to help with "sex toy integration".  I mistakenly thought he meant adding sex toys for the trainer into the game, but he actually meant irl sex toys that sync with video and game content like the Vorze Cyclone.  It's a pretty cool concept, especially when paired with VR, but that would be taking things to a whole other super niche level.  So we put a pin in that.  

He was still game to see what he could help with though, so we ripped through the trainer and optimized the hell outta it and gave it a hefty graphics boost.  On of the biggest differences in Unity and Unreal is Unreal by default comes with all these graphical enhancements that make things look cool.  Unity has been making efforts to allow that gap to be bridges, but it has to be done manually.  A lot of the work we did was just that, working towards bridging that gap with add-ons and setting changes that really bring out the potential of the engine.

Once we finished that, he ended up delivering on the misunderstanding anyway and put together a system that allows for our first in depth model interaction.  Through this system you'll be able to pick up a dildo and pop it right into a model.  The initial test went great and we got it paired to the controllers so you can actually pick it up.  There is still some tweaking needed and then pairing with animations and audio but its coming along nicely.  A separate post for that system will be coming very soon.

VRA Theatre

VRA Theatre is more for promotion and marketing outside of Patreon.  It can help bring in more people to help make better content faster and without giving up the goods that you guys are getting for your much appreciated support.  However, it also serves as a great chance to showcase the girls.  It gives you a chance to see characters that would take quite a bit longer to show up elsewhere and if your considering a Premium package with one or more of the girls, it gives you a good chance to "check out the goods".

POV

The POV series has made a lot of progress since we started it.  We've gone from a single sex animation in a low quality scene, with ripped audio to a HQ scene with the ability to add multiple characters, teaser dance scenes with and without stripteases, multiple sex positions and custom voice over audio. 

In 2018, things will be even better.  We'll be able to expand the current 5 sex position library to 7, then 10+.  We have tons of sex animations to test out and have voice over work done.  We'll add voice options, so you can tailor the experience a little more.  If your getting taken out of the experience because the voice isn't what you had in mind you'll be able to choose a higher pitched voice, a deeper voice or go back to moaning instead of the new dialogue. 

Speaking of the new dialogue, I've spent a lot of time working on the lip syncing of the animations to add that extra wow factor and you've gotten a taste of it already but future releases will have the full impact.  There have been issues with some of the rebuilds, where inconsistencies in the engine have slowed things down, but we'll push through to have the new stuff ready to release very soon. 

We'll also be using the new and improved positioning system, which has been testing beautifully, so hopefully it'll finally do away with VR camera offsets, allowing you to sit anywhere in your playspace and still have the correct viewing position for the animations.  After adding it to the project we noticed a few tweaks needed to integrate it in completely for the specific POV setup, but things are looking pretty good overall.

General

The Space Station is coming back!  Though it got outvoted for the primary focus, I've still been working on it in the background and looking for an opportunity to bring it back, because on of the coolest things about VR is being able to transcend all limitations, so you can not only get it on with your favorite fictional characters, but you can do it anywhere, including in SPACE!  That being said I think the VRA Theatre and POV experiences can be moved to the space station.  This has been sort of attempted in one of the last builds of the old model space station, with the lounge servicing as the performance area and the captains quarters serving as the POV bedroom.  The Space Station still needs a lot of work and is pretty rough right now, but I think the move will allow for a lot more options and "world building" going forward.

Raffles are coming back!  It's been a while since the last raffle, but every month, starting this one, we'll be raffling off the most recent Tier1+ Patreon release to the $1 and $5 level.  Hopefully if you've been on the fence about raising support, getting a bigger taste will help make the decision easier, but if not, I hope you'll enjoy it anyway.  We'll also be bringing back Pin ups for All Patreon levels as well.  Something a little extra to say thanks and make the wait between releases seem a little shorter.
